Natsu Dragneel (ナツ・ドラグニル Natsu Doraguniru) is a Wizard of the Fairy Tail Guild, he is a member of Team Natsu. He is the younger brother of Zeref Dragneel, having originally died 400 years ago, being subsequently revived as his brother's most powerful Etherious: E.N.D. (ＥＮＤ, イーエヌディー, Ī Enu Dī). Natsu is also among the five Dragon Slayers sent to the future from four hundred years past, having an additional purpose in the assistance of the defeat of Acnologia. Natsu is also the uncle of August.
Natsu is a lean, muscular young man of average height with a slightly tan skin tone, black eyes, spiky pink-colored hair, and has abnormal sharp canines; Natsu has a scar on the right side of his neck, hidden by his scarf. Following his intense battle with the Rogue Cheney of the future, Natsu gains a cross-shaped scar on the left side of his abdomen, a result of the two fatal wounds the man dealt to him during their altercations. He later attains a new scar, this one being a jagged blemish on his right cheek, which he gained following his battle with Zeref. Natsu's guild mark is red and is located just below his right shoulder.
Natsu's main outfit consists of a sleeveless, gold trimmed, black waistcoat, often left open and untucked, exposing his bare chest, a gold trimmed, black cloth around his waist that reaches his knees, held by a leather brown belt with an oval-shaped silver buckle, white knee-length trousers, a thick black wristband on his left wrist, black open-toed sandals and the scale-patterned scarf he received from his adoptive father, Igneel. He has also been known to wear a rolled up comforter strapped across his back, though he rarely carries it in battle.
In the year X791, Natsu's attire receives minor changes. He now wears an open-collared, one-sleeved version of his original waistcoat, which is instead tucked in and zipped. The sleeve covers Natsu's left arm, leaving his Fairy Tail mark, as well as his entire right arm, consequently exposed. Natsu continues wearing Igneel's scarf and retains the same lower clothing. He now wears his wristband on his right wrist.
In the year X792, Natsu is seen wearing a large, tattered, dark cloak with his trademark scarf. His pants are torn and patched and his arms and legs are wrapped in bandages. Later, he discards this outfit in favor of his old one, although he keeps the bandages on his right arm, which hide a draconian tattoo holding a portion of Igneel's power. Following the one-time use of Igneel's power, the tattoo disappears and Natsu abandons the bandages.
Natsu is carefree and reckless in nature, and, despite his consistent brawls with the other members of Fairy Tail, he is a fiercely loyal and protective friend. He is willing to go down fighting for his friends, regardless of how futile it might seem. Natsu has a straightforward mind, and often tackles issues with a "hands on" approach. His solution to problems often involve violence. Even when disrespected or faced with obvious hostility, Natsu rarely ever reciprocates the feelings, and often forgoes grudge-holding. He did, however, for a short time, hold a grudge against Jellal Fernandes, but eventually forgave him and considered him an ally. He occasionally shows compassion for his enemies, such as when Cobra was betrayed by Brain.
Natsu continuously tries to prove his strength to others. At various points in time, he has challenged Erza, Laxus, Mirajane, and even Gildarts (in short, all of Fairy Tail's current S-Class Mages), to fight him, albeit, he was beaten every single time. Despite his losses, Natsu bears them no ill will, as he considers everyone in the guild to be his family. He demonstrates this attitude even towards former enemies. Natsu has even gone as far as defending Laxus from being expelled, despite his attempt at taking over the guild. Due to his reckless nature, Natsu's fights usually ends with widespread destruction. Natsu's love of fighting has allowed him to develop a rather strategic mind, helping him to, on various occasions, find weaknesses in his opponent's techniques, or simply weaknesses his opponents themselves possess. Natsu has also defeated his opponents with pure wit, rather than brute strength. Natsu, befitting his recklessness and love of fighting, never backs out of a fight.
As a Dragon Slayer, Natsu suffers from motion sickness. Natsu becomes sick from riding on any form of transportation, even if the transportation happens to be other people, as shown when he was carried by Lucy. This, however, does not apply to Happy, as he considers him family, not transportation. Natsu can become sick from looking at, or simply thinking about, any form of transportation. In spite of his naturally dense nature, Natsu is quite perceptive and understanding of his friend's feelings. After his battle with Gildarts during the S-Class Mage Promotion Trial, Natsu came to understand and accept fear, and has used this acceptance to help his guildmates and himself emotionally grow. Prior to this event, Erza’s wrath (albeit for comic relief), transportation, and the Magic Council were the only things that Natsu feared.
Lucy Heartfilia[]
Lucy Heartfilia (ルーシィ・ハートフィリア Rūshi Hātofiria) is a Celestial wizard of the Fairy Tail Guild, where she is a member of Team Natsu.
Lucy has brown eyes and shoulder length blonde hair that is usually tied by ribbons in a variety of colors in a small ponytail to the right side of her head with the rest of the hair loose. However, in the year X791 she appears to keep her hair up more often in pigtails. She is buxom, and has a curvaceous body. Her (presumed) measurements are: bust, 91 cm; waist, 59 cm; and hip, 88 cm (36 in, 24 in, 35 in). In X792 (which her age is 25), her hair is considerably longer, and she keeps it all in a side ponytail.
Her pink Fairy Tail stamp is located at the back of her right hand. Additionally, Lucy does not consistently wear the same outfit. However, she always has a belt that, along with keeping her skirt up, holds her Celestial Spirit keys and a whip with a heart-shaped end. She also wears black, leather high heeled boots. She also bears a striking resemblance to her mother.
Lucy takes exceptional pride in her appearance and is very confident in her sex appeal, often exuding a certain amount of vanity. Despite this superficial attitude, she is a clever, kind, and genuinely caring person. Lucy is passionate for literature and is in the process of writing her own novel about her adventures with Fairy Tail although she does not like telling anyone about it. Aside from her interest in writing and reading prose, she also likes shopping, cooking and assertive men. Her favorite colors are blue and pink She is a member of the Heartfilia family, once one of the wealthiest and most influential conglomerate families in the country of Fiore. However, due to her estranged relationship with her father and the death of her mother, Layla Heartfilia, she left home to follow her own path, which displays an ambition for independence.
Lucy is very kind to her Celestial Spirits and refuses to utilize them as shields or think of them as such. She fights alongside her Spirits and treats them as friends, unlike several other Celestial Spirit Mages, who view them as mere tools and objects. Lucy cares greatly for her Spirits and will also go to great lengths to give them happiness, even at the cost of her life. Despite technically being an owner of the Spirits, she refuses to be addressed as such and instead prefers to be called their friend. Although Lucy is, in most cases, cowardly and easily frightened, she has no problems with fighting and would happily stand up to danger, even if she ends up getting hurt, for her friends and guild. While her powers are normally not as overwhelming as her teammates, Lucy has proven to be a capable combatant herself, often using her cleverness to her advantage, and thinking outside the box during battle. She has eventually inherited Natsu's stubbornness and refusal to give up, as well as keeping faith in her her team.
Lucy usually freaks out at her guildmate's antics. Unlike most of her friends, she does not get very excited about fighting and is not quick to resort to violence as the solution. However, she does admit that being around her guildmates is really fun. Being a Celestial Mage, Lucy always keeps her promises. She gives her all for the sake of her guild and friends.

Natsu's History[]
400 years ago, Natsu was born as the younger brother of Zeref and they lived peacefully in a small village with their parents. However, Natsu died at a young age alongside their parents, courtesy of a Dragon attack. This caused Zeref to research Magic and its relation to life and death and, much later, with Zeref using his dead body, he was revived as the strongest Demon: E.N.D; whose purpose was to kill Zeref. As E.N.D., Natsu was a Demon specializing in fire, and purposely discovered a different route that Magic could take when it was still developing and thus created Curses. During this time he also met Igneel, however, the Dragon chose not to kill him because he loved him extremely so.

From that point on, Igneel, the mighty Fire Dragon King, taught Natsu how to talk, write, and perform his own signature form of Lost Magic: Fire Dragon Slayer Magic; Igneel ultimately chose, like four other Dragons of that time period, to seal his damaged soul inside Natsu's body and leap four hundred years into the future, recover his strength with the future's high Ethernano concentrations and kill Acnologia. While initially thought to have been abandoned by Igneel on July 7, X777, Igneel, July 7, X777 was the day and year he awoke in the future, like the other four Dragon Slayers; however, when Natsu woke, he believed that Igneel had abandoned him, not knowing that he had instead opted to reside inside his body for many years to come. The departure of E.N.D. from the past also gave rise to many legends about the strongest Demon from Zeref's works, including his creation and leading of Tartaros (when in fact, Mard Geer happened upon E.N.D.'s tome and used it to create unify the other Etherious under a single cause and was the one who created Tartaros), and the fact that he was the most vile creation in Zeref's library of works.
After waking up, Natsu left on a quest to find Igneel and was eventually found by the Guild Master of Fairy Tail: Makarov Dreyar. Natsu ended up joining Fairy Tail, in which he formed a close, sibling-like rivalry with Gray Fullbuster and Erza Scarlet. He was also shown to be on good terms with Lisanna Strauss and Elfman Strauss not long after they arrived to the guild.

One day, Natsu found an egg in the forest east of Magnolia. Thinking it to be a Dragon Egg, Natsu took it to the guild and asked Makarov to make it hatch, but Makarov and Erza told him that he was the only one that could make the egg hatch; through love and care. Lisanna offered to help Natsu care for the egg until it hatched, to which Natsu happily accepted. The two built a shabby straw house in the park to keep the egg warm, becoming very close in the process.
The next morning, Natsu discovered that the egg was missing, and began to blame several of his guildmates. After arguing with almost everyone in the Guild and nearly starting a fight with Mirajane, Elfman appeared, carrying the egg, explaining that he only wanted to help, but was too embarrassed to ask. Suddenly, the egg hatched and a blue cat with wings came out. Lisanna remarked upon the sudden change in the guild's atmosphere after the cat's birth, prompting Natsu to name the cat Happy.
A few years passed and Lisanna partook upon an S-Class job with her siblings, in which she was supposed to hunt a creature called "The Beast". Natsu wished to go with him, but Elfman opposed, as he felt he should be the one to take care of his family. Lisanna was accidentally killed by Elfman during his attempt at taking over the monster. Though Natsu forgave him, he was greatly saddened by the event.
Lucy's History[]
Young Lucy
Lucy was born into the once extremely wealthy and powerful Heartfilia family. Her father and mother were originally part of a merchants' guild called 'Love & Lucky' where the two met; they decided to become independent when Lucy's mother, Layla, became pregnant. They chose her name when they noticed that the sign for the guild was missing the letter "K", and instead read 'Love & Lucy'; it made an impression on them, there for they decided to name their daughter after it.

Back in her home, Lucy shared a good relationship with the staff in the estate as well as, presumably, her mother, until she passed away when Lucy was around the age of ten in the year X777. Lucy became withdrawn and depressed after her mother's death while her father was overly obsessed with his business and money and eventually, he had neglected his daughter for years, which then led her to run away from home just over a year before the beginning of the story.

Natsu and Lucy share one of the closest relationships among the members of Fairy Tail, their deep bond stemming from the fact that Natsu was the one responsible for Lucy joining the guild. The two ended up forming a team and have become partners, alongside Happy, that go on jobs together. They regularly join up with Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, and later, Wendy Marvell and Charle to form Team Natsu.
While Lucy often gets irked by Natsu's destructive and impulsive nature, she is also greatly amused by his childish antics, finding it to be endearing. Much to her chagrin, Natsu frequently drops by her home unannounced, and occasionally falls asleep in her room, or on her bed, when waiting for her. At times, Natsu comically calls Lucy 'weird' whenever she does or says something that is unusual by his standards, which leads to Lucy incredulously pointing out that he is the more unusual one out of both of them. She has grown use to having Natsu around all the time and was left in tears when he left her for a year. She deeply missed him and has expressed frustration with him for not realising how much his decision hurt her. Whilst he was gone, she would believe she saw him in a crowd of people or would expect him to be in her room like always. Even after being reunited with him, and showing her happiness, she still held a grudge against him for his actions and at one point confronted him over it, whilst blushing, before Juvia interrupted them.
Original Team Natsu
They both share a great amount of trust in one another, which was highlighted when Lucy was captured by the Phantom Lord Guild and she jumped from their sky prison because she fully believed that Natsu would be there to catch her. The two never doubt one another and have faith that they can handle themselves in dangerous situations, with Lucy even reassuring Happy whenever Natsu has gone missing or is fighting someone. Natsu believes that Lucy is a strong person even when she, herself, doubts her own abilities. After Natsu successfully prevented the disaster that was foretold to them by Lucy's future self, she ran up to Natsu and hugged from behind, thanking him as she held onto him whilst he looked up into the night sky. Her trust in Natsu is such that she defended him from Dimaria's claims that he is a monster, growing annoyed at her comments and stating that she knows Natsu better than her. Lucy became upset at the idea that Natsu is supposedly a demon and cried in front of Gray over this, due to him just being a normal boy to her.
They will do their best to save each other if the situation calls for it. When Natsu was suffering from motion sickness after getting stuck on a raft, Lucy dived and grabbed hold of him tightly as they went over a waterfall, promising not to let go. Natsu becomes furious and violent whenever Lucy has been hurt, such as when Gajeel had been torturing her. He once threatened a guard on Edolas that he would burn them all to ash if they were to harm Lucy. Upon seeing Lucy's future self get killed by Future Rogue, Natsu broke down in tears and furiously attacked Future Rogue, shouting that he has taken something precious away from him. When he and Lucy met with August, he protected her from one of his attacks after he became hostile due to Mest's actions. When Natsu had gone off to fight Zeref on his own Lucy was notably worried and became distraught when he had fallen unconscious upon his return, begging Brandish, an enemy, to save him. When she woke up after Natsu had transformed into E.N.D, she immediately went out looking for him knowing she had to bring him to his senses. Upon hearing that Natsu would perish if Zeref were to die, she decided to rewrite the Book of E.N.D in order to undo this connection, inflicting great pain onto herself. At one point, during this process, she undid the fatal blow that Zeref had inflicted on Natsu and saved his life. Having successfully rewrote the book, and Natsu had returned victorious from his fight with Zeref, she became inconsolable when he mysteriously vanished.
Natsu has become attached to Lucy and does his best to make her happy. It was stated by Happy that Natsu cried at the thought of Lucy leaving Fairy Tail following the events with the Phantom Lord guild. Whenever he has become distressed, or angered, Lucy has often calmed him down, such as on Edolas when she hugged him from behind after he saw what was happening to their guild mates. Following his fight against the Water Dragon God, Natsu became consumed by Ignia's flames and prepared to destroy everything before Lucy hugged him and reassured Natsu that everything is alright and she is here for him. Natsu, himself, has stated that he always feels calm around Lucy due to her scent because of the close relationship he shared with Lucy's ancestor, Anna, when he was a child, noting that they smell exactly the same. When Lucy was sick and couldn't go out for the Magnolia Town's Blossom-viewing, Natsu uprooted one of the trees and released it on a boat just for her to see. After reuniting with Lucy, he found that she had tried to keep track of every member of Fairy Tail and decided he would help her restore the guild. His relationship with Lucy is reflected in his relationship with her future counterpart. He saw Future Lucy as being the exact same as his Lucy which resulted in Natsu trusting her implicitly and comforting her when she doubted her actions to try and undo the tragedy she experienced. When he fell unconscious after being impaled in his fight against King Animus, Natsu thought of Lucy fondly, with her holding his hand as they were exploring Magnolia before she turns around to smile at him. This differed to how he remembered his other guild mates, instead just remembering them all inside the guild hall. Later, after his victory over Animus and being trouble by his power, he asked Lucy how he looks, hoping that she still sees him as Natsu, and after being comforted by her words, fell into her arms.
Due to how close they are, Natsu and Lucy are often the target of their guild mates's teases, with some stating that they are in love or are basically a couple. This includes Mirajane, Levy, Cana, Juvia and Evergreen. Even Erza has taken note of how close they are, once commenting that if you want to find Natsu you just have to go to Lucy's place. Asuka, the child of Alzack and Bisca, was under the impression that Natsu and Lucy are a couple like her mother and father and demanded that they kiss. Lucy's Celestial Spirit, Virgo, has also commented on their relationship, often teasing that they love each other. Gajeel has implied that Natsu has a crush on Lucy when he reminded him that he once had a crush on Anna, Lucy's ancestor. Even some enemies have noted their relationship, such as Kain, who stated that they better not be "cuddling and making out on the battlefield". Lucy has been seeing blushing whenever her relationship with Natsu is brought up and has frantically tried to play it down. Lucy has once contemplated Natsu as a romantic partner when Mirajane brought up the idea, initially playing it down, she began to think of Natsu romantically and became nervous in his presence. This happened in conjunction with a rumour that Natsu wishes to confess to a girl and believing she is that girl. She ultimately agreed to meet up with him and arrived in a dress, instead of her usual outfit, despite telling herself she did not need to do so. When it was revealed Natsu was not going to confess, she was disappointed and slapped him before leaving. Before setting off on the 100 Year Quest, Lucy appeared to be bracing herself for a confession from Natsu, but was annoyed when he just dragged her off onto another job before being reassured when he said they will always be together.

During the 100 Year Quest, their relationship continued to develop, as Lucy begins to display a greater connection to Natsu, as well as burgeoning feelings for him. She was the only person able to calm Natsu down after he was driven berserk by the flames of Ignia, and privately expressed concern for him after the fact. When teased about the potential for Touka being her "love rival", as Juvia puts it, Lucy blushes, and bashfully notes how she feels sorry for Touka, lamenting how Natsu doesn't seem to have any interest in such things, though doesn't deny she has feelings for him herself. In addition, she becomes flustered when confronted by doppelgängers of her Natsu (in Fairy Nail and Edolas) who are already in relationships with each other. She also is shown constantly fearing for his wellbeing, crying out whenever he's in danger, and later tearfully embracing him after he returns from his fight with Aldoron, and taking to letting him rest in her lap while on transportation. For his own, Natsu has begun to display a great degree of protectiveness towards Lucy, jealously guarding her from would-be suitors, to the point of using his magic against them (accidentally setting Lucy's clothes on fire as well). He was also horrified when she attacked him as a nure-onna, though he admitted that it felt good when she was pressing him into her bosom, and hesitated when she pretended to be vulnerable.

Macao Arc[]
Natsu and Lucy meet for the first time.
Lucy was first introduced when she was trying to haggle a Magical shop owner for the Celestial Spirit Key of Nikora, even going so far as to seduce him. Although she was annoyed that the store owner only gave her a discount of 1,000 jewels, she still purchased the key. Whilst wandering around the town she is intrigued when she hears other girls saying that "Salamander" is in town. She goes off to see "Salamander" and finds it is a man by the name of Bora who is using a Charm spell on all the girls. Lucy, herself, falls victim to the spell and almost fell for him until Natsu and Happy, who also heard that "Salamander" was in town, arrived. Natsu called out for Igneel and was disappointed to find that the Salamander they had heard about was just an average mage. During his confrontation with Bora, he managed to disrupt the charm spell on Lucy due to the charm spell's weakness being self-awareness. After being chased off by the girls, Natsu is thanked by Lucy for saving her and agrees to her offer for food.

Whilst at a diner, they introduced themselves to each other. Natsu and Happy explain that they are looking for a dragon by the name of Igneel and heard a rumour that he was in this town. Lucy, after pointing out that a dragon would not be in a populated town, starts to talk to them about mages and guilds and how she would like to join her dream guild, Fairy Tail. Lucy then takes her leave but not before Natsu and Happy, who are very grateful for their free meal, embarrass her by thanking her profusely.
Whilst reading Sorcerer Weekly, she finds great joy in hearing of the latest exploits of Fairy Tail, especially the notorious "Salamander". Whilst reading the magazine, she is suddenly accosted by Bora, who claims himself to be a member of Fairy Tail and that he is the infamous Salamander of the guild, and persuades her to come to his boat party later that night with the promise that he will get her into Fairy Tail. Later that night, Natsu overhears someone saying that Bora, the guy he met earlier, was claiming to be a member of Fairy Tail, irritated, he decides to crash his boat party. Meanwhile, on the yacht, Bora slowly reveals his true colours to Lucy after he tries to drug her. He then reveals his true identity and that he is a slave trader who intends to sell off Lucy and the other girls at the party. Before Lucy can act he snags her Celestial Spirit Keys and throws them into the sea. Just as Lucy is about to be branded a slave, Natsu comes crashing in.

However, due to Natsu being a Dragon Slayer, he suffers from chronic motion sickness and is rendered immobile whilst on the yacht, irritating Lucy. Happy then saves Lucy by carrying her off the boat but his magic quickly runs out, causing both of them to fall into the sea. Lucy is then able to retrieve her keys and summon Aquarius who uses her powers to wash the boat, along with Lucy and Happy, ashore. No longer affected by the rocking boat, Natsu is now able to fight Bora. During the battle, Happy reveals to Lucy that both he and Natsu are actually members of Fairy Tail, that Natsu uses a lost magic art called Dragon Slayer Magic and that he is the real Salamander of Fairy Tail, leaving Lucy completely stunned. Natsu manages to defeat Bora and his goons but destroys half of the city's port in the process, prompting the Royal Army to descend upon them. In the chaos, Natsu grabs Lucy's hand and tries to escape with her, confused, she becomes agitated before Natsu tells her to come with him so she can join Fairy Tail, prompting her to happily run off with him.

They both arrive at the Fairy Tail guild where Natsu immediately starts a brawl, giving Lucy her first introduction to life at the guild. She then meets other Fairy Tail members, including Mirajane who she has admired greatly from her Sorcerer Weekly cover shoots, as well as the Guild master, Makarov, who stops the brawl that Natsu started. Makarov then gives an impassioned speech to the guild members that they should do what they think is right and what it truly means to believe in magic. Lucy then gets her guild mark from Mirajane and happily shows it to Natsu only to be slightly ignored by the Dragon Slayer and annoyed when he calls her "Luigi" (“Loonie” in the English dub) instead of Lucy. She then asks Natsu what he is looking at and gets introduced to the quest board, being told how a guild takes up offers posted on the board for income.

Whilst trying to pick out his next job, Natsu overhears Romeo and Master Makarov arguing about Romeo's father, Macao, not returning home since his last quest. Makarov drives the boy away, but Natsu, knowing what it is like to lose a father, comforts him with a pat on the head and goes off to retrieve Macao. Lucy, having witnessed the whole thing, asked Mirajane about the commotion and she explains to her that Natsu's own father, Igneel, had also gone missing and he has been searching for him ever since. Curious, and wanting to gain the experience, she chooses to tag along with Natsu. They arrive at Mt. Hakobe where they run into a Vulcan who kidnaps Lucy due to his fondness for women. After a slight setback, Natsu arrives and defeats the womanizing creature, who is actually revealed to be Macao after a Vulcan took over his body. Natsu helps to heal an injured Macao with his flames and brings him back to Romeo and the guild.
Daybreak Arc[]
Never trespass inside Lucy's room
Lucy has just bought her new apartment and is admiring it before Natsu and Happy invite themselves in and begin to mess up her room. Whilst Happy sharpens his claws on her wall Natsu takes a peek into her writing, embarrassing her. Lucy tries to kick them out but, due to Natsu's stubborn refusal, decides to serve them tea. Natsu asks her about Celestial Spirits which prompts Lucy to explain the basics of her magic and summons her newly bought 'Canis Minor', a snowman like creature that initially is called Nicolas (which gains Natsu and Happy's pity) but ends up with the name, Plue. Somehow, Natsu is able to communicate with Plue and agrees to form a team with Lucy. Once she agrees, and team Natsu is officially born, he shows Lucy their first job where they have to infiltrate a Duke's mansion and find a book that they then must destroy. Lucy soon realises that Natsu formed a team with her partly because the strategy involves hiring a blonde maid, annoying her.

They arrive at the town of Shirotsume where Natsu complains of hunger and goes off with Happy to eat in a restaurant while Lucy leaves them to look around the town. Whilst eating, Natsu decides to leave some food for Lucy, particularly the greasy ones, saying that she may be the kind to like them. They meet up outside the mansion with Lucy wearing a maid outfit, shocking Natsu and Happy as they were not serious about her having to wear one. Nevertheless, they went inside to meet the contractor who requested their mission named Kaby Melon. Natsu, Lucy and Happy were shocked when Kaby informs them that the reward had been multiplied and is now 2,000,000 jewels to which Happy states that they should split it; with Natsu getting 1 million, Happy getting 1 million and the rest goes to Lucy, to which Lucy angrily points out that there is nothing left for her.
Filled with motivation, they head to the mansion owned by Everlue, who is in possession of the book, and attempt to get Lucy hired as a maid, but she is rejected for being too "ugly". However, it is quickly revealed the Everlue's idea of "beautiful" is unconventional. Having failed in their original plan, Team Natsu decide to invade the mansion instead via the roof. Despite intending to sneak around and look for the book, they are quickly found by Everlue's cohort of maids but Natsu dispatches them all. They find themselves in a library and begin to look for the book that is called "Daybreak", they soon find the book and Natsu immediately prepares to fulfil the contract by burning it but Lucy stops him as she realises the book is by a famous author, Kemu Zaleon. Everlue turns up and, after praising his own genius, has the Vanishing Brothers attack both Natsu and Lucy.
Throughout the commotion, Lucy reads the book and notices something interesting. She rushes off after asking Natsu to buy her some time whilst she decodes the book. She finds herself in the mansion's sewers and uses a set of magical glasses that lets her read at super speed and is able to find the hidden meaning of the book. Everlue appears before her and pins her down, threatening to break her arms if she doesn't tell him what she has discovered. Soon, however, Happy arrives and forces Everlue to let go of her. During her battle with Everlue he reveals to her his attempts to force the author, Kemu, to write a validating book about himself and even went as far as to imprison him to do so. Disgusted, Lucy summons Cancer, her Celestial Spirit whilst Natsu arrives when Everlue summons Virgo, having traveled through the Celestial World on Virgo's back, leaving Lucy completely dumbfounded. Natsu then defeats Virgo whilst Lucy and Cancer defeat Everlue.
Following their victory, Natsu and Lucy return to the mansion and talk to Kaby, where he maintains his wish for the book to be burned, which irritates Natsu. He reveals why he desires for the book to be destroyed and his past life. Just before Natsu can complete the contract, however, the book comes to life and rearranges the title of "Daybreak" to "Dear Kaby", revealing to be an anagram. Lucy then reveals that she discovered the book had actually been written by Kemu for his son, Kaby, and placed a spell on it. Despite the happy outcome, Natsu refuses Kaby's reward, as he and Lucy did not fulfil what the contract had specifically asked for and believed it would reflect poorly on Fairy Tail, upsetting Lucy. On their way back, Natsu deduces that Lucy is, herself, writing a book and that is what he saw when he was in her bedroom, causing Lucy to become embarrassed and ask him not to tell anyone.
Lullaby Arc[]
Following the failure of their first mission, Team Natsu return to the guild where Natsu, once again, gets into a fight with Gray. Meanwhile, Lucy looks for another quest on the notice board and whilst talking to Mirajane, learns about the structure of the various guilds and the existence of illegal guilds, known as 'Dark Guilds'. After Natsu frightens her he tells her to hurry and find a new job for them as it is her turn to choose one, but expresses a disinterest in working with him. Gray tells Lucy that she should feel no need to team up with anyone anymore due to the positive outcome for her first quest, but she retorts that Natsu did nearly everything. As Natsu and Gray begin to brawl once again, Loke, another guild member, flirts with Lucy but quickly runs away when he finds out that she is a Celestial Spirit Mage but then immediately returns to tell Natsu and Gray that the S-Class Mage, Erza Scarlet, has returned.
Erza enters the guild hall whilst carrying a large horn of a Demon she has slain, and after scolding several members of Fairy Tail, turns to Gray and Natsu, who are terrified of her, and asks them to tag along on her next mission. Although Natsu and Gray both refuse, they fall on deaf ears as Erza immediately sets forth with the pair. Mirajane takes note of the line up and declares it as possibly "the strongest team" in Fairy Tail before asking Lucy to tag along with them in order to keep Gray and Natsu from getting into their typical fights. On the day of their departure, in the train station, Lucy keeps the two from breaking into a brawl by lying that Erza is approaching. Once Erza actually arrives Lucy introduces herself to her, with Erza happily accepting Lucy's company. Natsu then challenges Erza to a fight once their mission ends, something she readily agrees to.
The team boards the train and, after knocking Natsu out to relieve him from his motion sickness, Erza explains the mission to her teammates. On her last job, Erza had apparently overheard other guild members talking about an accursed object called 'Lullaby', and a Mage named Erigor. She admits that she failed to recognise the serious of what she had heard and only realised her mistake upon returning to the guild. She recalls that Erigor was a member of the Dark Guild, Eisenwald and claims that such people would be up to no good. They were about to go exit from the train when they forgot Natsu who remains stuck on the train as it leaves the station, with Erza cursing herself for letting Natsu down.
Following a battle with some Eisenwald guild members, Natsu informs Lucy and the others, who have all caught up to him by this point, what happened and that the people he fought had a strange flute, displaying a skull with three eyes, in their possession. This description reminds Lucy of a story about the cursed flute, Lullaby, which kills anyone who hears a melody from it. Realising that Natsu had, accidentally, allowed them to escape, they rush to the train station that the Eisenwald Guld members are heading towards. On the way there, Happy mentions that he meant to tell Lucy something, but forgot, and as they try to enter the station. Due to his motion sickness, Lucy carries Natsu into the station, but comically makes his motion sickness worse as she is considered a means of transport. Inside, they are confronted by Eisenwald and Erigor, who explains that his plan is to use the station's loudspeakers to broadcast Lullaby.
Distracted by Erigor, Gray and Erza fail to notice one of Eisenwald's members, Kageyama, attacking Lucy, but Natsu saves her. Erigor then flees and Erza orders Natsu and Gray to chase after him whilst she and Lucy deal with the rest of his Dark Guild. Using her Magical Powers, Erza quickly dispatches all of their foes, with assist from Lucy, who summons the Celestial Spirit Cancer. One member, however, escapes and Erza calls upon Lucy to give chase. Lucy, along with Happy, loses sight of him and eventually reunite with the others and a stabbed Kageyama. The two then find out that they have been trapped in a barrier of impassable wind, having been tricked by Erigor.
Natsu continually tries to break through the barrier, but fails doing so and becomes frustrated. Lucy cries out for Natsu to stop, saying that he'll end up killing himself if he continues. She then grabs him and holds him from behind, clutching him worryingly. Natsu notices this and proceeds to look back at her, causing Lucy to question what is wrong. He then suggests using one of Lucy's spirits to pass through the barrier, remembering the time when he was transported from one point to another while holding on to Virgo back at Everlue's mansion. At this moment, Happy finally remembers his message for Lucy — upon Virgo's request, the golden key of the Maiden that was previously owned by Everlue was to be transferred to Lucy's ownership. Foregoing the usual process of contracting, Lucy summons Virgo and asks for the latter to use her superior digging powers to create a safe path of escape for them to use.
Natsu immediately rushes ahead with Happy to defeat Erigor. Bringing with them the injured Kageyama, Lucy, Erza, and Gray continue to travel along the train tracks, and eventually stumble upon Natsu, who successfully defeated Erigor. As the team rejoices (Natsu also asks Lucy for her to give him her clothes, which she strongly refuses to do), Kageyama unexpectedly makes a break for it, taking the flute with him. He aims to complete Eisenwald's original mission, which was to assassinate all the Guild Masters present in the annual meeting held in the town of Clover.
Team Natsu rushes to subdue him. However, they eventually discover that their assistance was not needed, as Master Makarov managed to sway Kageyama from his original purpose. The Guild Masters as well as Team Natsu begin to celebrate their apparent victory when all of a sudden, the flute begins to "speak", and manifests into a gargantuan demonic form, which was said to be the true embodiment of the cursed "Lullaby" . Erza, Natsu, and Gray engage in battle and swiftly defeat the monster. Their battle, however, inadvertently destroys the regular guild meeting hall, prompting Lucy and the other Fairy Tail members to make a quick getaway.
Galuna Island Arc[]
Natsu and Happy invite Lucy to embark on an S-Class Mission with them. She is horrified once she learns that, enticed by the hefty reward of such mission, Happy and Natsu decided to steal the mission's flyer. Natsu attempts to relieve her by saying it was the least-paying one out of the available S-class jobs. Lucy eventually concedes upon learning that a Golden Key of the Zodiac will also be given as reward.
Unable to find someone to ferry them across, Natsu contemplates resorting to swimming, but is stopped by Gray, who was ordered to bring them back. Just as they begin to fight, one of the sailors who had previously refused notices their Magic and agrees to sail them across, asking if they have come to lift the curse. Natsu then quickly knocks Gray out and drags him onto the boat. During the ride to the island, the sailor leading them suddenly disappears just before a tidal wave shipwrecks them on the island's shore.
After an unknown amount of time passes, Lucy is the first to regain consciousness, and asks if the others are fine as well. After Gray concedes to accompany them entirely to the mission, they all venture into the island, and eventually meet the denizens of Galuna and learn of the curse inflicting them that had apparently turned them into demons. The mayor of the town asks them to destroy the moon, believing it will free them from the curse. Realizing that the task he requires is impossible, Lucy and the others decide to investigate the island. While wandering through the forest, they encounter and defeat a giant mouse named Angelica. Though inadvertently, Angelica leads them to a huge temple where they discover the monster Deliora.
After learning about the plot to free Deliora and destroy the town, Lucy and Happy hurry off to warn and save the townsfolk. Lucy prepares very simple pit trap in front of the entrance to the village, which Happy pokes fun at. However, Natsu, who is rushing towards the village encased in ice, seemingly obvious to the trap, falls into it but is freed from his imprisonment upon impact. After all the work Lucy had put into it, their opponents effortlessly fly over the village, preparing to drop a vast amount of a poisonous jellylike substance. Natsu redirects the poison using his fire power and Virgo saves the mayor from being hit, but the village is destroyed. As Sherry Blendy, one of the people behind Lyon Vastia's scheme, flies off with her mouse Angelica, Lucy grabs on the rat's foot and tickles it, which results in all of them crashing to the ground.
Later on (when Sherry was defeated), Angelica was about to squish Lucy when Erza unprecedentedly shows up. Erza saves Lucy, but immediately apprehends her, stating that her only purpose was to retrieve her, Natsu, Happy and Gray. Gray argues and stands up to Erza, managing to convince her to abandon her original purpose momentarily in order to complete the S-Class mission and help the villagers. Lucy and Happy are visibly relieved by this. However, both are terrified as soon as Erza reminds them of the punishment that awaits them back at the guild.
After Lyon Vastia is defeated and Deliora is found to be dead, Team Natsu heads towards the camp set up for the villagers, but no one is to be seen there. As it turns out, the village has gone back to normal as if someone reversed time. With the mayor still insistent on destroying the moon, Erza discovers the truth about the island, and she and Natsu apparently destroy the moon, effectively lifting the curse from Galuna Island. In actuality, the Moon Drip caused a noxious membrane of magical energy to crystallize and form an invisible "shell" in the sky, covering the entire island. What they had destroyed wasn't the moon itself, but the aforesaid layering.
Without the layer in the sky, everything returns back to normal again. The people of the village are revealed to have been Demons to begin with, and the "curse" that befell upon them was actually the side-effects the Moon Drip has on demons. It trampled with their memories, deluding them into believing they were humans all along. As their first S-Class Mission is finally over, Erza declines the reward, but takes the Gold Key when the villagers say that it is a sign of their friendship.
Phantom Lord Arc[]
Natsu catches Lucy...
Lucy is captured by Phantom Lord master Jose Porla, now in the guild headquarters. The guild had to retreat because of the defeat of Makarov Dreyar, their master. Natsu overhears a conversation between Aria and Gajeel Redfox saying that they caught the girl they wanted, Lucy. Natsu grabs a random member and makes him tell him where she could be.
Lucy tricks the master who is currently holding her captive and proceeds to get out, only to find out she is being held prisoner in a sky prison. She jumps out, knowing that Natsu is there and he will save her. As she falls, she calls out for Natsu, who hears her call and returns with his own. He runs towards Lucy and, launching himself into the air, catches her in the nick of time.
Natsu carries Lucy back to the Guild
After he caught Lucy, Natsu saw Lucy crying which startles him. Happy and Natsu ask Lucy the reason why she is crying to which Lucy tearfully answers that everything is her fault. She states how she doesn't want to leave because she loves being a part of Fairy Tail. After that touching answer, Natsu states that she is one of them and that she doesn't have to leave. He then asks if she can stand, to which Lucy remains silent. Natsu decides to carry a tearful Lucy on his back, promising to himself that he will get revenge on Phantom Lord for what they have done.
Lucy cries for Natsu
Later on, Lucy is once again captured by Phantom Lord and subsequently beaten and tortured by Gajeel. Natsu manages to break in and save her from a potentially lethal blow at the last second. During their fight with Phantom Lord, Natsu fights with Gajeel with all his might to take revenge for hurting Lucy and the Guild. However, seeing how badly Natsu was getting beaten, Lucy began to cry for him. She calls out Sagittarius to help Natsu, asking him if there is anyway he can create fire. After Sagittarius successfully causes an explosion next to Natsu and Gajeel, which results in Nastu consuming the flames, Natsu begins his counterattack. Lucy was amazed after Natsu became victorious.
When Lucy left to confront her father, Natsu, along with everyone else, became very frustrated, thinking that she has decided to leave the Guild. He, along with Erza, Gray and Happy, goes to her mansion to bring her back. Upon arriving, they discover that she only went to warn her father to never bother Fairy Tail again and to give him her final goodbye. It was later stated by Happy that Natsu cried for Lucy when she left.
Loke Arc[]
As Natsu is incorrectly playing pool with Gray, Lucy takes on a "Special Mission" from Mirajane. As Team Natsu travels to their destination, Natsu succumbs, once again, to his motion sickness, and lies motionless. There, they find that their mission is to help a theater house with their production, which they do, but, consequently, they destroy the theater house in the process. However, to everyone's surprise, the play becomes quite popular.
After defeating some troublemakers in Balsam Village, Natsu and the others decides to stay at an inn for the night. As they are talking, they notice Loke in the distance, and try to speak to him, but Loke, upon noticing Lucy's presence, runs away. During their stay at the inn, Natsu starts a pillow fight between Gray, Erza, and himself. With Gray apparently winning, Natsu, unable to accept his loss, calls on Lucy to make a judgement. Upon noticing Loke's disappearance, Natsu searches for his fellow Fairy Tail Mage.
Tower of Heaven Arc[]
Later on, Loke gives Lucy and Team Natsu tickets to a resort, as he proceeds to carry her bridal-style, and claim to talk about their future. Some time later, the team arrives at their vacation spot, and decompresses. However, problems arise and Erza gets kidnapped by her old friends. Lucy and her team, along with Juvia, aided by Natsu's heightened sense of smell, follow Erza into the Tower of Heaven. There, they go on a quest to rescue Erza from the clutches of Jellal Fernandes and his minions.
After the abduction of both Erza and Happy, Natsu, incensed by Wally's attempt to kill him, assists the others, with the newly arrived Juvia Lockser, in tracking Erza, which he successfully does by using his keen sense of smell, resulting in the group's arrival at the Tower of Heaven. Upon their arrival, the team uses Juvia's oxygen bubbles to sneak into the Tower's basement via an underwater tunnel, and Natsu's urge to fight is quelled, as the guards attempt to stop them. After meeting up with Erza, Natsu separates from the group, seeking to locate Happy.
After this, Simon asks Gray to lead everyone off the Tower and Lucy watches from afar in a boat as Natsu defeats Jellal, and completely destroys the tower. As Erza's friends leave to try to learn more about the "outside world" before truly trying to live a new life, Lucy sees them off, together with the rest of the Fairy Tail members, by making some fireworks with her Celestial Spirit Magic.
Battle of Fairy Tail Arc[]
Before going to her bed, Lucy notices Natsu's scarf and pulls him out of her bed. She tells Natsu and Happy to leave, but Natsu falls back on her bed, the side effects of consuming Etherion affecting him. Lucy is informed by Happy that the two came to her house to tell her about the "Miss Fairy Tail" contest. A contest that would soon be held during the Harvest Festival, with a 500,000 reward of the winner of the contest, an amount enough to cover Lucy's rent.
After the spell Evergreen casted which turned Lucy and the other girls of Fairy Tail into stone was lifted (to Natsu’s shock and relief), Natsu then admits his views on how Laxus should be dealt with, declaring the coup the “Second Battle of Fairy Tail. Lucy nervously tells him to stop and points out it sounds serious when he says it. Natsu then teasingly chases Lucy to start things (after telling Happy gender doesn’t matter when it comes to picking fights), with Cana, Levy and Bisca laughing, while Juvia admits the guild is fun upon seeing the two.
When Lucy defeated Bickslow, Natsu believed that she could win, though Gajeel had doubts that she could. Natsu then gets into an argument with Gajeel when the Iron Dragon Slayer calls Lucy a “bunny girl” and questions how she could win, with Natsu angrily defending Lucy by referring to the “Tortoise and the Hare” story, with Gajeel eventually caving in (by nervously admitting that focused training pays off) after Natsu says the bunny won “about a hundred times in a row” after losing in the first round. This also allows Levy to fully rewrite Fried’s runes and let the Dragon Slayers fight.
After Laxus’ banishment and the Fantasia parade, Natsu then offers to go out on a job with Lucy, who is despondent over being unable to get the rent money from the Miss Fairy Tail contest, with Lucy crying tears of joy and thanking Natsu. Later, in the anime only, when Lucy is stalked by her father, who then leaves when told to, Natsu is seen standing near Lucy’s front door with Happy when he learned Lucy had a grim feeling of being stalked. Natsu then attacks Gray when the ice wizard is seen hiding to check on Lucy, with Natsu bitterly expressing disgust for “stalking” her.
Oración Seis Arc[]
Lucy blushed
After her fight with Angel, Lucy, in spite of a deep and badly bleeding wound on her left arm, rushes towards a motion sickness struck Natsu. However, Angel rises from the water and tries one final attack with Caelum, but the attack misses. Although it failed, it did make the raft Natsu was on detach from the log that it was stuck against. Lucy, having boarded it to protect her friend, sails down rapids and is shocked to see an approaching waterfall. Noticing that there isn't enough time to react, Lucy firmly clutches Natsu, refusing to let go as they fall down the roaring waterfall. Some time passes before they regain consciousness. When they come to, they realize that Lucy's celestial spirit, Virgo, passed through the celestial gate on her own and saved the two of them. She also is responsible for bandaging Lucy's wound and giving them both matching sets of clothes, with Lucy stating that it really isn't necessary. Natsu then turns to Lucy and thanks her for saving him, making her blush, which Virgo teases Lucy about how the two like each other, with Lucy criticising Virgo for imitating Happy.
Later, when Natsu and Lucy head for Nirvana alongside Gray by climbing the structure (in the anime, they run up instead the legs), Gray questions why Natsu and Lucy are wearing matching outfits, with Lucy telling him not to ask. When Nirvana starts to move, Lucy expresses worry when Natsu begins to suffer from motion sickness, and tells him to think of it as an octopus (Natsu at first questions the logic of it, but Lucy dismisses it.). Lucy then panics as Natsu falls and expresses relief as Happy rushes in to save the Fire Dragon Slayer.
Daphne Arc[]
Note: The events in this arc occur only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.
When Natsu was captured by Daphne, Lucy told him that "A Natsu that doesn't know the feelings of his friends isn't the Natsu I know." This statement makes Natsu angry and one of the little Natsus responds with "that hurts."
Edolas Arc[]
When Natsu and the others, who were hiding after being nearly captured by the guards, discover Lucy being interrogated and almost captured by the guards. Natsu rushes out of their hiding place despite having no magic power in hopes to save Lucy. In the Royal city of Edolas, Natsu becomes furious after finding out that his guildmates have been turned into a Lacrima. He attempts to cause a scene but is stopped by a tearful Lucy holding him back. When they were captured, Natsu became enraged after over hearing that Lucy was going to be executed. He threatened to turn everyone into ash if they so much as touched her.
Lucy hugs Natsu
Later on after being saved by Earthland's Gray and Erza, Lucy and Gray locate where Natsu and Wendy are being held captive. After discovering the two being unconscious due to having their magic drained, Lucy worryingly holds Natsu.
During their fight with Hughes and Sugarboy, Lucy did her best to free Natsu, who was trapped on the Hell Rollercoaster, with Hughes then taking a hilarious photo of the two on the rollercoaster, much to Lucy’s annoyance. After Natsu got off, he and Lucy were blown away by Hughes' attack to a place called Monster Academy. Lucy was trapped in a costume actor box. When Natsu found out the secret of the box, he started playing with it, making Lucy change into various weird outfits, much to her annoyance. Lucy also did the same to Natsu in return. Natsu tried to use Lucy's sexy seduction method to lure Hughes and was very disappointed when it failed. (In the English dub, Natsu believed the monsters would think Lucy was cute, and becomes frustrated when Lucy does “the total opposite of cuteness”, with Lucy screaming “Well, excuse me!”)
Tenrou Island Arc[]
Natsu tries to free Lucy
At the Tenrou Island, Natsu was continually encouraging Lucy. During their fight with Kain Hikaru, Natsu and Lucy fought together, putting aside their rivalry of the S-class exams and temporarily reforming their team. When Kain takes control of Lucy’s body, she lashes out at Natsu with a punch, which he was able to evade. But, Lucy's unpredictable movements prove too much for him to handle. Eventually, Natsu manages to restrain her and restrict her movement. He then asks her if she is more powerful being controlled by Kain's curse magic. Once Kain sees the two in the locked hold, he grows angered pointing towards them yelling "H-hey don't get all lovey dovey!" They both yell back that they are not "lovey dovey". (In the English dub, Kain furiously shouts “Don’t you two have any decency?! Quit being cuddly and kissing in the middle of the battlefield!” with Natsu and Lucy angrily retorting “We’re not doing either of those, you perv!” Happy snidely dismisses his friends’ denial and says they’re totally in love.)
Upon seeing this, Happy rolls his tongue and says that they like each other. Happy then snatches the Mr Cursey doll and in the time he has it, messes with it so that Natsu’s face is pushed into Lucy’s chest, much to an embarrassed Lucy’s anger. When Natsu then becomes trapped under a pile of rocks after taking a blow from Kain, Lucy was being brutally attacked by him. Natsu told her to run so that she could save herself but Lucy refused, stating that it has always been more fun when they are together and she would not run away by herself. Fortunately, Natsu is able to reach for the Mr Cursey doll and controls Lucy to beat up Kain at full force, calling her “the strongest Lucy”, and using his fire and Happy’s Max Speed, turn Lucy into a fireball to ultimately defeat Kain.
Natsu holds Lucy’s hand
During their fight with Hades, when Natsu was almost about to get killed, Lucy begged Hades not to kill him. Natsu grabs Lucy's arm, who is tightly hugging him due to fear. He then states how they have nothing to fear as their friends are this close by. This encourages everyone and they continue their fight. During the final part of the battle against Hades, Natsu's scarf comes off. Knowing how important the memento of his foster father is to Natsu, Lucy dives after it, almost falling off the airship in doing so, but managing to save it and holds onto it until the battle's end. Lucy then nicely gives Natsu back his scarf, knowing how much it means to him.[1]
When Acnologia was about to attack and destroy the island, Natsu was the one to comfort Lucy and give her hope. He held her hand, saying that they won't let it end here and that they will all return to Fairy Tail.
X791 Arc[]
Lucy along with the rest of the members trapped in Tenrou Island, returns to the Fairy Tail Guild after being found by Bisca, Alzack, Jet, Droy, Max, Warren and The Trimens from Blue Pegasus. She watches as Mavis Vermilion reveals that she was the one who saved them, before disappearing again. Lucy, along with the other returning members, is welcomed back by Romeo.
After celebrating the return of the missing members, Lucy realizes her father must have been worried and goes to visit him at the Love & Lucky guild along with Natsu and Happy. However, she is told by a member that her father died over a month ago, which greatly shocks her.
A distraught Lucy, along with Happy and Natsu, is later seen walking on the road home. Here the group encounters two girls complaining about their fathers and wishing they were dead. This angers Natsu and results in him yelling at the girls, screaming at them to read the air and then go away when they don’t listen. Lucy tells him to stop and apologizes for making them worry about her. When Lucy says that she thinks she hates her father, Natsu replies that simply because she can't cry that doesn't change how she feels. Later, Natsu and Happy arrive with a job to cheer Lucy up. However, they are shocked when the Landlady informs them the letter that came for Lucy also came with seven years worth of rent. As they run off to do the job (now apparently the only ones without food or money) they tell Lucy that they'll bring her back some food. As they say this, she thinks to herself that despite the seven years that had passed without them, they will be living in this world regardless, so she tells Happy and Natsu that she is coming along as well.
Key of the Starry Sky Arc[]

Natsu and Lucy dancing
Natsu and Happy take up a job that requests to have a man named Velveno captured and put in jail. The client of the job, Count Balsamico, hosts a ball every seven years which only wizards may attend. The purpose of the ball is to find an appropriate husband for Balsamico's daughter, Aceto. The wizards going on the mission must practice social dancing because the event is a ball. Lucy and Natsu dance together when they practice for the ball, but Natsu keeps stepping on Lucy's foot. Lucy, Natsu, Warren, Gray, Erza, Elfman, Happy, Carla and Wendy take the quest.
After their job had a touching ending, Lucy wishes that one day someone would propose to her in a similar manner. Natsu approaches to Lucy from behind and calls her name. Blushing, Lucy turns around but finds that he is actually planning to go back because he has eaten too much, showing his round belly. Lucy begs him to stay and asks him to dance with her. Natsu and Lucy are seen dancing together while Natsu is still stepping on Lucy's feet, and the Troia that Wendy cast on him to prevent his motion sickness on the moving dancing platforms runs out.
As Natsu and Happy barges into Lucy's apartment again and read her novel, Lucy gets mad and embarrassed with them. Lucy asks why are they here, which Natsu replies that they have and job to do and says that work isn't the same without Lucy. Lucy, then gets touched by this but then gets annoyed and angry when Natsu and Happy ask for food, which makes Lucy kick them out. Then after Lucy turns invisible and starts a brawl in the guild, Natsu ends up colliding into her naked body and after she shouts in pain, Natsu is able to notice her presence through her scent. An overjoyed Natsu attempts to hug her, but accidentally touches her breast, which causes her to slap him in retaliation while blushing. Then, while Lucy was asking the guild what to do about her invisibility. Natsu comes with an idea to "burn all the potion stuff", which fails. After a lot of attempts to reverse the potion effect. Lucy starts disappearing out of existence with no one remembering her. She attempts to call out to the guild, first starting with Natsu, but to no avail and screams to herself in despair about her supposed fate. After Natsu finishes his meal, he tells Happy to find Lucy, which Natsu now remembers Lucy and brings her back to existence. Lucy then thanks Natsu for bringing her back. Wendy also believes that Natsu was the one who “broke the spell” of the potion. (In the English dub, Max states Wendy is right and Macao even chimes in by saying that while Natsu’s mind forgot her, Lucy was still in his heart.)
In their first encounters with Dan Straight, the flirtatious knight vividly declares his love for Lucy, which makes Natsu increasingly jealous and attempt to attack. Then during Natsu’s fight with Earthland-Byro, Lucy has faith that Natsu can defeat him, with Natsu resolving to take back the clock handle from Byro and claiming the Legion Platoon’s leader as nothing but a thief for stealing the memento Lucy’s father left to her through Michelle. During the fight with Kanaloa, Byro’s octopus, Lucy summons Aquarius to save Natsu from the octopus’ poisonous ink. Natsu then thanks Lucy.
When Lucy was getting depressed about getting the message from Key of The Starry Heavens incorrect, Natsu cheered her up by telling her is was not her fault; when Lucy asks if he was actually trying to cheer her up he admitted it but also blushed when he told her to not get used to it. At this, Gray remarks on how Natsu needs a lesson on flirting.
When Michelle reveals her true form as Imitatia, Natsu, angered by her betrayal, attempts to attack her, only to stop when Lucy pleads for him not to attack, even though he gets knocked unconscious. After Natsu regains consciousness, he quickly realises Lucy is in danger and tries to break out of the cell with magic at first to no avail. However, with help from the so-called “true scoundrels” known as the Butt Jiggle Gang, Natsu is able to break out, determined to save Lucy. And as the Fairy Tail guild members fly abroad the Blue Pegasus’ Christina with Ichiya on their way to save Natsu and Lucy, Happy assures everyone that Natsu will be fine, and as long as he is, so will Lucy, which Gray fully agrees.
When Lucy was captured by Reborn Oracion Seis, Natsu bravely fought and defeated Midnight to free Lucy. Natsu was very worried for Lucy the entire time. He also opposed the idea of putting Lucy's life in risk to free her, even attempting to fight Byro, who believed killing Lucy was the only way to save the world. Gildarts then confronts Byro, after he tells Natsu to go on ahead and save Lucy, with Natsu asking Gildarts to give Byro a good beating. Natsu then confronts Imitatia, declaring that he will save Lucy no matter what and tells her to “hang in there” when he sees her losing her mind to the Infinity Clock. Natsu berates Imitatia for not considering what Lucy would want and states he knows Lucy can forgive her. He then steels himself to defeat Imitatia after a grief-stricken Romeo is defeated, vowing to save Lucy no matter what.
Lucy used her power to control the Real Nightmare to help Natsu in his fight against Midnight and told him to apologize to Michelle and give Natsu back when he was trapped in Genesis Zero. When Natsu regained consciousness after Lucy reversed the anti-link which caused the Infinity Castle to fall apart, he notices she isn't present, and begins to worry. After being told to calm down by Erza, he states that it is impossible for him to do so until she is found. During this exchange, Natsu recognizes Lucy's scent and rushes off to catch her as she was falling down. While running to catch his friend, he tripped and fell which caused Lucy to shed tears when she saw what happened to him. Despite this, he quickly gets back to his feet and catches her just as she was about to hit the ground, resulting in Lucy blushing as she looks at him.
Grand Magic Games Arc[]
While Lucy is losing the fight to Flare, Natsu's excellent hearing allows him to hear that Flare is cheating, being the only one in the audience to know Lucy was trying to protect Asuka before destroying the strand of Flare’s hair near Asuka, freeing her. After Natsu helps her, Lucy thanks him and breaks free from Flare’s hold with Gemini. Natsu smiles when she casts Urano Metria, and later expresses anger when Obra cancels out Lucy’s magic at the last second.
After Lucy's loss to Flare Corona, she cries due to the frustration that she lost. Natsu is there to encourage her and even held out his hand, stating that having zero points makes it fun and that they would turn it around from that point on to “pay [Raven Tail] back a hundred times over”. He also told Lucy to save the tears for when they win and that she proved the seven-year gap means nothing and that Fairy Tail still has a fighting chance, calling her “amazing”. Lucy then replies by tearfully agreeing with Natsu and saying how she is now fired up. Later, when she was in the infirmary due to several injuries, Natsu was one of the first people who noticed she wasn't there, as well as Wendy and Porlyusica.
When Lucy was taking a shower after her loss to Flare, Natsu immediately turned around and said "I will go check up on her," after Natsu says she is alright to Erza, resulting in Elfman saying he can't. Natsu at first doesn't understand why, but then realizes before he is stopped by Erza, who tells him the second match is about to begin, which prevents him from peeping. In addition, when Lucy lost both matches against Flare and Minerva, Natsu was supposedly the first one to be at her side, and even rested her head on his lap. In the anime, after Ultear and Meredy sabotage Jellal’s match against Jura, Lucy feels upset about Fairy Tail’s current standing in the games, but Natsu cheers her up by he will turn things around by participating in tomorrow’s event. On the Second Day, as Natsu, Gajeel and Sting struggle on the moving vehicles in the Chariot event for the final places, Sting questions why Fairy Tail entered the Grand Magic Games in the first place, arguing that the old version of Fairy Tail would have never cared about what others thought of them. However, Natsu retorts that it is all for the sake of the guild members that had been waiting the last seven years for the Tenrou Team’s return and vows to keep moving forward for them. Among the overjoyed guild mates, Lucy is seen smiling with a light blush on her face. Later on, when Natsu is resting in the infirmary, Lucy asks Poryluscia if he will be alright, with the medical advisor assuring her the Dragon Slayer will be alright since it is only motion sickness.
In the anime, during Mirajane and Jenny’s battle, all of the teams (except Raven Tail and Sabertooth) take part in the “Blushing Bride” portion, with Lucy and Natsu initially being approached by Loke and Lisanna respectively. However, after Lucy and Loke crash into Natsu, the Celestial Spirit returns to his world, while Lucy and Natsu are left with each other. Lisanna then smiles and laughs seeing Natsu and Lucy paired together (even though they are still reeling from the collision).
On the Fourth Day, Lucy requested to participate in Naval Battle to make up for her failings on the First Day, with Natsu cheering for her alongside the rest of Team Fairy Tail A, believing she can win with Aquarius when she summons the Water Bearer. Lucy survives attack after attack from the other competitors, most notably, Juvia, and eventually, she and Minerva are the only ones left in the water, invoking the five minute rule. Despite her best efforts, Lucy is brutalized and tortured by Minerva, who uses her as an example. She also refuses to let Lucy get off easily by being disqualified, livid after Lucy declares she will stand against the Sabertooth mage for her friends’ sake. Natsu screams for Minerva to stop and furiously glares at the sneering Sabertooth team (excluding Rouge), alongside Erza and Gray, who angrily declare to them “You guys are gonna pay for this!”. After the five minute rule is over, Minerva holds Lucy outside the sphere, battered and broken, in a trophy-like fashion, before dropping her to the ground below. Luckily, Natsu and Gray ran from the stands and caught Lucy moments before she was about to hit the ground. As Lucy is being treated by Wendy and Chelia, Natsu, filled with anger, almost attacks Minerva but is stopped by the rest of the Sabertooth guild as well as Erza, who warns them they have made an enemy of the worst possible guild to anger.
After being taken into the infirmary, surrounded by both Fairy Tail teams, Lucy apologizes to everyone. Instead everyone encourages her commenting on good she did and she falls asleep holding her keys. After Makarov informs them that they will have to combine the teams into five members, Natsu stands up, enraged saying that he will get revenge for Lucy and that he won't forgive them for laughing at his friend. As the new Fairy Tail takes the field, Lucy wishes for everyone to give it their all.
Natsu talking to Lucy
Lucy awakens to Wendy and Carla informing her of what is going on in the tournament and that Natsu would come and see her before his match, relieved that she has not missed it. Before the match between Lamia Scale and Mermaid Heel, Natsu feels distraught about Lucy and everyone else in the infirmary being unable to watch the match (he says “It’s just that Lucy, Elfman and the others probably wish they could watch the matches too.”). Erza then cheers him up by saying that they can try to watch the fight and remember all of the details. Before Natsu and Gajeel's fight against the Sabertooth mages, Sting and Rogue, Natsu went to a waking Lucy to see if she was feeling any better. Lucy says she’s getting better and asks if his match is next and he says that it is and that he would win it for sure. Before Natsu left, Lucy told Natsu that she believes in him and always had ever since she joined the guild, blushing. As he heads out, he asks Wendy and Carla to take care of her, thanking them and saying Lucy’s in “good hands”. Carla then noticed Lucy’s grin and asks what were the two talking about. Right before the battle starts between Natsu and Gajeel vs. Sting and Rogue, Lucy is seen smiling and whispering Natsu's name in her sleep, saying she has faith in him. During the battle, while Natsu and Gajeel gain the upper hand against the Twin Dragons, Lucy wakes and sits up in the bed. Carla states Lucy should be resting, but Lucy says that she is fine and wants to be awake when Natsu wins, even believing Natsu will be fine when the Twin Dragons activate Dragon Force and wishing for him to stay strong. Furthermore, when it seems Natsu and Gajeel have lost, Lucy assures Wendy and Carla that it’s not over yet and internally prays for them to be safe; she then smiles when the crowd cheers from Natsu and Gajeel getting back up, believing they would never give up. Later on, when Natsu tells Sting he would use his Dragon Slayer magic to fight for his friends Sabertooth laughed at, Lucy smiles with a blush on her face. Then, before Natsu defeats Sting and Rouge, Lucy remembers her discussion with Natsu beforehand, and does the signature Fairy Tail gesture with a smile, before the rest of the guild follows suit.
After Natsu and Gajeel's fight with the twin dragons of Sabertooth, Gajeel brings them to a dragon graveyard below the arena where they encounter Yukino and Arcadios, who states that he would need the help of a Celestial Spirit Mage for their Eclipse project. Natsu immediately confronts him and demands to know why he needs one. Later, the group learns about the Eclipse project and its purpose, but were interrupted when the Fiore army comes to arrest both Lucy and Yukino. Lucy angrily fights against it and Natsu attempts to save her, but his magic was drained by the Eclipse gate (much to Lucy’s worry) like the rest of the other Fairy Tail mages and he's thrown out of the castle. When Lucy was captured, Natsu was seriously worried about her and every second he just wanted to break into the castle and rescue her. Despite this, Erza and the others tied him down in order to prevent a scene. Natsu then breaks free and tells everyone that they need to do something, but Makarov quickly calms him down and assures him that while they cannot rush in headlong to save Lucy, they will not let the Royal Army get away with what they have done.
When the rescue teams comes to save Lucy, she expresses her joy by calling out to them, only for Natsu to cover her mouth, telling her to keep her voice down. Just when they thought that the rescue operation had been a success, the group falls and find themselves in the "Abyss Palace", the last freedom allowed to criminals. Happy then proposes (in the anime only) that Lucy and Mirajane use their sex appeal to attract the guards and escape the Abyss Palace. Lucy is visibly embarrassed about this strategy, with her constantly protesting while an eager Natsu condones it. While trying to find a way out, Lucy questions Natsu as to why he did not participate in the final tournament and Happy replies, telling her that he could not keep himself still and only thought about rescuing her, causing Lucy to blush and say that they are flattering her. While searching for a way out, Carla finds a narrow passage way that they think they might be able to get through. The passage way being as narrow as it is causes everyone a hard time trying to squeeze through. Lucy ends up getting stuck, to which Natsu claims that she probably gained weight. Lucy says that she doesn't need his rudeness and asks him to help pull her out. While trying to pull her out, and successfully doing so, Lucy winds up sitting on Natsu's face. Blushing heavily, Lucy claims it was an accident. Moments later, they encounter a group of mysterious people who call themselves the Garou Knights, the most powerful executioners of Fiore. The Garou knights manage to split up Lucy, Yukino and the rescue team and fights each of them separately. Natsu, before his fight, asks his opponent what the point is in conducting the rescue operation if he were to lose sight of Lucy for even a moment.
After they defeat the Garou knights and resume their search on finding an exit, they meet a cloaked figure, who sobs and asks them to lend her their power. The cloaked figure is revealed to be Lucy from the future, and she collapses before them, which afterwards Natsu decides to take her with them (In the anime only, Natsu points out that the future Lucy is lighter than the present Lucy, much to Lucy’s embarrassment and annoyance). When she awakens, she tells the group that a herd of 10,000 dragons were going to attack Fiore and she wonders if anyone would doubt her premonition, to which Natsu (who starts preparing for battle) answers her that no one would doubt the words coming out of Lucy's mouth, causing her to blush. As future Lucy explains to the group what happened in her timeline and what will happen in in their timeline, Lucy claims that she came without any plan of action and that she doesn't know what else to do. She even says she’s sorry for everything, but Natsu steps in telling her to leave it to them and that there is no reason to apologise. With tears in her eyes and a slight blush, Natsu touches his forehead to hers while thanking her for giving them a future. The present Lucy also smiles and blushes seeing the affection.
Later, she takes the group through an underground passage where they face off with many guards of the Royal Army, as well as the Garou Knights once again. Just then, a shadow swallows the enemies while Lucy and the rest of the group stands there in shock. A man then appears before them, saying that he is the Rogue from the future and that he came here to kill a person that would interfere with the opening of the Eclipse gate, which was the key to defeating the 10,000 dragons. This person who led the world to destruction was identified as none other than Lucy herself. Rogue lashes out at her as Natsu cries for his friend. Lucy's future counterpart leaps in front of her, acting as a human shield and protecting Lucy from the attack. Though gravely wounded and surrounded by her grieving friends, she tells them that she is not from this time, as well as this world, and that the Lucy in this world would continue living on with her friends. Future Lucy then asks her present self to show her the guild mark on her right hand. Noticing that future Lucy had lost her right arm, Natsu pursed his lips in anger as he remembered the time when Lucy proudly showed him her Fairy Tail guild mark. Future Lucy makes a statement on how she was glad that she had the chance to see everyone again and how she wanted to go on more adventures. She then proceeds to tell Natsu to protect the future before passing away. Angered by the death of her future self, Lucy argues with Future Rogue about her future actions. Just as Future Rouge, disregarding Future Lucy’s words as delusions, was about to lash out another attack to kill the present Lucy, a grief-stricken and furious (shown with a red eye filled with anger) Natsu punches him with tears flowing down his cheek, vowing to turn fate into ash and saying that he would not let him steal Lucy's future (in the English dub, he shouts “I ain’t letting anybody steal Lucy’s future! Not while I’m alive!”) while he was alive and that he promises to protect it. He tells Lucy to leave, though she protests before Loke pulls her away, telling her to leave it to Natsu. As they run down the hallway, Lucy turns to take a look at her friend once more, before disappearing out of sight. As Natsu's fight with the future Rogue continues, he tells him that he stole something precious to him before his eyes and that his way of protecting the future was wrong and they were going to protect it their own way. Natsu even defends the present Lucy by declaring that she would never hurt their future and vows to prevent Future Rogue from killing her. Both Natsu and Lucy vow to protect the future for the Future Lucy as they respectively move to defeat the White Shadow Dragon Slayer and seal the Eclipse Gate to prevent more dragons from arriving in Crocus from the past. Lucy then smiles when she hears Natsu’s voice as he calls out to the other six Dragon Slayers after attacking Motherglare, much to Future Rogue’s anger.
Sometime later, Lucy is stripped naked and almost eaten by the dragon, Zirconis. Mirajane and Wendy attack, causing an angry Zirconis to throw Lucy across Crocus. Flying through the air, Lucy crashes straight into Natsu as he battles Future Rogue (in the anime, Future Rouge questions why Natsu still fights, and the latter remarks he still has a promise to keep), sending them both toppling off of the dragon and landing them in a church bell screaming, much to his confusion. As the two move about trying to get Natsu off of Lucy's naked form (in the English dub, Natsu screams “Damn it, Lucy! This is hardly the time to seduce the guys!”, with a humiliated Lucy telling him to shut up), they cause the bell to teeter and fall from where it was perched, crashing them into the ground. Natsu then asks why Lucy flew through the air naked (In the English dub, Natsu says he’s starting to think Lucy likes fighting naked). Telling Natsu not to look, Natsu hastily grabs Lucy's breasts to try and cover them from his eyes, which only insults her more and she punches him, screaming for him to cover his eyes instead. Much to her further embarrassment, Happy arrives with her keys, teasing the two. Natsu tells Happy that Lucy has turned into a pervert, which she denies and explains the real reason she was naked (In the English dub, Happy teasingly asks if he came at a bad time, only for Natsu to bitterly shout, “Very funny! Don’t blame me - blame Fairy Tail’s resident flasher, Lucy ‘Heart-feel-me-up!’” Happy then asks if Natsu wanted to see more and Lucy told the Exceed to shut it, with Natsu seeing enough, annoyed at Future Rouge’s strength and Motherglare fighting alongside him.).
As Lucy covers herself with a blanket, she points out that all of the dragons are strong, and becomes upset thinking about how she could have almost been eaten. Natsu however, suddenly smiles, and, grabbing her (making the blanket fall - in the anime, she screams in horror and hits Natsu, calling him a pervert again), gleefully states that she has helped him to come up with a strategy to defeat the dragons. As Natsu and Happy take off with their strategy in mind, they leave Lucy behind because she took too long picking out her outfit from Virgo. (In the anime only, Natsu states Lucy doesn’t need clothes, only for her to retort that she’s “not saving the world in a tablecloth”, with Natsu even rushing off despite Lucy stating she won’t take long to change, only for Happy to say they could miss the fight if they wait, with Natsu taking off to carry out his strategy). Lucy comments, saying that he's gone and done it now by coming up with a ridiculous strategy (in the English dub, she states, “As usual, Natsu’s plan involves rushing in without a strategy”, but believes he will pull through) but she says that he'll figure something out because that's Natsu. Virgo butts in and says that the two did share a naked embrace with one another, however Lucy states that's not it. (In the anime, Virgo instead says she is close enough to “play with [Natsu] in the nude”, with Lucy telling her Celestial Spirit to knock it off in embarrassment.).
Then it goes to a scene where it shows present Rouge talking to a dragon that tells him of his future self that brought the dragons there/here. Rouge denies it. Near by it shows Ultear wanting to kill present Rouge to prevent future Rouge from ever coming. We then go to a flashback when Natsu was being swallowed by one of future Rouge's shadows. Meredy and Ultear try to pull him out. Natsu grabs Ultear's hand and gets out himself saying that he made a promise to future Lucy to protect the future. He walks over to future Lucy’s dead body and sobs, seeing Rogue as his own enemy for killing her. Ultear suggests to kill the present Rouge to prevent his future self. Natsu says no, and that they’d be killing an innocent human, despite Ultear’s protest that Natsu’s too emotional to fight Future Rogue. Natsu states that the present Rogue is a different person than his future self and asks Ultear to promise him that she won'’t kill him. She promises. Then we go back to the present moment, and Ultear says there's no other way, despite the promise she made to Natsu.
Lucy embraces Natsu from behind.
After the dragons and Future Rogue vanish, Future Lucy, after disappearing too, is seen laying in a golden field somewhere with her right hand restored. She questions where she is before hearing a voice and turning around to see Natsu and Happy telling her to get over here. Natsu then happily drags her to where the rest of Fairy Tail is and tells her that is it time to continue on their adventure, resulting in Lucy crying from happiness. Back in the real world, the present Lucy is seen crying (due to future Lucy crying) and goes behind Natsu and hugs him from the back. Natsu asks her if something is wrong, and Lucy tells him that it’s nothing and that she just wanted to say "thank you" under the moonlight as the moon returns to a brilliant white.

At the banquet, Princess Hisui asked Lucy where Natsu was as the latter admitted she didn't know. Lucy was also amused to see Natsu dressed up as the king. In the anime, Lucy gives Natsu a glass of water when he chokes on his food, teasingly asking if he forgot to chew. Natsu and Lucy then, among everyone present attempt to defend Hisui from punishment by her father, with Natsu even saying that the princess was the reason the guilds in Fiore all united in the first place. Natsu and Lucy then both smile at Hisui wearing Touma’s pumpkin head, with the two and Happy also wearing spare pumpkin heads as a “pumpkin party”.
Eclipse Celestial Spirits Arc[]

Natsu and Happy accompany Lucy and Yukino to Star Hill to give favours to the 12 Zodiac Spirits, with them promising to help Lucy out if anything happened. When Virgo asks for punishment, and Lucy only gives a forehead flick, Natsu decides to step in to give Virgo a bigger punishment, only to be stopped by Lucy. Natsu then expresses surprise at Virgo enjoying the forehead flick, with him and Happy calling it her secret weapon. Later, when Happy panics from Sagittarius attempting to shoot an apple off his head, Natsu assures him it will be fine, reminiding him of the promise they made for Lucy. Then when Gemini transform into a towel-clad Lucy, an embarrassed Lucy tells Natsu not to look and sends the mischievous twins back to the Celestial Spirit World, huffing out of exasperation and exhaustion. Natsu asks if Lucy is alright, saying she “seems kinda tired”. Lucy remarks, still with a blush on her face, that her “patience has completely exhausted”, but then says “I’m fine, I suppose”.
Later on, Lucy expresses anger and disgust for Loke (who is flirting with Yukino) punching Natsu away with Regulus Impact twice (before the second time, Lucy worriedly tells a raging Natsu not to attack Loke again, alas to no avail), furiously telling the Lion that he crossed the line and sent him back to the Spirit World. Lucy’s final spirit is an irritated Aquarius, who then accuses Lucy of knowledge of Scorpio cheating on the Water Bearer, only for Natsu to flatly dismiss the mermaid’s tirade and state she herself was responsible for saying that. Natsu then laughs his head off at Lucy’s skit of “Sleeping Beauty” while Happy cringes and Aquarius rages.
Due to Fiore's sudden drastic changes in weather, a lot of people start to send job requests to Mages guilds for help with the weather. There have been so many requests that Mirajane Strauss, Kinana, Lucy, Natsu, and Happy are the only people left at Fairy Tail. Among the Mages who have gone on these jobs are Gray and Juvia, who cool down a town suffering from heat waves; Erza, who is helping with repairs for damages caused by weather; and Wendy together with Carla, who moves a ship that can't move due to lack of wind. There don't seem to be any jobs left for Natsu and Lucy, but Mirajane has saved a job suited for the latter in a village called Seabellus. The goal of this job is to help investigate whether or not the strange weather is related to Celestial Spirits somehow.
Arriving at their destination, the Mages wonder if it really is Seabellus, seeing as there doesn't seem to be a village anywhere. They don't have much time to ponder this as a giant sea slug comes out of the water and starts attacking them. Natsu first senses the sea slug’s presence after reeling from his motion sickness and rushes in quickly. Lucy attempts to summon Aquarius, but strangely, nothing happens. Natsu tries hitting the sea slug with his Magic, but unfortunately gets swallowed by the slug. Lucy tries to summon another spirit, but none of her golden keys work. Natsu gets out of the slug, and defeats it by using Fire Dragon's Roar into its mouth, which blows it away. Natsu then asks if Lucy is alright when she looks worried about being unable to summon her Zodiac spirits.
Lucy then tries summoning all her Spirits, but to no avail. After a while she realizes she hasn't tried using one of her silver keys, so she summons Crux, who falls over as soon as he arrives. Seeing that Crux is beat up, the Mages ask him what happened to him. Crux tells them something terrible has happened to the Celestial Spirit World but before he can say much, a mysterious person arrives (Natsu then grabs Lucy, Happy and Crux at the last second), and grabs Crux with a whip. They aren't sure who it is, but Natsu recognizes the scent, and to their surprise, it's Virgo, who looks and acts extremely different from before. Meanwhile, at the guild hall, the rest of Team Natsu, Kinana and Mira discuss with Yukino about having the same dilemma as Lucy. Wendy expresses worry of Lucy being in trouble if her spirits cannot help her, but Gray (who then expresses surprise at what he says) that she is with Natsu and will be fine.
Virgo forces Crux back to the Celestial Spirit World while Natsu and Happy question if she really is Virgo, but Lucy can tell that she is still the same Spirit, even if she's completely different. Natsu tries to fight Virgo, but Lucy stops them, saying that she will take care of it as they have a contract. Virgo seems confused by this, and Lucy asks if she has forgotten about her. Virgo replies, telling Lucy that all of her memories are gone, and attacks Lucy with her whip. Lucy brings out Fleuve d'étoiles and fights Virgo. Lucy gains the upper hand and is about to defeat Virgo but she is stopped by the memories of the Spirit's former self, giving Virgo a chance to strike Lucy. Natsu tries to help out of worry and anger, but Lucy tells him to stop. However, as Natsu is seeing Lucy getting beaten up, he then goes on to attack Eclipse Virgo and saves Lucy, screaming “I’m not gonna watch this anymore!” Natsu vows Eclipse Virgo will pay, holding Lucy in his arms and asking if she is alright.
Natsu then quickly saves Lucy when Eclipse Leo attempts to attack her with Dark Regulus. Lucy then expresses worry for Natsu when Eclipse Virgo attacks him. Natsu then protects Lucy from Eclipse Sagittarius and prepares to attack the Eclipse Celestial Spirits (with Lucy asking him not to hurt them, and Natsu assuring her he will just make them remember who they are).
While the Fairy Tail guild and Yukino learning about Liberum, Natsu remains steadfast with his plan to defeat Loke and snap him back to normal, with Lucy smiling that he does care and thanks him. Lucy then expresses fear and shock as Natsu has disappeared with Horologium and Crux into the Celestial Spirit World to confront the Eclipse Zodiacs. While Crux expresses his disapproval of Natsu’s plan and disobeying “the redhead [Erza]”, Natsu replies that he won’t let anyone get away with hurting Lucy’s feelings, saying that if Crux knew Natsu, the Southern Cross should know that fact. Natsu then confronts Eclipse Taurus and berates him for forgetting Lucy, saying that she turned to him every time she needed help and vows to make the Golden Bull remember when the latter states he does not recall his times with Lucy. Natsu even expresses disgust and rage for Eclipse Taurus seeing his relations with Celestial Wizards as nothing to him and moving on from them, telling him to “Think about how horrible Lucy would feel if she heard that!”
When Hisui gives out the Celestial Spirit Banishment Keys, Natsu chooses to take Loke’s. Lucy still insists on dealing with the Lion herself, but Natsu replies that while she means well, Loke won’t listen, and promising that he won’t hurt Loke when she asks him to not be too harsh on him, still viewing him as a friend. After Eclipse Leo attacks, before the battle begins, Natsu reminds the corrupted spirit that he won’t let him or the rest of the Zodiac forget about Lucy, saying he can’t “stand to see her go through that kind of pain”. Even though Natsu’s magic is siphoned by Leo, who prepares the Liberum ritual, Natsu refuses to give up. Leo questions why he does so, and Natsu states that Lucy would cry if the Eclipse Spirits die in the ritual. Natsu then takes back his magic by absorbing the Dark Regulus, and says that Loke is still a friend, and Lucy needs him. Natsu then enters Black Fire Dragon Mode and defeats the Lion with his and the latter’s magic put together.
Later on, when Eclipse Ophiuchus unleashed her power and summons the crystal dimensions of the Eclipse spirits, Natsu expresses anger at Lucy being bound by Eclipse Virgo, and prepares to attack the corrupted Snake Charmer, only to be knocked back, with Arcadios assisting Natsu. Then, with Happy’s advice, Natsu attacks the glowing part of Ophiuchus’ stomach, causing the crystal dimensions to merge together. Natsu then releases all of the Dark Magic stored in his body, much to everyone’s amazement and Ophiuchus’ shock and anger. He then calls out to Lucy and Yukino, saying “grand support is on the way”. This allows the Celestial Wizards to defeat Eclipse Virgo and Eclipse Libra with Urano Metria. Natsu feels relieved that Lucy is alright, and when Lucy wakes up, Happy and Hisui explain what happened and that she can thank Natsu. Natsu and Happy confronts Ophiuchus as she prepares the Liberum Veras, stating that Lucy and Yukino placed their hearts into the bonds with the Celestial Spirits and vows to prevent the Snake Charmer from breaking those bonds. Natsu also assures Lucy that he and Happy can deal with Ophiuchus while she, Yukino and Hisui deal with the Celestial Globe. After Ophiuchus’ defeat though, Lucy expresses worry that the Zodiacs may not have returned to normal yet, but Natsu tells Lucy to keep her chin up and that things will be alright. When Natsu asks if Lucy is ready to go to the Celestial Spirit World, Lucy smiles and says yes. Natsu then assures a disheartened Lucy that they will save the Zodiacs after the Celestial Spirit Beast consumes them.
During the final battle of the Celestial Spirit Beast, Natsu grabs Lucy before she is pulled into one of the beast’s black holes, saying that Lucy “doesn’t listen too good”, with Happy telling her that they can handle it. Lucy replies that she refuses to do nothing while everyone else is trapped. Natsu says “I can’t argue with that. Just don’t do anything crazy!” Lucy says she understands, much to Natsu’s relief. Later on, while Natsu and Happy are inside of the Beast, Natsu catches a glimpse of the true Celestial Spirit King. While Natsu tries to destroy the chains surrounding the King, he tells him that he owes a sincere apology to Lucy for making her cry and that if he ever made her cry again, he would not hesitate to defeat him. When Natsu and Happy are blasted out of the Celestial Beast, Lucy calls out to Natsu telling him to "hang in there" while Natsu responds back with a faint "Lucy." Natsu is later seen resting in Lucy’s lap after the Celestial Spirit King is pulled him with him by Erza. Lucy thanks Natsu, with Natsu saying “right back at ya”, and Lucy saying she “does what [she] can” and teasingly points out his recklessness.

Sun Village Arc[]
While in the guild's new bathhouse, Lucy talks with the other members about their jobs. After mentioning that Natsu and Gray left on a job together, Cana questions Lucy about Natsu groping her breasts (much to Max and Warren’s delight from the other side, and Romeo’s sheer embarrassment), which she heard from Happy.[2] An embarrassed (and angry at Happy) Lucy tries to explain Natsu only covered her because she was naked, only for a smug Cana to feel Lucy up in the same way. Later on, Lucy follows Erza, Wendy and Carla to find Natsu, Gray and a shell-shocked Happy, (Lucy worriedly asks where Natsu and Gray are) who reveals Natsu and Gray have been fighting each other for the past three days after defeating their monster. Lucy then expresses horror when the rivals accidentally punch Erza in a blind rage, causing the scarlet-haired mage to attack the frightened boys in severe retribution.
Then, after arriving at the Sun Village, Natsu expresses motion sickness from Warrod Sequen’s tree magic that was used to bring the team there (despite enjoying it at first), as Lucy looks on in dismay. When the group notice the frozen giants of the village, a shocked Natsu and Happy scream “Huge” (Giant in the English dub) at the giants (and also at Lucy’s chest, although she does not notice, as well as making a small joke at Wendy, who thinks she has been insulted).
After a trio of Sylph Labyrinth hunters, Rala, Hiroshi and Drake show up and announce their plans to snatch the Eternal Flame of the Sun Village, they take out a vial of Liquid Moon Drip to try and thaw out the ice encasing the flame. Natsu then tells the team to catch the escaping hunters, declaring that if they have the vial, they can return the village to normal and be done with the job, much to everyone’s immense amazement at Natsu’s idea.
Natsu, Lucy, Wendy and Gray prepare to fight two of the hunters after one of them runs off in the chase. Lucy expresses shock and worry when Natsu is thrown into the ice by Hammer Rala. After Gray takes the Moon Drip, he passes it to Natsu, who then gladly throws it to Lucy. Both of them, Wendy, Carla, Happy and the hunters express horror when the bottle breaks. However, Natsu is able to hear a voice from the area where the Moon Drip melted the ice. Natsu then chases after it alone and is followed by his friends.
Eventually, after Gray defeats Doriate, Natsu reunited with Lucy, Wendy and Flare (who is revealed to be a resident of the village) at the Eternal Flame. Lucy scolds Natsu for running off and assures him that Flare isn’t an enemy anymore. Gray and the Exceeds then run towards them with Doriate’s Cyclops Monster bird, before Natsu prepares to deal with the bird while Gray moves to melt the ice.
Lucy expresses worry when Natsu struggles against the Cyclops Monster, but he tells her not to worry and that he will defeat the monster while she and the others restore the Eternal Flame. Gray then melts the ice and says he Natsu can restore the magic power source of the Eternal Flame when Wendy is able to sense the residual energy and the flame becomes visible at the altar.
Lucy calls out to Natsu upon hearing this, and Natsu says he can handle it, preparing to defeat the monster as quickly as possible. The Fire Dragon Slayer proceeds to simultaneously defeat the bird and reignite the flame with Fire Dragon’s Brilliant Flame (although Lucy claims Natsu is overdoing things - in the English dub, she calls it overkill) and Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus Exploding Flame Blade.
After Atlas Flame restores the Sun Village and saves the giants, there is a moment of fear when the group believe the Dark Guild Tartarus is behind the Sun Village’s freezing. However, Natsu gleefully dismisses the fears and tells everyone they should party with the request done, with Lucy smiling at Natsu’s optimism. Everyone then expresses happiness at Flare being accepted back into the Sun Village. When the group leaves the village, Natsu questions if Lucy is fine when she looks at Flare (who thanks her) from the distance, and the latter is annoyed when Happy thinks she has gone insane.
The group returns to Warrod, who congratulates them for their efforts. At night, they celebrate in the hot springs. However, Lucy and Wendy become extremely embarrassed when Natsu, Gray, Happy and Warrod join them. Lucy immediately throws a bucket at the boys, only for Natsu to casually move his head to the side and dodge it. Warrod explains the bath is mixed, but Lucy protests in embarrassment, telling the boys to get out. Unfortunately for Lucy, Natsu casually tells the Celestial Spirit Mage he has seen her naked enough to be sick of it, with Gray chiming in that it does get stale after a while. A furious Lucy screams that was low and asks if they want a death wish.
Warrod explains his connection to the Fairy Tail guild (which surprises the youths) and reveals his knowledge about Tartaros and E.N.D (when Natsu asks Warrod about him). The Wizard Saint reveals nobody knows where the demon worshippers are. This prompts an angered Natsu to thrash around in frustration about the situation, vowing to beat the information out of any demon he finds. However, little does he know, he accidentally beats up Erza (he was washing her back while Warrod told the story) in his blind rage, much to Lucy and the others’ (even Warrod becomes scared) shock and horror, with Erza brutally retaliating, much to Natsu’s immense fear.
Tartaros Arc[]
After returning to the guild, Lucy, Natsu and several other learn of E.N.D. Natsu resolves to "beat up" E.N.D, Gajeel immediately agreeing. But Lucy is quick to oppose the idea, pointing out the guild's lack of knowledge of E.N.D. However, Natsu and the other Dragon Slayers protest, each wanting to get as much information on their dragon as soon as possible. Before their conversation can go any further, Jet rushes into the guild, bringing bad news about the Magic Council headquarters’ destruction.
Then after the guild members are assigned to protect council members, Lucy, Natsu and Wendy, with Happy and Carla, set out to protect the former council member Michello, who begins to speak of a weapon called “Face” before Natsu senses danger and quickly pushes Lucy and Wendy to the ground, and then Michello and Michelia, before eating Jackal’s explosive bomb.
Natsu then beats up Jackal with full force and overwhelms him before Lucy reminds him that they need Jackal to talk, causing Natsu to stop. Then, when Jackal regains conscious and tries to turn Natsu into a living bomb, Natsu tells a worried Lucy to run for it, and screams in horror when the bomb goes off and Natsu falls unconscious, much to Lucy’s anger. After Jackal overwhelms Lucy and Wendy and chase after Michello, Lucy tells Wendy to take care of Natsu while she chases Jackal.
Jackal then places Lucy under his landmine curse, forcing her to spare either Michello or an innocent pregnant woman, or else be killed, much to her horror. Fortunately, Natsu recovers just in time to punch out Jackal and free Lucy from the magic circle, much to her relief.[3] Lucy then laughs sheepishly when Natsu knocks out Michello for annoying him and the former councillor’s ingratitude. Lucy then expresses worry when Jackal implants another explosive curse on Natsu, but is then joyful when Natsu is able to counter the curse by eating it.
Later on, Natsu suddenly rushes off with Happy to the house of the former Magic Council chairman, whom he deduced is a traitor in league with Tartaros for telling them about Face, despite Lucy telling him to calm down and wait due to his injuries.
In the anime only, Lucy, Wendy and Carla arrive at the ruins of the chairman’s house to look for Natsu, Happy, the chairman, Erza and Mira. Lucy silently pleads for Natsu to be safe. Later, after Happy returns and reveals knowledge of Tartaros’ location, Lucy consoles the guilt-ridden Exceed when he believes he left Natsu behind, saying that Happy made it back to Fairy Tail to save the captives. Lucy is then seen confident and determined to rescue Natsu after Levy tracks the location of Cube, Tartaros’ floating base (in the English dub, she smiles and says to Happy, “We’ll have Natsu back in no time.”).
While Lucy, Happy, Wendy and Carla were being attacked by Franmalth, Natsu rushes in and saves them, with Lucy relieved and saying that Natsu always comes in the nick of time. Then, as Natsu, Lucy and Happy were getting their souls drained, all three were determined not to have their souls drained, after Natsu boldly declares to Franmalth that he refuses to give up his soul and tells Lucy and Happy to think of the most important things in their lives so they can hold on.
Lucy then calls back Aries and Taurus, which forces Franmalth to release them from his body to prevent him from going into the Celestial Spirit World. Lucy then tricks Franmalth that Natsu is a Celestial Spirit, causing Franmalth to release Natsu, who praised Lucy’s fakeout technique before attacking Franmalth again, defeating him by throwing giant rocks at him. With Natsu, Lucy and Happy victorious, they watch all the souls being released from Franmalth and look on stunned when Master Hades’ soul tells them that Makarov must “unleash the light”.
Lucy and Natsu are then relieved that Mira is alright, thanks to Warren’s telepathy. However, they soon get separated due to Alegria, Mard Geer’s curse. They strain to try and reach for each other's hands as they are falling but fail. Before Natsu is fully consumed by the Alegria, he screams Lucy’s name in fear (the anime only), still trying to reach out for her. Lucy then calls out for Natsu before Cube (transformed into Plutogrim) attempts to destroy Magnolia.
Although she is initially overwhelmed, Lucy refuses to give up, even when Jackal tells her Natsu and Happy are dead, before (in the anime only, she thinks of her friends, with Natsu as the final thought and calling her name, smiling), she summons Aquarius as her third Celestial Spirit, despite Loke and Virgo’s protests. Eventually, left with no other choice, Aquarius begs Lucy to break her key to summon the Celestial Spirit King to win. Despite Lucy’s tearful protests, Aquarius keeps telling her this is the only way to win, even saying (in the anime only) that Natsu isn’t coming to save her and that everything is all on her.
The Celestial King reverses the effects of the Alegria Curse and turns everyone back to normal. With Lucy drained of magic and injured, Torafuzar, Keyes, Silver and Tempester move in to kill her, but is interrupted by Gajeel, Juvia, Gray, and finally Natsu, respectively. Smiling, Natsu elatedly states that he doesn't know what Lucy did, but that she saved them and Lucy reacts with a relieved, slight embarrassed smile. Natsu then confidently declares he is fired up now for the fight against the demons.
As the three-way fight between Natsu, Gajeel, and Juvia against Tempester, Keyes and Torafuzar continues, Lucy tries to stand back up on her feet, saying that she can still fight and asks for them to let her help. Natsu tells her to rest and enjoy the show, saying that they've got this, with Gajeel agreeing as well. Lucy once again smiles at him. The fight continues as the mages struggle against their respective demon. Lucy is seen concerned that Natsu, Gajeel, and Juvia are having a hard time, pleading for them to hang in there and says she needs a bit more time to recover.
Keyes then gets the upper hand on Juvia and summons an army of skeletons, one of which bears down on Lucy as she tries to get up again. Natsu worriedly calls her name and turns to help but is stopped by Tempester annoyed that he can't get to her. Natsu is soon relieved to see Juvia defeat Keyes and that the skeletons have disappeared. Natsu then asks if a poisoned Juvia is alright, with Lucy saying yes, before she reminds Natsu and Gajeel to be careful, with the Dragon Slayers replying briskly that they know.
Lucy then looks on in confusion when Natsu and Gajeel argue about whose Dual-Element Dragon Force is stronger before the two of them ferociously beat down the transformed Tempester and Torafuzar respectively. Lucy then looks on in shock when the Dragon Slayers punch out each other and is then embarrassed when they argue again.
In the anime only, when Gajeel, during the fight against Torafuzar, recollects his memories of first joining Fairy Tail, while sitting alone, he notices Natsu and Lucy talking about a job request and smiles to himself when Natsu and Hapoy get into a friendly competition about grilling fish (to Lucy’s chagrin). Then, in another anime-only flashback, Laxus recalls how Natsu encourages the then-bedridden Lighting Dragon Slayer (despite Lucy’s protests not to wake them up) and tells him to then relax, with Lucy watching Natsu.
Soon afterwards, Natsu then shakes with fear (with Lucy first asking if Natsu is alright) when Acnologia unexpectedly descends upon the battlefield, alarming everyone (even Mard Geer). Natsu then writhes in pain in response to Acnologia with Gajeel, Wendy, Sting and Rogue. Lucy worryingly asks if Natsu will be alright as he clutches his hand to his heart, with Lucy trying to place her hand on Natsu’s shoulder, only to recoil from Natsu burning up. Lucy and the others then look on in shock as Igneel emerges from Natsu, with the long-lost Fire Dragon King revealing to be with his foster son up until now. Lucy then looks on in sympathy when Natsu tears up from seeing Igneel after so long. Lucy then (after apologising in the anime when Gajeel asks how Igneel was residing in Natsu’s body) watches an angry Natsu rush upwards to question Igneel why he disappeared (in the anime, when Igneel catches Natsu from falling, she nervously replies “That was close!”).
In the anime only, Lucy says she doesn’t know where Natsu is, but knows and feels that the Fire Dragon Slayer is alright, smiling. Gajeel then replies “I actually believe that, coming from you.”
Then, in the anime, while fighting Mard Geer, Sting asks if Natsu is alright, with Natsu saying he’s been hurt worse by a “freaking Lucy Kick”, before quickly saying “Don’t tell her though.”
Later on, one week after the fall of Tartaros, arriving to her apartment, Lucy suspects that someone is in her and assumes it is Natsu and Happy. But when she opens the door, all she finds is a letter from Natsu. Lucy noticed how Natsu’s writing is terrible (in the anime, she even states it’s worse than Erza’s), only to be shocked when the letter states he and Happy will be leaving to go train for a year. Natsu asks Lucy to let everyone know he says hello and goodbye, thanking her and saying goodbye to Lucy herself.
Lucy then runs out of her apartment, crying and claiming that if he leaves her, she will miss him and be all alone again, calling him an idiot. (In the English dub, Lucy tearfully screams, while running, “How can you just up and leave me alone for an entire freaking year?! How dumb are you, Natsu?! Can’t you see? Did you even think… of what this would do to me?!”)
As he sets out with Happy for the training journey, Natsu voiced his apology for everyone in the guild, saying that he has to get a lot stronger before he can return, vowing to protect them no matter what. In the anime only, when Natsu and Happy reach Crocus as they start, Natsu reminisces on Future Lucy’s death when Happy brings up the Eclipse, with Natsu steeling himself and declares humans always bounce back from disaster.
Avatar Arc[]
After the events on the fight with Tartarus Fairy Tail is disbanded, and everyone in the guild separates on their own ways. One year later, Lucy becomes a reporter and editor in training, covering the ongoing Grand Magic Games of the year X792.
However, despite enjoying life in Crocus, Lucy still feels devastated from the events of the past year, admitting she became depressed for a while when Natsu and Happy took off for their training and the guild was disbanded the day after. (In the anime, Lucy sees images of Natsu in both her new place and in the Domus Flau stadium, becoming disappointed when she sees they are only illusions).
Lucy even expresses sorrow about how she lacks the courage to meet up with everyone in the guild. Moreover, she reveals she became a reporter so that she could gather information on all the guild members. Unfortunately for her, Lucy was still unable to find any leads on Natsu and Happy (she even says the only thing she could think of was finding them so they could be a family again), and then despairing how Fairy Tail is gone, curling up and breaking down in tears at the situation.
The next day, she watches the final battle between the two guilds with Jason, which Scarmiglione ultimately win. The victory ceremony is interrupted, however, by a person who entered the arena. Lucy is startled upon seeing the hooded person, and orders everyone to leave, after noticing the user's magic power.[4]

However, before they can do anything, the person releases flames that encompass the entirety of the stadium. Lucy then watches as the hooded person defeats the winning guild with ease, with the flames reaching her, burning her clothes.[5]Several moments, the person, who is releasing fire, is revealed to be Natsu Dragneel, much to Lucy’s immense surprise. Happy then shows up and reveals Natsu wanted to challenge the winners of the X792 Grand Magic Games.
After the flames vanish, Natsu finally sees Lucy. Making eye contact at each other, the two greeted each other after a year of separation.[6] Natsu happily greets Lucy, asking how she has been. A tearfully happy Lucy then replies she’s been fine and asked how Natsu has been. Lucy also thinks to herself that there is still hope for Fairy Tail being alive, with a voice inside her head.

After Natsu's imprisonment, Lucy awaits him outside the castle, and is asked of where the other Fairy Tail Members where - in the anime, Natsu says there is something wrong first, realising Lucy is feeling upset. Sitting at a nearby plaza, she explained the status of Fairy Tail that made Natsu and Happy pretty depressed and shell-shocked.[7] On his mood, Natsu wonders what Makarov has been doing, angered at Makarov's decision and freaks out how nobody stopped him. However, just then, an upset Lucy berates Natsu for just leaving the guild without discussing it with anyone first (in the anime, Natsu says it wasn't like that). However, Lucy apologizes when Natsu is left speechless, claiming that they must of had a lot on their minds as well.[8]

Natsu stares at Lucy, realising how the guild’s disbandment has truly affected her.
Lucy then smiles and invites the two on her new house, both being surprised to see such spacious place unlike the previous home, and decided to let them stay, knowing the both do not have a place. As the duo (profusely thanking Lucy for letting them stay) help themselves at home (she expresses frustration at the mess they make, and in the anime, Natsu even looks in Lucy's dresser, teasingly noticing how "her panty collection has grown quite a bit", with an embarrassed Lucy screaming for him to "Get the heck out of my dresser!") , Natsu begins to tell her about his adventures, smiling and blushing at the familiar feeling. In the middle of the night, Natsu and Happy get up. Bored, they decide to enter Lucy's room and paint on her face, but before he begins, he then comes face to face with the map Lucy has been creating to keep track of the Fairy Tail members. Natsu then realized Lucy has been keeping track of the fellow guild members, and momentarily stares at her, understanding just how much Lucy truly felt about the guild's disbandment.[9]

The next day, Lucy awakens and was shocked upon seeing and hearing the army at her house. Before she can question this, Natsu and Happy appear, wondering if they have been caught already. Confused, Lucy looks at the two and asks what they have done, but Natsu simply grabs her hand and jumps out of the window (carrying her princess-style), explaining that he has raised the beacon for Fairy Tail's revival. After releasing her, he tells her that they will revive Fairy Tail, leading Lucy to tears as she follows behind, with the army running after them.[10]
"Fire Dragon's Roar"
In the anime only, while on their journey, Lucy remarks that even after a whole year, Natsu makes it seem like no time has passed at all. They are then confronted by a huge boar, which Natsu quickly roasts after Happy motivates him. Lucy is then shocked how Natsu is prepared to eat it. Late at night, while eating the boar, Natsu noticed Lucy is feeling down and asks her if she is alright, with Lucy noting how Fairy Tail won their difficult battle with Tartaros, and pulled it off as always. Lucy admits she is glad to find Natsu and Happy, hoping to bring back the guild, before smiling warmly and blushing at Natsu’s attempt to cook Happy’s fish.
Natsu, Lucy and Happy arrives at Tuly Village, outside the Fiore borders. Natsu notices the fixed clock tower he destroyed in the past, and decides to break it again, but was stopped by Lucy, who whacks him with a newspaper. Upset, Natsu let out a tantrum that he wants to cut loose, for he purposed his training for defeating Gray, Erza and Laxus. He then looks at Lucy, wanting to engage a fight since she is the only choice left. Thought to say no, Lucy mischievously reveals she actually trained by herself secretly, which piqued Natsu’s attention, with the Celestial Mage even admitting she would like to spar with Natsu although she knows she cannot win against him in a serious fight.
However, before they could engage themselves to a fight, Natsu sensed something. Between Lucy's legs, Natsu fired out Fire Dragon's Roar, and shot a bunch of thieves a few meters away from them. But this is unbeknownst to an embarrassed Lucy, who thought Natsu is kidding around, especially when he declines to fight Lucy, saying it does not “light [his] fire” despite Lucy proclaiming she has gotten stronger indeed. [11]

Inside a room on KoToKo Inn, the three discussed the whereabouts of their fellow guild members. Lucy decided they should go at the Margaret City, claiming the Lamia Scale's Guild is in there. Natsu gladly agreed, in thoughts of fighting Lyon and Jura. Lucy ended up the conversation, asking Natsu to guess who else is in the said guild. Arrived at the city, the three watches the Lamia Scale's Thanksgiving Day celebration. Calling the last performancers, Chelia and Wendy, went out the stage and sings, as well as dances. Natsu and Happy are left a state of shock, not believing Wendy is into the stuff. Lucy explains what happened on Wendy.
A terrified Natsu then declares he has to bring Wendy back on the “right path”, even though Lucy asks Natsu how Wendy has gone astray. Happy then notices Carla is nowhere. The supposed nowhere person greets them behind, only to notice Carla in her Transformation Form, much to their surprise.[12]

Natsu, Lucy and Happy visit Wendy in the Lamia Scale Guild. Lucy updates Wendy that they're bringing back the guild, and exchanges information regarding Makarov's disappearance and the Newly Formed Magic Council. Natsu insisted to don't mind the old man's whereabouts, as he came to the guild for Wendy, though, she shortly made up her mind, refusing to go with them and just stay. Before she could explain why, Carla enters the scene and tells the three to stop forcing Wendy. Carla asks if that is the decision of her, and Wendy quickly nodded, that made the three disbelief.[13]
The three are dumbfounded by Wendy’s decision.
Resting in the Viper Inn, the three are left dumbfounded. Using Happy's tail, Natsu tickles Lucy's feet, cutting the silent atmosphere. Lucy laughs hysterically about it before she angrily spanks the two, blushing. A dismayed Lucy fears everyone could feel the same. However, an undeterred Natsu lets out his hope, saying he plans to kidnap Wendy, but Lucy fiercely disagrees.[14]

Natsu and Lucy enter upon the commotion, seeing Lyon beats up a huge monster. Lyon then explains their rival guild, Orochi Fin, has been battling Lamia Scale for a year. More Lamia Scale Members come, and tell them there are 100,000 monsters from the west are moving to the town. Natsu and Happy agreed to help the Lamia Scale by means of air battling with Wendy and Carla, but before Natsu could fly up, Chelia kicks him while holding Happy in air, gaining Natsu's supposed position.[15]
Enraged by Chelia’s action, Natsu chases after the Sky Sisters in hot pursuit, despite Lucy’s protest and shock at Natsu’s reaction to the situation, becoming even more surprised at how Natsu easily cut his way through the herd of many monsters.
After finding Wendy at Lamia Scale, Wendy, Natsu, Lucy, and Happy travel to find Juvia at the Rainfall Village. When Juvia tells them how Grey left and never returned half a year ago, Natsu calls Gray a jerk for leaving just like that. Lucy then sarcastically calls out Natsu for leaving without speaking to her first as well. Natsu replies he wrote a letter to Lucy before he taking off, only for an annoyed Lucy to ask Natsu how that affected her and then nervously breaking off when she says it made her feel upset. Natsu seems nervous at what Lucy is about to say. Fortunately, before tensions flare up, Juvia interrupts the argument and sarcastically asks Lucy “Do you have to flirt with him in front of us?”, with Lucy vehemently denying she is flirting.
Later, after Natsu promises Juvia he will bring Gray back for her, he sets out with Lucy and Happy to Sabertooth. On the way, Lucy asks Natsu how they will find any information on Gray at Sabertooth. Natsu replies that he cannot say, which confuses Lucy. Natsu then immediately turns around in the saddle and tells a surprised Lucy (who continually protests that Natsu needs to look ahead where they are going and not let go of the reins) that while he trusts Gray, they have to stop trusting the Ice-Make wizard to learn about where he is. Natsu then assures a confused Lucy that he will bring Gray back no matter what, before she, after nervously looking away, tilts Natsu’s head so that they don’t crash.
When they arrive at the Sabertooth guild hall, Natsu and Lucy greet the guild members. Natsu happily greets Sting (who has grown weight), whom Lucy doesn’t recognise immediately until Natsu says his name. Lucy remains perplexed about how Natsu is quick to rush off to see Rogue and tell the Shadow Dragon Slayer and Frosch not to leave the town until he gets back.
Natsu then grabs Lucy and Happy, and rushes off to track down the Avatar Cult (as part of a job request Rogue took up, with Natsu taking it and promising Rogue he can keep the money). Natsu then recalls Future Rogue’s final words - to warn the present Rogue to protect Frosch from Gray. Lucy reveals what Avatar is and after she asks Natsu why Gray would join them. When Natsu reveals what Future Rogue had said, Lucy becomes shocked, and believing Gray could not be an enemy. Natsu surmises Gray may have become corrupted due to his Demon Slayer magic in the fight against Mard Geer.
A worried Lucy then internally questions why Natsu would keep it a secret all this time, and believes that is why he left since he knew the outcome. However, before Lucy can shed tears, Natsu places his hand on her head, confidently reassuring Lucy that things will be okay and that Gray will always be a friend. Lucy then smiles, blushing, and agrees with Natsu.
Upon reaching the Avatar headquarters, Natsu and Happy prepare to storm the place, but Lucy immediately stops them, saying they cannot just rush in and need a plan. Natsu then expresses surprise when Lucy transformed into her Virgo Star Dress (this is the first time he recognises it). With Virgo’s help, they get in (Natsu also tells Lucy to move it since they are cramped). Lucy then rapidly scolds Natsu in fear when the Fire Dragon Slayer screams for Gray to show himself (Lucy even squishes Natsu’s face with her hands from fear as he looks on dumbfounded), before expressing surprise at how Natsu was easily able to defeat Abel with one hit despite the cultist having a Mr. Cursey doll.
After Gouman appears to attack, Lucy is worried when Natsu is locked in an Iron Maiden trap, only to be elated when he melts the iron and escapes the brutal prison. Lucy expresses faith in Natsu’s abilities after beating all three of the Avatar cultists that appeared before him.
Lucy then pleads Natsu and Gray to stop fighting, but to no avail, and even expresses worry when Gray attempts to overwhelm Natsu. Natsu looks on in shock as Lucy slaps Gray out of frustration, and then expresses worry when Lucy keels over from Mary’s Virus spell. Natsu attempts to confront Mary in retaliation, only to be restrained with Virgo by Goumon.
Imprisoned with Natsu and Happy, Lucy agrees with Natsu (who is fuming about Gray’s behaviour) that something is indeed possessing Gray. Later on, Natsu furiously tells Gouman to let Lucy go when she is set up for torture, much to his anger. When Gouman asks what method Lucy would prefer, a deadpan Natsu recommends that she should go with the foot-licking torture, believing it won’t be that bad, while a terrified Lucy disagrees, saying it sounds so wrong. Natsu becomes speechless in fear when Gouman explains the truth about the method, and screams in terror when Gouman prepares the torture.
When a furious Gouman then attempts to chop Lucy in half with an axe, a horrified Natsu tries to break free from his restraints to save her, only for Gouman to be frozen in ice before his axe could touch Lucy.
After Gray contacts Erza, Natsu, Lucy and Happy learn the truth of Avatar’s intentions. Natsu then boldly declares that they will put a stop to the cult and stop their “Operation Purify”, with Lucy happily agreeing with the same level of confidence. Both of them (along with Gray, Erza and Happy) declare to be “all fired up” when Natsu exclaims the team will be fighting together again after a year.
Lucy then expresses amazement at how Natsu is able to defeat the Battle God Ikusatsunagi with one hit after scaling his body. The two also join the group celebration of Avatar’s defeat later on after Gajeel, Levy and Lily arrived to arrest the cultists.
In the anime only, while fearing the bad future would happen when Gray encounters the wandering Frosch, Natsu has flashbacks of Future Lucy’s death. Fortunately, Natsu, as well as Lucy, smiles at Rogue meeting up with Frosch and noticing Rogue’s shadow disappearing, as well as remembering Future Rogue and Future Lucy.
The two then look at each other and smile, happily knowing that the dark future would never come to pass.
The group then splits up and Natsu, Lucy, Wendy, Happy and Carla all arrive at Magnolia. Natsu is overjoyed to be back in the town, but noticed that Lucy looks upset (from the events of the last year) as they are walking.
Natsu then assures a despondent Lucy (who is scared to go any closer to the site of the guild hall) that they can reconstruct the guild building. Lucy then admits to Natsu that she got excited when he said they would revive the guild, but is now having doubts if the rest of the members want to return, with Natsu looking on in concern. Fortunately, Cana shows up and reveals that Lucy’s attempts to reach out to everyone brought them back together, with Natsu smiling in approval. (In the anime only, Lucy tearfully smiles when Natsu finds the Fairy Tail guild flag and raises it to the sky to declare the official reunion.)
Alvarez Empire Arc[]
Five days after the guild’s reunion, Lucy discovers Natsu in her apartment after taking her bath. She angrily flies at him with a Lucy Kick, but Natsu catches her foot, teasingly telling her she needs more training to get a hit in him, before happily saying there is work to be done. Lucy is joyful hearing this, but causes her towel fall leaving Natsu blushing and holding an upside-down, naked Lucy, who then screams in sheer embarrassment.
Lucy then laments how rebuilding the guild from scratch is the job as she carries wooden beams, only for a cheerful Natsu to tell her not to complain, carrying more than her.
When Mest takes the new guild master Erza into the underground chamber containing the Lumen Histoire, Lucy, Wendy, Gray, and Natsu are found to be following them. Everyone is shocked that the First Master is trapped in a lacrima but Natsu is even more surprised to find that master Mavis is naked. Lucy, with an annoyed face, covers Natsu's eyes and tells him not to look (in the anime, Natsu still sees the crystal with wide eyes despite Lucy moving her hands to cover them).
While Fairy Tail is sailing for Caracol Island, Lucy expresses amazement at how Natsu (and Wendy) are able to sense the Alvarez soldiers’ actions on the island to root out Mest’s spy. Natsu is then amazed at how Lucy (and Erza) are able to charm the guards to get through.
Later, after protecting a child from the soldiers, Marin shows up. Erza tries to attack him with Requip, but it is ineffective. Lucy also attacks the mage, and it is also ineffective. Marin states that since he uses Rules of the Area, a special form of Spatial Magic, and since Erza and Lucy’s magic both revolve around space, he has control over them now. Both Erza and Lucy are sent to another "Relaxation" dimension. Natsu is furious at this and unsuccessfully tries to save them. Natsu is worried but is then relieved when Lucy and Erza return, running up to them after Marin brings them back by Brandish’s orders. An angry Natsu then prepares to challenge Brandish for Mest being hurt by Marin. Lucy protests against Natsu’s stance, but is then shocked, along with Natsu, when Brandish dismisses her minion.
After the encounter with Brandish, Team Natsu boards the ship they were on to save the people on the island. While she is talking to Erza, Lucy rubs Natsu's back to try and help him with his motion sickness, before Lucy lands on top of Natsu after Mest transports the team to inside the mobile Temple Olympia, piloted by Sorano, who is revealed to be Mest’s spy (and formerly known as Angel of the Oracion Seis).
Later, after Mest saved Makarov from Zeref, the Fairy Tail mages escape from the pursing Desert King Ajeel. Lucy and Gray move to fend off Ajeel, with Lucy apologising for using a motion sickness Natsu as leverage to get on top of the Magic Mobile. Then, when Makarov transforms to protect the mages from Ajeel’s attacks, Natsu roars that they can fight to, with an embarrassed Lucy (with Natsu slammed into Lucy’s cleavage) nervously asks for Natsu to stop yelling.
After Laxus intervenes and arrives with Fairy Tail’s Team B and Blue Pegasus, the Fairy Tail mages return to the guild hall, where Makarov formally apologises for disbanding the guild, and voices how the Alvarez Empire is a dangerous superpower, with Fairy Tail standing no chance against them. However, Natsu stands up and voices his resolve to fight, declaring that this time, everyone is fighting to live, with everyone in the guild accepting. Lucy smiles among the many who are prepared to stand tall as well.
As Lucy writes about Mavis and Fairy Heart, Natsu and Happy suddenly appear behind her, commenting on her talent as an "aspiring writer" in a teasing way. As always, Lucy is not amused to see them in her room without any permission, even kicking a chair at them in frustration. However, the two state that they should go hang out, with the streets being empty as the evacuation has finished. Lucy doesn't like the idea and also states that she isn't excited for the battle at all and Natsu agrees with the notion, claiming that even though he likes contests of strength, fights to death is not something he enjoys either. He continues, noting that this is the battle they have to win or there will be no future left for them, wanting to do some things once everything is over. Lucy stops him there, pointing out that something like this can be considered a "death flag" in real life, however, Natsu states that Igneel told him to talk about the future as it's something that will make him want to live, something that makes Lucy smile. Afterwards, they decide to play games, with a suggestion of strip poker being thrown in as well to Lucy's dismay. Later, while still in the midst of the game, Natsu and the others notice some noise coming from the outside, signalizing the arrival of Alvarez Empire's forces.
Lucy later expresses worry for Natsu when she heard he went to face off against Zeref. In the anime only, Lucy then sits by herself, hoping that Natsu is okay, internally voicing that running off to fight Zeref alone was crazy even for him, but still believes in him.
Later on, after dealing with Brandish and reuniting with Aquarius, the latter tries to tell her something but before she can finish her sentence, Happy comes in with an unconscious Natsu, pleading for someone to help him with Lucy having a concerned look on her face. After trying to wake him up, Lucy places her ear on his chest and is horrified when she can't hear his heartbeat. Seeing how Lucy is pleading for Natsu to answer her, Brandish offers to heal Natsu by shrinking the anti-ethernano tumour until it becomes non-existent, making Lucy beg her to save Natsu while tears streamed down her face.
As Natsu rests, Lucy thanks Brandish for saving him, and then promises to find Aquarius's celestial key and bids her farewell. Recalling Natsu' words of speaking of the future, Lucy came to fully understand their meaning and decided on what she wanted to do in the future.
In the anime only, while in the infirmary, Lucy has an ominous feeling. Happy asks her if it is about Natsu, with Lucy replying she doesn’t exactly know and got extremely worried all of a sudden. Happy reassures Lucy that Natsu is going to be fine, with Lucy silently agreeing.
As Lucy and Happy are busy taking care of Natsu (whom Lucy believes will wake up soon) the whole guild hall falls under attack by one of the Spriggan 12: Jacob Lessio, who casts a spell that caused everyone in the guild to disappear, except for Mavis. But thanks to Horologium; Natsu, Lucy and Happy were saved from Jacob's spell but all became naked in the process, much to Lucy's embarrassment, even more so when they are cramped together. (Horologium even tells Lucy to stop making “weird noises”. In the anime, when Lucy says to the unconscious Natsu, “that tickles”, the clock spirit pleads for the Celestial Mage to remember she is a proper lady.) Lucy then becomes even more embarrassed and covers her eyes while blushing when Happy teasingly makes Lucy look at Natsu completely naked, saying “Fire Dragon…” before Lucy tells the Exceed not to finish the sentence.
While Mavis was being attacked, Lucy jumps in time and kicks Jacob on the head. Jacob then tries to kill Lucy to make Mavis surrender, but Natsu wakes up in time and rushes to save her, much to her joy. Natsu tells Jacob that even if Lucy is left with her head, she would still be Lucy. However, Natsu then threatens to burn Jacob into ash for trying to harm Lucy, saying he would feel sorry for her if that happened.
Mavis and Happy are overjoyed at Natsu’s recovery, with Lucy warmly smiling and asking if Natsu had a good rest. Natsu confidently says yes to Lucy’s question and prepares to fight Jacob.
Together, Natsu and Lucy battled the Shield of Spriggan, but were overwhelmed by the assassin’s stealth magic, even with Loke’s help. Jacob then pins Natsu down, proclaiming he will show the Dragon Slayer “hell”. The Shield of Spriggan then makes Lucy’s Leo Star Dress invisible, much to Lucy’s embarrassment and Mavis’ shock. The assassin declares Natsu is in hell, only for a furious Lucy to scream that she is the one in hell now. As for Natsu, he is unfazed by the assassin’s actions, and questions how exactly it is hell (in the dub, he says Jacob has a “pretty weird concept of hell”).
A perplexed Jacob then asks how Natsu is undeterred, with the Dragon Slayer saying in a deadpan tone that Lucy wears skimpy clothes all the time, much to Lucy’s chagrin (in the dub, an annoyed Natsu says “I don’t know. It’s not like she wears that much anyway.” Lucy then yells “I wear clothes all the time, Natsu!”).
It’s then revealed that Jacob is the one actually suffering, refusing to look at Lucy in the state she is in, much to Lucy’s confusion. Natsu then takes advantage of the enemy’s frazzled state and acts like Lucy is taking off the rest of her clothes (when acting, he smirks and melodramatically tells Lucy not to do it). Happy then tells Lucy to play along, with the latter reluctantly agreeing.
Mavis then incredulously looks on at Natsu and Lucy’s intentions, while a flustered Jacob (with his eyes still closed) condemns then both for being “depraved and terribly lewd”, especially when Natsu and Lucy act as if Lucy has indeed taken off her underwear and she and Natsu are doing explicit actions, in a comedic manner.
Jacob then makes Lucy’s clothes visible again, only to be attacked by her and Natsu. The two the confidently smile as they prepare to fight back against the furious assassin. Meanwhile, an amazed Mavis has an epiphany, internally thinking she has finally found a way to defeat Zeref (which is later revealed to be using her own love for the Black Wizard against him).
Jacob then prepares to kill their friends after overwhelming Natsu and Lucy. However, Lucy used her quick thinking, and Natsu expressed pride in Lucy when she managed to outsmart Jacob by bringing back everyone to the guild hall using Gemini and a new Star Dress to nullify Jacob’s Spatial Magic through the Twins copying the imprisoned Marin. Lucy also smiled when Natsu defeated Jacob using Fire Dragon King Mode. Natsu later thanks Brandish for saving his life, with Lucy smiling alongside him.
Afterwards, Mavis reveals to Cana that she gained her idea to defeat Zeref by watching Natsu and Lucy fight Jacob, with the First Master intending to return to her normal self by having Cana use Fairy Glitter to break apart the crystal with her body in it.
Lucy and Natsu then travel with Brandish, Happy and later Mest to negotiate with the leading Shield of Spriggan, August. Before they set our, Natsu declares he will defeat August, with Lucy whacking him for not listening. On the way, Lucy pleadingly reminds Natsu not to try and pick a fight with August and that they are only negotiating. The two then look amazed at how Brandish is able to make Happy a giant so that they can all travel to meet the Wizard King.
During the journey, Natsu happily enjoys having a larger head, with a freaked out Lucy telling Brandish to turn Natsu back. However, Brandish replies that she did it since Natsu wanted it and is fine with it, before shrinking and then enlarging Lucy’s chest. An annoyed Lucy tells Brandish not to mess with other people’s bodies, only for Brandish to ask why she is so easy to tease, with a happy Natsu agreeing. After they approach August, Natsu and Lucy discuss how both the Shields of Spriggan have enormous power, with August far surpassing her. Mest internally panics at how Natsu and Lucy are not as terrified as him from August’s power.
During the negotiation, Lucy gets nervous when Brandish speak quite forcefully to August, hiding behind Natsu. She then pleads for Natsu not to glare at August, who first looks at him with intimidation.
Unfortunately, the negotiation goes awry because of Mest’s attempts to kill August by Brandish, much to Natsu and Lucy’s shock and horror. A disgusted Natsu calls out Mest, who tries to justify his intentions as protecting the guild.
However, an infuriated August transforms and puts Brandish to sleep. When Lucy rushes to help Brandish, Natsu senses the Wizard King’s fire spell and attempts to shield Lucy from the devastating attack, with the two of them being blown away together by the sheer force of August’s spell, before they are teleported by August's colleague, Irene Belserion, who enchants all of Fiore to speed up the war and drive away Acnologia.
Natsu ends up landing on top of Lucy, to her embarrassment, and groping her as well. Lucy and Natsu talk about August’s fire magic, with Natsu saying he mostly cancels it out. Lucy nervously asks Natsu twice to let go of her (in the anime, Lucy angrily pushes Natsu off and puts her hands to her chest, screaming, “Now cancel out your grabby hands!”).
Later on, Lucy and Natsu fight against the Alvarez army with their guildmates, before they are carried away by a giant Brandish during their confrontation with the Winter General Invel. Brandish offers to spare only them and Happy, claiming their friends are no match for the Spriggan 12, even though Natsu and Lucy declare they will protect them. Lucy watches as Natsu tells Brandish that she clearly does not know how strong Fairy Tail truly is and dares her to find out as Lucy protests against this decision.
However, before the conversation goes on, another one of the Spriggan 12, Neinhart, appears and, interpreting Brandish's actions as a possible betrayal, attacks her and the Fairy Tail mages. His actions are thwarted when Natsu ignores Brandish's pleas to not engage Neinhart and strikes him in the face sending him flying with one strike, shocking Brandish. Lucy cheers Natsu on for his victory and for his firm belief in their guild.
Natsu then prepares to confront Brandish, saying she will be fought too if they get in the Fairy Tail mages’ way. However, he suddenly clutches his chest and collapses with Happy and Lucy yelling out to him in concern. When Lucy asked her what happened, Brandish reminds them that she was the one who shrunk Natsu's tumor in the first place and returned it back to its normal size. Lucy questions the Shield of Spriggan on her actions and Brandish replies that although she no longer bears a personal grudge against Lucy, she must find out the answer to the uncertainty in her heart.
Lucy tries to wager a deal with Brandish that if she defeats her, the Shield of Spriggan will shrink the tumor. Brandish eventually accepts it and the two battle on, with Lucy on the losing side. Natsu tries to stand up to help Lucy, only to collapse and fall unconscious. Though Lucy knows she may not keep up with Brandish's magic and does not even want to fight the Shield of Spriggan, she exclaims that she will continue to fight for Natsu and protect him, no matter the cost.
Dimaria then interrupts the battle, immediately striking down Brandish, before kidnapping Natsu and Lucy and holding them captive. When Lucy wakes up, she finds an unconscious Natsu tied up and locked to a chair and realizes she is tied up too. Dimaria then snatches Lucy’s bikini top, with the embarrassed Fairy Tail Mage screaming for her to give it back. The Shield of Spriggan casually states she’ll have company as she intends to strip Natsu too.
Dimaria then tries to gouge out Lucy’s eyes to make her scream and cry. The Celestial Mage stands undeterred and dares her enemy to do so. Fortunately for Lucy (who internally calls out for Natsu), at the last second, Natsu wakes up, unleashes his power as E.N.D. and breaks free of his constraints. Completely able to move within Dimaria's Age Spell, he brutally attacks a shocked Shield of Spriggan, saving Lucy. After defeating Dimaria, Natsu then checked if Lucy is alright, but finds blood around Lucy's eyes and after trying to wake her, he presumed that the non-responsive Lucy was dead (not knowing this was a result of Dimaria's magic).
The loss of his closest friend causes Natsu to shed tears and swear vengeance on Zeref. This also leads to his newfound demon power to possess him and Natsu left the chamber in search of his brother.
Not long after, Dimaria's magic wears off, and Lucy soon awoke, looking for Natsu, only to find a dazed and wounded Dimaria who informed her that Natsu was a monster and demon, as she found it unbelievable that he was able to move in her time-stopping magic, able to surpass a god as E.N.D. Lucy was horrified at the thought of Natsu being the one who attacked Dimaria. When Porlyuscia arrived with Happy, Brandish and Evergreen, Lucy was shocked to learn that there wasn't a tumor inside Natsu, but instead a demonic power that has taken over him. Fearing what could happen causes Lucy to want to find Natsu as soon as possible, only for Evergreen and Brandish to remind her of her state of dress, with the mortified Celestial Mage screaming and covering her chest.
All the while this happened, a demonic Natsu searches for Zeref, burning every enemy soldier in his path, before suspecting his elder brother was at the guild hall. Before he could make his move there, he is confronted by Gray (who has learned of Natsu's status as E.N.D from Invel) resulting in a fierce battle between the former friends.
After comforting Brandish, Lucy gets changed and prepares to look for Natsu with Happy.
As their fight went on, Natsu recalled what happened with Lucy and stated he wouldn't let anything stop him from defeating Zeref.
Natsu's fight with Gray is soon broken up by Erza (who reminds them of their past) and after Gray loses consciousness from seeing Juvia. Natsu slowly does so too and is caught by a worried Lucy. Relieved that she was still alive, Natsu smiles and loses consciousness in her arm as Lucy prepares to take him Porlyuscia, carrying him in the way. Lucy then shielded Natsu when Irene attacked until the latter was affected by a strange force (a spell caused by Larcade Dragneel), allowing Lucy to take Natsu away from the battle.

As Natsu laid unconscious, Lucy sat with him worried about his condition and defended him when Dimaria called Natsu a demon, stating she knows more about him than she ever would after Dimaria cynically says there was a hidden side to everyone. Lucy went on with revealing that while Natsu may be violent, rough and reckless, he was honest and straightforward with no other side to him. This leads to her being teased by Evergreen, who tells Brandish that Lucy is in love with Natsu as the latter falls into a state of embarrassment and blushingly denies this accusation.[16] Lucy stares at Natsu while stating Natsu was the main reason for her joining Fairy Tail in the first place and expresses gratitude. Suddenly, Natsu's body starts to give off smoke, which worries Lucy as she feels Natsu's body getting cold while she screams out his name.
In the anime only, Lucy begs Natsu to open his eyes, and despairs even more when Porlyuscia states that if Natsu’s temperature drops any further, it could be fatal.

In his subconscious, Natsu sees Anna Heartfilia (Lucy's ancestor) and notices she resembles Lucy before he finds out that she is the one who made his scarf from Igneel's scales. In reality, Porlyuscia orders Lucy to strip and use her body heat to raise Natsu's body temperature (in the English dub, she says Natsu needs to feel Lucy’s love and a miracle is needed to save the comatose Dragon Slayer).
Lucy profusely blushes before agreeing only to stop when Natsu starts to mutter in his sleep about defeating Zeref. She is shocked when a tearful Happy lets it slip that if Zeref were to be defeated then Natsu will die along with him, while questioning the Exceed what he means.
Afterwards, a blushing Lucy, along with Happy, were shown trying to warm up Natsu’s body with their body temperature while hoping that he will wake up soon.
In the anime only, Lucy expresses extreme fear when Natsu still won’t wake up. However, Porlyuscia tells her not to give up and that Lucy must keep calling to Natsu, telling him that she cares, or else he would be lost forever. Lucy then pleads for Natsu to stay strong.

After making a decision in his mental journey about being human, Natsu wakes up as Lucy tearfully expresses immense joy that he is alright, before berating him for worrying her. Natsu then questions why Lucy is naked as she covers herself up in embarrassment, profusely blushing.
Porlyusica then appears and tells Natsu of what Lucy was trying to do, as well as asking him to thank her. After understanding, Natsu gratefully thanks her as Lucy, blushing, states she doesn't need his thanks. Lucy then inquires as to what Happy means about him dying if Zeref were to be killed.
Natsu then scolds Happy for letting that information slip, but then quickly reassures a worried Lucy that he'll be alright, telling her some information about his mental journey and states he is "human" but Lucy continues to feel worried.
When the effects of Universe One wore off after Irene’s suicide, the group are teleported to a shocked Lucy's apartment, where Natsu states they will begin their journey back to the guild to which Lucy smiles in agreement.
After the two and Happy get changed, Natsu and Lucy meet up with Brandish (along with a shrunken Dimaria) for the final time during the war. Natsu apologises to the rapidly panicking Dimaria, saying that he thought she killed Lucy, and went berserk because of that.
Then, after Gildarts intervenes to stop August from destroying Magnolia, Lucy soon follows Natsu when he deduces that Gray is heading for the Fairy Tail guild, where Zeref is waiting. When Gray arrives, Zeref voices how he is aware of many people, regardless of their relevance to him. The Black Wizard even admits that Lucy has played a large part in Natsu’s growth.
Natsu, Lucy and Happy then find him in the midst of a confrontation with Zeref before Natsu stops Gray from sacrificing himself. When Natsu declares to Gray that he won't die if Zeref dies, Lucy says his name in a worried tone and internally wonders if it is true, even trusting him. She soon watches as Natsu prepares for his second fight with Zeref. Lucy watches as Natsu duels Zeref before he is overpowered due to not having Igneel's power to help him.
Much later, the battle becomes equal, Lucy continues to watch it intently before Mavis telepathically contacts her and the others, telling them she is on her way to the guild and they must meet up with her. Although hesitant to leave Natsu with his brother, Lucy is ultimately swayed to leave when Mavis tells her that Natsu's fate coincides with her plan and is told to believe in Natsu. Before leaving, Lucy tells Natsu not to lose, which he overhears and tells her that he won't as he and Zeref continue fighting.
Lucy and her group soon met with Mavis, who revealed that she came into possession of the Book of E.N.D. which she stole while escaping from Zeref. After Happy notes on the book being Natsu's, Lucy is speechless as she realizes she is (literally) holding Natsu's life in her hands, as Mavis tells them of her plan to defeat Zeref without endangering Natsu's life.
While waiting on the benches near the guild hall, Lucy holds the Book of E.N.D, and she tearfully expresses her confusion as to how one book can contain Natsu's life, because she sees him as a normal boy.
After calming down, Lucy tells Gray that he shouldn't think of destroying the book as the latter states he didn't know it was Natsu's when he first thought of it. When Happy suggests opening the book, Lucy ponders on it before thinking of what Mavis said about saving Natsu and decides to do so. After opening the book, several letters come out as Lucy looks on in shock, noting all of the letters are information about Natsu.
Lucy then works out that Natsu and the demonic time are connected to each other, and plans to rewrite the words of the one page that can save Natsu’s life. She was able to rewrite parts of the book that had disappeared when Natsu was fatally injured, remembering every single word that had disappeared, allowing him to recover. However, rewriting the demon book caused painful red marks to spread across her body. Even though the demonic flames from the book begin to burn her, Lucy still intends to help Natsu by trying to understand the magic, despite Happy’s protests.
Seeing Lucy’s resolve to save Natsu, Gray uses his ice magic to help her and placate the demonic flames. While Zeref expresses initial shock at someone attempting to rewrite the demonic scripture, he then tells his revived brother that the one rewriting the book will die soon. However, instead of being concerned by that possibility, Natsu gratefully thanks Lucy for her efforts, and, once again, declares his goal to fight for Fairy Tail after condemning himself for thinking of only himself, understanding everything that has happened. In the anime only, as Natsu clashes with Zeref by setting his spirit on fire, Lucy, Gray and Happy notice from afar, with Lucy continuing to rewrite the scripture to help Natsu win.
After immobilizing Zeref and leaving him with Mavis, Natsu reunites with Lucy and the others. Prior to this, Lucy filled in the memories of Natsu, before Gray purges the red markings from her body with his Demon Slayer magic.
Lucy then tearfully cries in joy when seeing Natsu again, after Happy fears Natsu would have disappeared with the book. Lucy then praised Natsu for defeating Zeref, saying “That’s our Natsu for you!” Natsu then says he thinks Mavis has passed away, but reassures a distraught Lucy, Gray and Happy that they shouldn’t be too upset, believing things ended in the way the First Master wanted them to. Natsu says they should return to the guild with smiles on their faces, with Lucy and the others happily agreeing.
As they are walking towards the guild hall, Lucy asks about the thing Natsu and Happy wanted to do after the war ended. Happy then decided to ask Natsu if they should let Lucy know, but Natsu is nowhere to be seen. It is revealed that Natsu is brought into the rift in time by Acnologia. However, it appeared to the others that he had died because Zeref's died, and Lucy breaks down, thinking that her attempt to rewrite the Book of E.N.D. wasn't enough to save Natsu, screaming his name to the sky in despair.
Lucy and the others then meet up with the rest of the guild and discover the true cause of Natsu's disappearance after Erza reveals Natsu is alive. Lucy retrieves a book containing the spell Fairy Sphere, in order to trap Acnologia's body inside. To perform it, the guild travels to Hargeon, the same town in which Lucy and Natsu first met. Lucy, recalling her memories of their first encounter, states that she knows they'll meet there again.
After Natsu destroys Acnologia, Lucy happily states he and the rest of the Dragon Slayers won. The seven Dragon Slayers are set free from the Rift in Time, with Natsu landing on top of Lucy and Happy, who both joyfully welcome him back.
One year after the war, Lucy became a writer and won an award for her book "The Adveture of Iris." Lucy feels embarrassed when the Fairy Tail mages get up to their usual antics, only for Natsu to casually say it’s impossible for them to behave. During the party, Gajeel makes a remark about how Anna and Lucy have the same exact smell, making it possibly the reason why Natsu also likes Anna, and by extension, Lucy. This makes Lucy blush in sheer embarrassment, even though Natsu somewhat agrees with Gajeel, as well as saying that he feels more relaxed when he is around Lucy, due to her scent being very similar to Anna’s. Natsu, Lucy, and the rest of the Fairy Tail mages even witness Zeref and Mavis at the party, reincarnated as Alios and Milo, respectively. They all smile at the pleasant exchange the two have with each other.
The morning after the party, Lucy wakes up in her bed, fearing everything was just a dream, only to discover Natsu and Happy in her house once again. The two then revealed that Lucy got so drunk at the party that they had to bring her back home, with Natsu carrying Lucy at her request, as well as having to change her clothes for her and rest in bed with her. Natsu feared Lucy would not like it when Happy wanted to tell, but Lucy still remembered it all suddenly, and bemoaned how she could never get married now. However, Natsu assures her she can still go on jobs with him as wizards.
Lucy then remembers her times with Natsu, and after crying, she suddenly hugs him and Happy gratefully, thanking them for everything they have done for her, and that she wouldn’t be who she was today if she never met them.
Natsu holds onto Lucy, saying he has to tell her something important, but he says never mind and that they can talk about it after their job. It turns out that that they have been accepted to take on the 100 Years Quest (the thing Natsu and Happy wanted to do after the war was over) and that they must get to work immediately.
Lucy gets quite upset that he didn't tell her what he was going to say and complains about Natsu dismissing her sentiments. However, Natsu confidently says it's fine and says that they're always going to be together from now on, much to Lucy’s surprise, and possible happiness.
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest[]
Note: This is the official sequel to the main/original story (manga). The storyboard is by Hiro Mashima, and the art is by Atsuo Ueda. Because this spinoff is written by Hiro Mashima and promoted/endorsed by him, it's considered a canon continuation. As of 2021, an anime adaption has also been green lit.
Embarking on the 100 Year Quest, Natsu, Lucy and the gang makes it to the Magia Dragon Guild where they encounter a Dragon named Elefseria, founder of the Magia Guild. Natsu bravely questions if the Dragon is the client for the mission when Lucy hesitantly asks Natsu if he can be more polite about it. When Natsu finds out that the Dragon is actually a human, Elefseria transforms back into a human and reveals he is a Dragon Slayer and ended up becoming a Dragon due to overusing his Dragon Slayer Magic. While talking about himself, he teleports around the guild, even on Lucy's chest. An angry Natsu then tries to grab Elefseria, but ends up putting his hand in between Lucy's chest, making her feel embarrassed. Before they set out, Lucy smiles when Natsu says they will complete the 100 Years’ Quest in response to Elefeseria calling the group “the last hope” at the task.
While travelling through Valeria, in the south of Guiltina, the group comes across a bunch of walking jellyfish. Both Natsu and Lucy end up having jellyfish jump in their mouths (Natsu laughs when Lucy first gets a jellyfish in her mouth, believing that the jellyfish do want to be eaten.)
Once Team Natsu made it to Ermina, the gang finds a hotel with a fish that turns into human. The human then advises the gang to drink a magic potion otherwise they wouldn't survive in the town. While enjoying their time underwater, the fish reveals himself to be Kashima. While Gray asks the whereabouts of the Water Dragon God, Kashima then goes aggressive, as well as the other fishes and starts attacking Natsu and the gang. One of the fish then strips Lucy's swimsuit (much to Lucy’s embarrassment and Natsu’s anger) and while the gang escapes, Natsu then hold onto a half naked Lucy while swimming away. Lucy is then seen wearing Natsu’s scarf around her chest and when Natsu (initially staring at Lucy) asks for his scarf back, she says she needs it since the fish stole her swimsuit. Natsu then suggests Lucy should change into one of her Star Dresses, which Lucy says is a good idea, but expresses annoyance when Natsu still attempts to pull his scarf off of her just because he feels like it. Natsu then decides to turn the people into “fried fish”, only for Lucy to reply that they are just “protecting their own faith and don’t seem like such bad people to [her]”. However, when Natsu asks if it includes the one “who pulled off [her] swimsuit”, Lucy declares it as the exception and vows to label it a pervert on its face.
Natsu, Lucy and Happy then find Kiria, who breaks free from her restraints and reveals herself to be a Fifth Generation Dragon Slayer (or Dragon Eater) of the Diabolos Guild. Lucy then expresses concern when Kiria attacks Natsu. When the Blade Dragon Slayer then shreds Lucy’s Aquarius Star Dress to ribbons (leaving her naked), Natsu looks in shock while blushing.
When Mercphobia later appears before the group and after Kiria and Madmole leave unwillingly due to Skullion, Mercphobia remarks Elefseria’s determination in sending “assassins after [him] for a hundred years now”. Natsu plainly asks if Mercphobia is good or bad, with Lucy nervously replying that he is very direct and assures Natsu that the quest doesn’t end because Mercphobia is not hostile to them, only for the Water Dragon God to reply he must be sealed.
Meanwhile, back in Magnolia, Gajeel, Lily and Juvia are spying on Touka (who joined Fairy Tail to be with “her dear Natsu-sama”. Juvia had previously replied that Natsu is surrounded by many women, with Lucy at the top of the list). Juvia has a vivid imagination of Lucy and Touka then arguing about who Natsu should be with (even tugging on the Dragon Slayer from both sides), after she and Gajeel discover Touka lives in the room next to Lucy’s.
Later, after the Diabolos members flee, Natsu declares the next course of action is to go back to Mercphobia’s palace, happily saying things are fine since they chased off Diabolos and have no intentions of killing the Water Dragon God. Lucy nervously notes how Natsu always looks on the bright side. On the way back, the mages are cramped in a small boat, with a motion sickness Natsu pressed into an uncomfortable Lucy.
Returning to Ermina, the Fairy Tail mages are forced to confront Mercphobia, when he loses control of himself from the White Mage’s interference. Things become dire very rapidly, and Mercphobia eventually casts a whirlpool in the sky. Natsu is then pulled towards it, with Lucy and the others watching in horror as he is completely helpless. Lucy then screams Natsu’s name in despair as he is pulled in, before she falls to her knees in devastation.

Fortunately, before it’s too late, Ignia, the Fire Dragon God, and Igneel’s son by blood, intervenes and saves Natsu. However, tensions between Igneel’s sons when Ignia sets fire to Ermina and threatens to kill Natsu’s friends to strengthen him for a fight to the death. Ignia then gives an ultimatum to Natsu: to eat his flames and defeat Mercphobia, or watch the Water Dragon God kill his friends instead.
After Ignia flies away, Natsu then reluctantly eats the Fire Dragon God’s flames and attains Dragon Force. Lucy and the others watch on in shock as Natsu is now able to overpower Mercphobia, even throwing the Water Dragon God over his shoulder. While the others watch in shock and amazement, Lucy trembles in fear, admitting this was the first time she is scared by Natsu’s flames.
Eventually, Mercphobia is defeated, but Natsu's power seems to overcome him, leading him to mercilessly state his desire to burn everything, starting with Mercphobia, much to everyone’s horror. Before he can cause any damage, though he is suddenly hugged from behind by Lucy, who urges him to calm down because the battle is already over, saying she is there for him. Eventually, her words reach him and he falls out of Dragon Force with Lucy still hugging him.
Lucy then confronts Natsu after he does not remember what he had done and becomes embarrassed when Natsu lifts up her shirt after she revealed that her chest was completely burned. Natsu still feels guilty after Lucy says she is fine and then opts to “sterilise the area by peeing on it”, before Lucy flatly tells him to stop. Both of them soon express how the breeze above the city feels good.
After leaving Ermina, Team Natsu arrives in Tekka City, late at night, Lucy feels confident that it would be easy to defeat Aldoron with Natsu’s flames, but quickly expresses concern to herself when she remembers how Natsu lost control of himself. Fortunately, she then decides to believe that Natsu will be alright, after he gleefully draws on Erza’s face in retaliation for her chasing him and Wendy when they erased a train route on their map (since they obviously refused to ride the train).
They then encounter the celebrity guild Fairy Nail, where Natsu and Lucy observe their counterparts, Nash and Lusha, who are an actor and manager respectively. When Lucy observes Nash harshly criticizing Lusha, and carrying her into another room, she angrily follows him, intent on criticizing him. However, she returns with a flushed, and very embarrassed face, much to Natsu’s concern and confusion, before it's revealed that the two of them are actually in a relationship.
Later again, in the same town, while the two are out with Wendy, Lucy is hit on by a number of guys, only for Natsu to angrily intervene, apparently burning Lucy's clothes in the process (including her underwear, much to Lucy's anger). He's later seen with his head in her lap, down with motion sickness as she comforts him. Lucy teasingly calls him “Natsu-kun” after Natsu laughs at the incident and then gets motion sick beforehand.

Not long after arriving in the city of Draseal, during the battle against the members of Fairy Tail were Whited out by the White Mage, Lucy is teased by Cana and Juvia about Touka's apparent crush on Natsu, with Juvia saying that Touka is now Lucy's "love rival" and Cana says Lucy should be quick before Touka takes Natsu; Juvia had already revealed beforehand about the White Mage’s two personalities, with her “Touka” personality being deeply in love with Natsu, with Lucy nervously smiling at that.
However, while Lucy blushes, she nervously says that she only feels sorry for Touka (and anyone who is interested in Natsu for that matter), lamenting that Natsu does not seem to have any interest in such things like romance, and calling him dense. Luckily, Touka is revealed to be an Exceed that is enamoured with Happy instead, having accidentally muddled the names of Natsu and Happy at their first encounter during the year of Natsu’s training journey.
Later, as Natsu's fighting the God Seed, Aldoron, Lucy expresses concern for him, and later cries out when Aldoron is shown being slain. Fortunately, when he's found and revealed to be alive, she tearfully embraces him as the rest of the guild watches.
While relaxing with in the Aldo Spring, with the rest of the Fairy Tail women, Lucy is shrunk down by Brandish as a joke. Lucy then goes surfing on a bar of soap, with Levy pointing out that she has “turned into Natsu.” She later encounters Natsu, shrunk, who takes her around in attempt to find Brandish, with Natsu carrying Lucy on his head. They eventually find her, where Brandish turns all the women back to their regular side, causing Lucy to accidentally crash down onto Natsu's head. With nothing but a towel, Natsu gives Lucy his coat to cover herself with.

Later, after the White Mage, whose named is revealed to be "Faris, awakes, she casts a spell that accidentally sends the whole of Team Natsu to Edolas. Before this, a reluctant Natsu and Happy go shopping with Lucy for clothes, before Natsu recommends that Lucy uses one of her Star Dresses. Lucy then transforms into her Virgo Star Dress, with Happy commenting that she seems flirty.
When they arrive, Lucy’s Star Dress vanishes, and screams in embarrassment at being naked, cowering behind a rock. Natsu eagerly wants to see, much to Wendy’s dismay and exasperation, with the Sky Dragon Slayer telling the Fire Dragon Slayer to stop. They are soon greeted by a young girl with pink hair, who refers to Lucy as "mama", much to Lucy's shock. However, they're quickly also approached by an older woman who turns out to be Edolas Lucy, where it's revealed that girl, Nasha, is the daughter of her and Edolas Natsu, much to Earth-Lucy's embarrassment, and Natsu's intrigue. Natsu quickly takes a shine to Nasha (even expressing a desire to take her back with them), while Earth-Lucy borrows some of her Edolas counterparts old clothes, and Edolas Lucy encourages her, saying that she and Natsu will eventually work it out, though Earth-Lucy remains skeptical.

The team is sent back to Earthland by Mystogan, but they are ambushed by the Moon Dragon God, Selene, who incapacitates Faris and transports them to Elentear, the Critical Magic World, where Natsu and Lucy get separated, and are challenged by two members of Selene's Moonlight Divinities, Hakune and Mimi respectively; both of them are unfortunately defeated. During Natsu’s fight, Hakune creates constructs of many of the woman in Fairy Tail, including Lucy, who seductively tells Natsu to touch her; Natsu, seeing through this illusion, banishes all of them, noting that none of them actually smell like his friends. After being defeated, Natsu is held prisoner along with Gray by Selene's minions, before the Moon Dragon God transports them down to Onigatsuki, a network of caves below the mountain they're on. Natsu is initially enthusiastic by the prospect of fighting the yokai that lurk down there, until he's suddenly caught by Lucy, who has been transformed by Yoko of the Moonlight Divinities into a half-snake/half-woman yokai known as a "nure-onna".

With Natsu in Lucy's coils, he expresses horror at her transformation, though admits that having his face buried in her bosom feels good. Lucy licks Natsu seductively, declaring her desire to "eat" him, as Natsu calls out to her to change back. In response, Lucy slams him into the ground with her tail, saying how it's an embarrassing with Natsu talking into her breasts like that, with Natsu retorting that she should put on some clothes, then. The two then express their anticipation to actual fight for the first time, before jumping at each other. The two exchange blows, with Natsu having difficulty landing a hit, before Lucy floods the chamber that they're in, diving, and knocking Natsu into the ceiling. A frustrated Natsu moves to counterattack, but Lucy appears to regain her senses, begging Natsu to stop; but when he hesitates, Lucy reveals it to be a ruse, as she hits him with Aqua Metria, cruelly mocking him for letting down his guard as he falls to the ground. Angered by this, Natsu enters Lighting Flame Dragon Mode, but before he can attack, he's interrupted by the arrival of Aquarius, who tells him she'll handle Lucy, while criticizing Natsu for using a mode that would likely seriously hurt her.

Aquarius instructs Natsu to stand down, insisting she'll handle Lucy, to which Lucy arrogantly refutes that. The Water Bearer then questions the Celestial Spirit Mage’s appearance, asking if she is trying to seduce someone again. An annoyed Lucy tells Aquarius to shut it; unimpressed by her master’s new attitude, Aquarius engages her with a powerful attack (washing away Natsu in the process). However, despite initially managing to counter Aquarius attack, Lucy's quickly overpowered by her, as Aquarius repeatedly smacks her across the face, much to Natsu's shock and confusion. Aquarius soon embraces Lucy, reminding her of who she is, and asking if she's forgotten about Natsu. She then uses her magic to show Lucy her suppressed memories; at first, Lucy attempts to resist, but soon begins to cry. As he watches from the water, Natsu softly expresses his concern for Lucy, as she breaks down in Aquarius arms, who firmly, but gently, affirms Lucy's identity to her. With Lucy's senses and self-identity restored, Aquarius gives her a sound, final spank, which finally, and fully undoes the transformation, and turns her back to a human. Lucy, apparently with no memory of being a yokai, ponders why her cheeks and behind hurt so much, before being surprised by Aquarius' appearance, with Natsu expressing joy and relief at Lucy's return. Aquarius expresses her desire to help them, before Lucy embraces her, and Natsu thanks her.
Later, after they find Wendy and the Exceeds (also transformed into yokai) and turn them back to normal, the situation is explained to them. Lucy expresses embarrassment when Aquarius reveals that she was completely naked, and when Natsu notes that she pushed his face into her chest. Later, when battling Yoko and her yokai, Natsu calls out for Lucy when she's attacked, and later praises her ability when summoning all her spirits. After Erza defeats Yoko, Natsu, while getting back his scarf from a tanuki, runs into Suzaku, one of Diabolos’ Dark Dragon Slayer Knights. Despite the Vermillion Dragon taking amusement at Natsu and the rest of his friends, he soon recognises them as his enemies, and swears to avenge his comrades, ruthlessly cutting down both Ezra and Natsu in one strike each. Lucy screams in horror when Suzaku easily defeats Natsu, who quickly falls to the ground. Lucy then carries Natsu as the Fairy Tail mages are forced to flee when Selene, Hakune and Mimi arrive. After the Moonlight Divinities are defeated, Elentear becomes unstable, with everyone panicking. However, Natsu and Erza then wake up, determined to defeat Selene and save the Critical Magic World, with Lucy and the others smiling in relief.
Unfortunately, Selene escapes from Elentear after being overwhelmed by Suzaku, and the Fairy Tail mages are left to deal with the emergence of the hands across the realm. After Wendy discovers the hands are related to the Face weapons used by Tartaros, Touka ponders on what to do, with a confident Natsu saying that they obviously attack the main body, with everyone smiling in agreement. Lucy then summons Virgo, who digs a tunnel to the main body. Natsu then points out that he can see the Maiden’s underwear, with an embarrassed Lucy telling him not to do that.
After Team Natsu defeats Alta Face, the source of Elentear’s overflow of magic, the caverns start to collapse, with the magic power still being incredibly high. Natsu declares he would eat the magic if it overflows, which Lucy protests against. They then proceed to escape from the caverns with Virgo’s help. The Whiteout mages then stabilise the realm, before everyone celebrates in harmony. Before Team Natsu leaves, Faris admits her guilt for causing so much trouble, even begging be to struck down with everything for her crimes. Natsu proposed the idea, with Lucy protesting against it, knowing Natsu plans to hit the imposter White Mage with everything he has. Lucy and the others look on in worry as Natsu prepares himself, only to be relieved when Natsu lightly taps Faris’ forehead, with the Fire Dragon Slayer expressing his thanks from his heart, even saying it had been too long since he fought with everyone, and hoped for a third round of the Battle of Fairy Tail. Lucy smiles and says “That’s our Natsu” when Faris is perplexed at how Natsu can thank her.
During the dinner with Elefseria, the Law Dragon shrinks himself in order to fit in Lucy's cleavage again, causing an angry Natsu to shove his own hand in between Lucy's breasts in order to remove Elefseria, yelling ''Where do you think you're slipping in between?!''[17], before a flustered Lucy asks Natsu the same thing. After Hikage, Elefseria's pet crow reveals that there are intruders in the Great Labyrinth of Dogra (revealed to be the corpse of the sixth Dragon God, the Earth Dragon God Dogramag), Team Natsu rushes to the Labyrinth and meet Gajeel, Laxus and Lily, before being confronted by Selene, who has become the new Guild Master of Diabolos and reveals her intentions to obtain Elefseria's heart, before she announces her intentions of placing the Fairy Tail members against the Diabolos members in a "game" for the heart.
When Selene teleports the Fairy Tail members into the Labyrinth, Natsu, Lucy and Happy get separated from the others, with Natsu and Happy laughing at Lucy's misfortune of being stuck in the walls of the Labyrinth, coining her as "Wall-Lu", much to her immense embarrassment and anger. After Natsu messes around with Lucy, he attempts to break the wall to set her free, only to find that it cannot be broken with his strength. Suddenly, the White Tiger Dragon Haku shows up and turns Lucy into a plush doll, much to Natsu’s outrage. Natsu demands Haku to turn Lucy back to normal, but the young Diabolos member refuses, saying she looks cuter as a doll, and then turns Natsu and Happy into plush dolls as well. The Fairy Tail mages are then chased by a dog doll after it is revealed that Natsu’s fire magic would be fatal for him and a summoned Virgo cannot dig through the Labyrinth floors. Selene, while watching, simply dismisses the retreat as a temporary dropout.
Fortunately, Natsu and Lucy are able to defeat the dog doll with Loke’s plan; after Loke leaves, Natsu swears that they will find Haku and teach the young Diabolos member how scary adults can be, with a confused Lucy and Happy asking if he is a grown-up himself. Later on, after Wendy defeats Haku, Natsu, Lucy and Happy return to normal just as they are being chased by a boulder. Natsu then trips over Lucy and they both tumble downhill until they fall into a pit and end up in a very compromising position, much to Happy and Selene’s amusement, with Happy remarking “Here we go again” and Selene stating Fairy Tail made a comeback.
Then, as the Great Labyrinth begins to change its terrain, Natsu and Lucy become separated from each other. They both try to reach out for each other, but to no avail. Natsu then expresses concern for Lucy’s whereabouts before confronting Suzaku. During Natsu’s rematch with Suzaku, when Suzaku attempts to question Natsu’s general intelligence outside of battles by asking him what twelve minus five is, while thinking of the answer (even though he gets it wrong), he thinks of twelve as the number of Lucy’s gate keys. Natsu then, in order to protect his friends, forms a truce with Suzaku after Ignia unexpectedly makes his presence known within the Labyrinth in front of the Dragon Slayers and ravages the Labyrinth after being goaded by Natsu as a chicken.
Meanwhile, Lucy fights against Kiria again. After escaping from serious harm thanks to Horologium and Gemini, and understanding Laxus’ words of the Fairy Tail guild’s bonds, she transforms into a Star Dress Mix of Aquarius and Gemini to defeat Kiria. Before she transforms, she remembers the bonds with her friends, with her memories of her bond with Natsu being the first ones she remembers. While preparing the Gottfried spell with clones of Yukino and Hisui that ultimately defeats Kiria, Lucy summons water clones to distract Kiria, with a water clone of Natsu appearing among them.
Afterwards, Natsu and Suzaku continue to search for Ignia, but both are unable to trace the Fire Dragon God’s scent, despite it being close to his father Igneel’s. They then run into Happy, who is relieved to see Natsu again. Natsu then asks Happy “Weren’t you with Lucy?!”, extremely worried and grimly stating that things are bad, believing Lucy would be safe with Happy. However, Happy assures Natsu that Lucy will be fine, while Suzaku silently thinks Natsu puts too much faith in Happy.
Much later on, after Dogramag is revealed to have been alive all along (despite his initial death at the Law Dragon’s hands), Selene asks the Fairy Tail members to destroy the 72 Dogra Cores within the labyrinth to weaken the Earth Dragon God, who engaged Natsu and Suzaku in battle after Ignia left. When there is only one core left, the portals Selene created soon disappear due to her using up all her magic and her grave wounds from her battle with Ignia. When Lucy says they should help Natsu fight Dogramag, Selene tells her that they must leave the labyrinth if they trust Natsu, much to Lucy’s concern.
After Natsu and Suzaku finally kill Dogramag, the Labyrinth begins to collapse. Lucy expresses worry when Natsu is still inside, but soon becomes relieved when Misaki and Haku bring Natsu and Suzaku out with them as plush dolls, before they return to normal.
During the dinner between Fairy Tail and Diabolos at the latter’s guild hall, Natsu expresses his desire to take on Laxus (who is still feuding with Kirin) and then all of Diabolos’ members, with Lucy pleading him not to pick a fight in response of what everyone is to do next. Lucy then looks on in brief surprise when Natsu understands what Selene desires and how Diabolos aims to achieve it, with the Fire Dragon Slayer saying looking at the Five Dragon Gods’ hearts and deciding what to do is the way to move forward.
Soon after, everyone goes to bathe in Diabolos’ public bath, with Selene connecting both sides of the bath to discuss with Elefseria about her intentions to defeat the Five Dragon Gods. During this discussion, a curious Natsu swims through Selene’s portal, and ends up tickling Lucy’s feet when he reaches the other side. Lucy then giggles because of how she becomes suddenly ticklish (which defuses tensions between Elefseria and Selene, who angrily asks what is funny), before Natsu pops up from beneath her, noting how the bath sides are indeed connected. Lucy blushes in embarrassment and anger at Natsu and furiously slaps him in retaliation (which leaves a handprint on his face after he returns to the men’s side).
Selene watches this spectacle and then smiles, realising that men, women, humans and dragons can all talk despite their differences, and using this epiphany, prepares to engage in conversation with Elefseria about his “100-year-wish”.

Fairies at the Beach[]
Lucy Telling Natsu and Gray Not to Interfere with the Photo Shoot
With Sorcerer Magazine posting a job to find someone from Fairy Tail to be the cover of their latest magazine issue Sorcerer Magazine, Lucy quickly accepts the job and came to the beach for the photo shoot. Natsu and Gray suddenly show up and are surprised that Lucy even prepared her own swimsuit, which Lucy thinks that they came to see her in it. However, Natsu and Gray ignore her after they found a weird looking bug. Lucy gets their attention and warns Natsu and Gray that she will never forgive them if they interfere with the photo shoot. But when Natsu and Gray say that they aren't interested in that, Lucy became even more furious and asks why they were even there. Natsu says that they came to the beach to catch a boar and an angered Lucy yells at them to go to a mountain and find one there. Just then Erza shows up with her hoard of luggage behind her, and sighs as she says that the Master really wants to eat Boar Stew, with Lucy replies again to find one at a mountain.[18]

Gray asks Lucy if she had any experience in photo shoot, which she replies with no. With that, they ask Lucy to practice posing and making expressions. Erza and Gray comment on her pose, but Natsu's comment makes Lucy kick him in the face. Slowly, Lucy becomes better at posing and Natsu and Gray become excited. With one final pose, Lucy finds out that Natsu and Gray are getting excited because they found a boar on the beach. The boys and Erza chase after it.[19]
The Chaos at the Beach
The editor and the photographer of the Sorcerer Magazine show up and are wondering about what kind of girl Lucy is. But when they saw the big mess at the beach, they believed that they came to the wrong beach and state that there is probably a photo shoot for some dirty magazine. The magazine staff then left without Lucy knowing that they ever arrived. Nightfall comes with an exhausted Happy and Lucy who says that the staff is late.[20]
Special Mission: Beware of Guys Who Show a Keen Interest![]
On a typical day in Fairy Tail, Lucy is sitting in front of the counter of the bar while sighing that she's bored. Mirajane, who's cleaning dishes, asks why doesn't she go take a job. Lucy replies that Natsu wants to take a little break, which Mirajane told her that she can take one alone or go with somebody else. Lucy wants to, but she's on Natsu's team, so she feels obligated to respect Natsu's decision. At that point, Mirajane notices that they get along really well as if they are a "couple in love", which Lucy immediately denies. Mirajane further teases Lucy saying that Natsu may actually have feelings for Lucy. Lucy glances towards Natsu and sees a scene where Natsu and Happy are pretending to be Ninjas. Lucy then tells Mirajane that even if he's interested, she still won't accept him. Yet, Mirajane replies that they could be a really nice couple. As Lucy walks home, she denies the fact and wishes that Mirajane didn't say weird things like that.[21]
Natsu Trespassing Lucy's Home Again
At her home, Lucy sees that Natsu is trespassing in her house again. She then yells at him for showing up at people's house without permission. Natsu tells Lucy that she has something important to tell her, while Lucy states that he must really like her house. All of the sudden the conversation between her and Mirajane had just moments ago popped up in her mind. Blushing and backed to a wall, Lucy trembles as she tells Natsu to go out. Natsu tells her to hold on and listen to what he has to say, but Lucy screams at Natsu to get out, which scares him quite a bit. Natsu comments that she's quite moody today as he leaves from the window, Lucy tells him to leave from the front door. At that point, Lucy's heart is pounding quite loud and she wonders what's going on.[22]
Natsu Asking Lucy if She's Feeling Any Better
The next day at the guild, Lucy is reading a book while eating a chocolate bar. Natsu shows up very suddenly behind her and holds her by the shoulder while asking if she's feeling better. Lucy, however, is shocked and potentially chokes a bit. She pushes Natsu away and tells him not to touch her all of the sudden, and left with a red face. As she walks away, she thinks that she is thinking about this too much. Lucy then overhears the conversation between Krev and Nighi that Natsu likes someone and keeps saying things like he wants to see her. She immediately thinks that it is her and wonders what to do. As her heart beats loudly, Lucy keeps on thinking about her relationship with Natsu. Her imagination, however, interrupts her thought and "beautifies" Natsu. Lucy tries to tell her imagination to knock it off, the imagination continues and imagines them as the perfect couple, making Lucy on the verge of insanity. Natsu finally gets Lucy's attention, and tells her that he wants to say something important to her tonight. Now officially convinced with a scream in her head, she listens. Natsu tells Lucy that she should meet him at the tree in the South Park. As she asks why, Natsu tells her that it is important and make sure that she will come alone. Lucy notices that he is blushing, and as he left, there is steam coming off Lucy's head.[23]
Back at her home, Lucy is even more concerned with Natsu's "definite" confession of love. She plans to turn him down, but states that they are teammates after all. Yet, her actions, such as searching for the perfect underwear, and asking Cancer to make her look better, but punches him through the sky realizing she is acting stupidly.[24]
Natsu Talking about the Treasure
Walking towards the park, Lucy keeps on telling herself to get a hold of herself and that things will be alright. Natsu's greeting, however, caused her to lose her calm condition again. Lucy nervously wonders what will she do because she doesn't really know how to reject people. Natsu, however, begins digging with a shovel and tells Lucy that she's late. He then tells her to summon Virgo. Lucy is confused by this. Natsu continues by saying that the ground is really hard and believes that Virgo could break it. Lucy asks about the important thing was that he wanted to say. Natsu, after making sure that no one is looking, tells her that there is an important treasure hidden in that ground. The treasure is apparently an album of some of the most embarrassing photos of Fairy Tail Members, and Makarov had it buried away ages ago. Lucy then asks about the rumors of Natsu having a crush on someone and keeps telling that he wants to see her. He replies that he didn't like or hate Virgo, but just needs her. Upon hearing that, Lucy screams and slaps Natsu in the face. As Natsu wonders what is going on, Lucy calls herself the biggest moron in the world.[25]
Fairy Academy: Yankee-kun and Yankee-chan[]
Lucy's Reaction to Natsu's Prank
Lucy just transferred to Fairy Academy from a really stuck-up school for girls, and is happy to get away from the strictness of that school. As she enters her classroom, she triggers Natsu's water bucket prank. Natsu and Lucy begin to bicker about the prank, with Natsu saying that it was for Gray. Suddenly, Gray arrives and tells them that he would not be fooled by a prank like that and sits down on his chair only to find out that it was heated up by Natsu. As the two start to fight, class president Erza tells everyone to take their seats as the class is about to start.[26]
As Lucy is getting ready to go home, she meets class president Erza who asks her if she would want to walk home together. Erza reveals to Lucy that she was asked out on a date by Siegrain of the elite Era High School and she wants Lucy's help to find something to wear.[27]
After finishing their shopping, Erza and Lucy meet students from the Courage Academy. Erza and Lucy try to leave but Gajeel grabs Lucy. Erza tells him to let go of Lucy, and takes out an iron pipe then starts fighting with the Courage Academy students. Suddenly, Natsu and Gray arrive and help Erza defeat the Courage Academy students with their Fire Bombs and Remodeled Ice Shaver. As the fight was about to be finished, Siegrain sees Erza fighting and comments that she is a demon, cancelling their date.[28]
The Group Singing in the Karaoke
Lucy cheers up a depressed Erza. Erza then decides that they should go for karaoke. Lucy thinks that in Fairy Academy, no day is boring as long as she is with the Yankee-boys, Yankee-girls and the cat, and she comes to love the school before falling victim to Natsu's water bucket prank again the next day.[29]

Lucy Explains to Natsu about Employment
Hana Adachi, together with her friends Daichi Shinagawa, Rinka Himeji, Seiya Chiba and Gaku Izumi arrive at Fairy Tail wanting to get their first Jobs. Adachi hastily walks in to find the director while her friends reluctantly follow. However, Makarov tells her that it is not a company and she sees Natsu, Lucy, Gray and Happy who explain to them that it is a guild of Magicians, much to their surprise except for Adachi who wants to join even more. Natsu, Happy and Adachi seem to be getting along much to Lucy and Shinagawa's dismay.[30]
They then notice each other and Shinagawa is instantly attracted to Lucy's body. Natsu then asks him if he can do Magic, and demonstrates his Magic by setting his whole body on fire. Adachi then makes Doves fly out of her bag much to Natsu's delight. She then grabs Happy and tries to put him in the bag, saying that she will make a cat appear next. She then gives everyone some sunglasses as a way of thanking them for taking care of them. After seeing Natsu in glasses, Lucy and Shinagawa think its primitive and somehow realize that they have things in common. Natsu tells Adachi that he likes them and invites them to join the guild, but Makarov refuses saying that people who can't use Magic can't join.[31]

After failing to impress the master, the group decides to head back to their school only to see Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Happy waiting for them. Upon questioning why they are there, Lucy says that they were interested in seeing their school.[32]

Natsu and Lucy Want to Learn Transformation Magic
It has been four months since Lucy joined Fairy Tail, and due to her missions becoming increasingly outrageous, she feels that she needs to step up her game, and decides to learn some new Magic. She goes to the guild and asks Mirajane for help. When Mirajane asks Lucy if she wants to learn Transformation Magic, Lucy says yes, and Natsu and Happy chime in, saying that it sounds like fun. Lucy, shocked at first, gets worried immediately and asks them why they need to learn transformation Magic anyway. Natsu replies saying that they want to learn so they can make their pranks more elaborate. Lucy is surprised at his honesty, and Mirajane informs them that even though transformation Magic is a deep and complex art, they can learn to use it at a basic level quite easily.[33]
Natsu Hiding Behind Lucy After Mirajane's Scare
Mirajane begins by doing a basic level transformation into Erza, in which the clothes don't change. Then she transforms her clothes into Erza's armor, saying clothes transformation is at intermediate level. Lucy, Natsu, and Happy are in awe and Happy says that Mirajane looks like the real thing. She then smiles and scares Natsu by doing an Erza expression, glaring at him and saying he better not be picking fights with Gray. While Natsu cowers white and out of breath behind Lucy, she happily says that even the voice is perfect, to which Mirajane explains that getting into character of transformations is a very important aspect.[34]
Mirajane Tells Natsu and Lucy to Get a Better Look of Each Other
Mirajane says that all this will be hard for the three of them, so she tells them to start with the basics. She then tells Natsu and Lucy to transform into each other, after they have had a good look at each other and built up a proper image. While they are looking at each other, Natsu makes fun of Lucy saying he sees zits on her face, making her angry and yelling at him to shut up. He also starts staring at her while being quite close to her face, making Lucy blush and feel uncomfortable, so she asks him to get a bit back. Mirajane also explains to them that transformations are easier, and turn out better, if you transform into someone you know best.[35]
Natsu Makes Fun of Lucy's Failure
She then tells them to get ready, saying they should picture themselves as the other person, concentrate, build up Magic Power and release it into the pictured image. Both Natsu and Lucy yell the word 'transform' in excitement, however, neither of them is able to do so. While Natsu grins himself stupid, Lucy realizes that it isn't working and becomes disappointed when Mirajane tells her that it might be difficult for a Holder-Type Mage. Natsu laughs and makes fun of her again saying how lame that is, and she angrily tells him that he didn't manage to pull it off either. He disagrees, and says that he now knows what to do, builds up Magic and yells 'transform'. When the puff of smoke disperses, he is shown to have successfully transformed into Lucy, while wearing his own clothes. Happy is shocked and Mirajane proudly praises her student. Lucy yells at Natsu yet again with teary and shocked eyes saying he should cover up the front, and quickly grabs his vest to do so. While she does this, Natsu is feeling 'his' chest and is shocked at how soft it is, making Lucy angry and her yelling again telling him to not touch that.[36]
Lucy Questions if Natsu's Actions is Sexual Harassment
The real Lucy then laments to Mirajane that this is very embarrassing and is like sexual harassment, and when Mirajane wonders if it really is that bad and awkward since they are such good friends, Lucy insists that it absolutely is. Natsu on the other hand, is still examining himself.[37]
After the whole commotion in the guild, Lucy is now completely down in the dumps as she admits out loud that having people mess around with your body is a really weird feeling, Happy agrees with his "Aye", and Natsu is sitting, completely absorbed with still being in wonder of his new body, unaware of what the situation has developed into.[38]
Natsu and the Dragon Egg[]
While helping Mirajane organize the things inside the guild's archive, Lucy accidentally falls off a ladder, causing multiple objects to fall as well. As she gets up, Lucy discovers a picture. The picture features younger versions of most of the members of Fairy Tail, including Natsu who is riding a blue Dragon. Mirajane takes a look at it and begins to tell Lucy about the picture which was taken six years prior to Lucy joining the guild.[39]

Lucy Jumping Out of Natsu's Attraction
Makarov informs Lucy that he will be opening Fairy Tail's pool to the public and tells her that he is making everyone prepare attractions. He then asks her to try out all the attractions, which she does reluctantly. Makarov shows Lucy Natsu's attraction, Salamander's Fountain. Lucy does not want to try it but Makarov pushed her into the boiling hot water.[40] After Lucy has visited all the attractions, Natsu heads to where she is, asking if she wants to have another go on his attraction which Lucy immediately declines.[41]
The Day of the Fateful Encounter[]
Note: Due to the conflict of the time in this story and in the main story, this omake will be considered as Lucy's dream.
Lucy Apologizes for Her Lateness
Lucy is seen thinking about the day she had when Natsu and Happy arrive. The two want Lucy to come with them since they have a job. Lucy, who was asked by the guy she met earlier the day for dinner, tells the two that she has an appointment and the two leave, disappointed. Mirajane tells Lucy that the two were going to surprise her because today was her birthday. But Lucy says that it wasn't her birthday. When 9 o'clock came, Natsu and Happy are sitting on the train thinking that Lucy wouldn't arrive. Suddenly, Lucy arrives and tells the two that the job is more important than her appointment, she also tells them that it is not her birthday. Natsu, however, tells her that it has been exactly one year since she joined the guild. Lucy almost cries upon hearing this and thinks that her fateful encounter is exactly one year ago when she met Natsu and Happy.[42]

Lucy Tells Natsu and Happy She Can't Go to the Festival
Everyone in the guild is participating in the Hanami festival. Lucy, however, is not among them because she caught a cold. As Natsu and Happy leave her to rest, they remember the day before. Lucy was very excited after hearing of the festival and frets about clothes and the beauty of the Rainbow Sakuras. Remembering this, the two feel sorry for Lucy.[43]
Later, Lucy is resting on her bed, thinking about the guild and the festival until she falls asleep. She later wakes up because of the noise outside and decides to investigate. She then sees a Rainbow Sakura on a boat floating on the river and admires the beauty of the tree.[44]
Lucy Thanks Natsu and Happy for What They Did
The next day, Lucy is feeling a lot better. Makarov then asks his guild members who uprooted the Sakura tree, saying that the mayor is extremely angry. Lucy notices Natsu and Happy's reactions being the guilty ones and she thanks them, although the two pretend that they do not know what she is talking about.[45]

Natsu and Happy Invade Lucy's Home Again
Coming back from grocery shopping, Lucy sees that, yet again, Natsu and Happy have come to her house without permission. Despite being used to this situation already, she still yells at them and tells them to leave. Natsu tells Lucy that he and Happy came to play with her, but Lucy does not pay too much attention and tells them that she is going to take a bath. This only causes Natsu and Happy to stare at her and tell her to hurry up and take her bath so that they can play with her, to which Lucy replies that she cannot take one if they are present. After the reassurance that Natsu will not peek, Lucy promises that she will play with them after her bath, but they must leave when night comes because she is planning to finish her novel.[46]
While waiting for Lucy to finish, Natsu and Happy begin searching her house for something entertaining. They then notice a book on her bookshelf that is different from the others. Just as the two were about to read the book, Happy's whisker accidentally get into Natsu's nostril, causing him to sneeze at the book. With the book covered with unwanted fluid, Happy tries to clean it up but accidentally rip the same page he was trying to clean. Angry at what he did, Natsu invokes his Magic without noticing, and lights the book on fire. Despite hastily putting the fire out, the book is ruined beyond repair. Thinking about what to do, Happy has an idea and asks Lucy if she could lend them a book. Lucy immediately refuses when she hears that they want to borrow the book Maya Forest, claiming that the book is extremely important. However, she changes her mind when Natsu and Happy lie and say that the book has an interesting title and they want to read it. The moment she agrees to lend them the book, the book disintegrated into ash.[47]

Realizing the trouble they created, Natsu and Happy run to all of the bookstores in Magnolia, hoping to find a copy of the book. After some continued searching, they end up back in the guild. Gray and Erza tell the two troublemakers to apologize to Lucy as soon as they can. But before they have the chance, Lucy shows up and lends Natsu and Happy another book titled Miltu Fable, a prequel to Maya Forest. Needless to say, Natsu cannot stop shaking in fear. Happy, who cannot stop shaking as well, asks why is the book so important to Lucy. Lucy hesitates for a moment before saying that the book is a memento from her mother, which causes the two troublemakers to break down into tears. When Lucy says that the last part will make them shed tears, Natsu and Happy comment that they are already crying, but Lucy seems to not hear their comment.[48]
Natsu and Happy Apologize to Lucy
Moments later, the troubled Natsu and Happy became more depressed when Gray comments on how happy Lucy was and Erza comments on how it was a memento from Lucy's late mother. Realizing that it will only hurt her even more if they try to hide it, Natsu and Happy immediately run to Lucy to apologize to her. But while they are apologizing, Lucy begins to cry and runs away, leaving two traumatized bodies in the street. Three days pass, and Gray notes that Lucy has not come to the guild for the same amount of time. While Erza worries over Lucy, she states she is more concerned about Natsu and Happy, both of whom had been frantically searching for an identical book in many different towns without rest. Happy then says that even if they do find the same book, he does not think that Lucy will forgive them, to which Natsu replies that he already knows that, but they still have to find the same book for Lucy's sake. Just then, Lucy shows up. With her head held low in front of Natsu and Happy, she begins to apologize. Everyone is confused by what she means, but Lucy continues to say that she lied. Opening her bag, she dumps out the content, and to Natsu's and Happy's surprise, it contains many copies of the burnt book. Happy asks why Lucy owns so many copies, to which Lucy replies that she tried to publish the book out of her own pocket. She claims that she was not lying about the book being a memento from her mom, however, as the content of the novel is from all the stories that her mom told her when she was young.[49]
Gray Tries to Cheer Up Natsu, Happy, and Lucy
Lucy then says that when she heard that Natsu and Happy were interested in the book, she was so happy that it must have gone over her head. Lucy wanted them to read the book and hoped that they would be really interested in what the book had to offer. She then states that burning the book did not really mean too much, but she was not able to handle the fact that they lied about being interested in the book. As Lucy continues to confess, she begins to cry and states that she was never angry at them, but rather embarrassed by her own imagination and pride. Natsu and Happy try to calm Lucy down by telling her to beat them up until she is satisfied. This only makes her cry even harder, which causes Natsu and Happy to cry too. Gray then enters and sets a bottle on the floor, calming them all down and telling them that both parties are at fault. Happy then asks what the drink is to which Gray states that the drink reflects what their team is like, which causes everyone to smile. With that said, Gray tells them to drink up and get ready to work again, to which everyone replies happily. [50]

Lucy's Prediction of What Natsu and Happy's Reaction Will Be
As Natsu and Happy finish a job, the two decide to find something to eat. Meanwhile, Lucy finally finds the location of Natsu and Happy's house. She decides that it was time to pay back Natsu and Happy for embarrassing her every time the two visit her at her house. Lucy imagines sitting on his couch, only to have him come home, shocked to find her there. As she enters the home though, she sees a house with overturned furniture, unwashed dishes, and most of the floor cluttered with junk.[51]
As Lucy examines the house, she sees the request of Kaby Melon with a note pinned saying "The quest I performed with Lucy for the first time". Lucy also sees the signature of the fake Salamander that tried to kidnap Lucy and other girls as slaves, rubble from the meeting place of the guild masters at Clover Town that Team Natsu accidentally destroyed when they were fighting Lullaby, a souvenir from Galuna Island where they took an unauthorized S-Class request, and Lucy's maid costume. Lucy is touched by Natsu's actions, and decided to clean up while waiting for them.[52]

However, after a long time, Lucy gets bored with waiting for Natsu and Happy and decides to go home, only to find them in her house asleep near her bed. Initially mad, she softens up when she finds Natsu is dreaming about her.[53]

Natsu, Lucy and Happy are in a distant town on a mission. However, Natsu separated from the group and Lucy and Happy are forced to look for him as they cannot complete the job without him.[54]
Lucy and Happy, looking at Elie, think that she may be the Mage that they're after. They then ask her if she likes playing in casinos and Elie says yes, much to their surprise. However, before Lucy and Happy can decide on what to do, an explosion is heard from the town and the group heads towards it. The explosion is then revealed to be from Natsu and Haru's battle as the two fight at the casino. However, their battle is interrupted when Erza Scarlet intervenes and attacks them for ruining her winning streak. Erza is then revealed to be the Mage that has been causing havoc in the casino.[55]

Later, Natsu's group and Haru's group head toward their own destination. Natsu and Haru are completely angered by one another and are convinced the other is a bad person.[56]

Gray is once again without his clothes and wanders through the guild hall, wondering out loud where he left them. Lucy tells him she doesn't have the faintest idea, seeing as he strips everywhere, and Wendy tells him to at least wear something, covering her eyes.[57]
Gray decides to make do with some other clothes for the time being. Lucy points out that those are Natsu's clothes and Gray realizes what that means. Soon enough, Natsu arrives wearing Gray's clothes. The two demand their clothes back from each other as Happy and Carla wonder how they managed to do this. Erza then arrives and seeing what is going on, decides to try swapping clothes as well. She swaps her armor for Lucy's and then Wendy's clothes (both of whom find her armor too heavy). Several others also decide to join in swapping clothes.[58]

Natsu, Lucy and Happy encounter Erza and when Natsu asks Erza about her unorthodox outfit, Erza retorts defensively, seemingly shocking the trio. However, they are more astonished by her appearance as opposed to her shouting, as Erza's facial and body features have been transformed abnormally, which obligates Happy to mention that Erza "turned real".[59]

The next day, after Erza takes out the shopkeeper for allowing her to wear such outfit, Natsu questions Erza's knowledge of the shopkeeper being a weapons dealer, who was secretly selling military weapons while Lucy congratulates her on taking out evildoers.[60]
The First Morning[]
Éclair and Momon are walking through a street in a busy town when they pass Natsu, Lucy and Happy, as Lucy is telling Natsu off for destroying the restaurant they were at. The two girls briefly look at one another before Lucy hurries after Natsu and Happy.[61]
Fairies' Penalty Game[]
Makarov crosses his arms as he reminds himself that since Fairy Tail Team A and B united during the Grand Magic Games tournament, it has been rather hazy as to which team came out on top in their private bet, and concludes that the time to settle which team gets to dominate the other for a whole day has arrived. He restates the rule: the losers have to do the bidding of the winners for an entire day. Full of confidence, Laxus stands in front of his team as Cana, Juvia and Mirajane cheer for him from the sidelines, with Gajeel instructing him not to lose. Erza, however, apologizes and claims victory for her team in advance, with Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Wendy and Elfman telling her to give it her all, afraid of what the monsters of Team B might force them to do should they lose. Stepping up and getting ready, Laxus and Erza settle the dispute with a game of rock-paper-scissors; Erza draws scissors whilst the former crushes her with rock.[62] Makarov announces Team Fairy Tail B as the official winners, and soon lets them have a go at picking who they want to punish for the rest of the day as Team A sulks over their defeat.[63]

As Makarov, dressed as Santa Claus, tries to enter the Guild's chimney, Natsu appears and approaches the "threat", demanding to know what it wants. After Natsu kicks him into the chimney, they start to battle within the dark chimney, with both Natsu and Makarov thinking the other threat is a thief. After Natsu casts his Fire Dragon's Roar, they both realize who the other is, but the spell combusts and burns both Natsu and Makarov, and also Lucy and Erza, whom were by the chimney within the Guild. The presents within Makarov's sack start to rain over the citizens of Magnolia, and Natsu apologizes to an angry Makarov for assuming that he was Sunder Claws.[64]

Asuka Wants to Go to the Park
Natsu competes in a shooting competition against Asuka where she uses her toy gun and he spits fire at paper targets. When Asuka wins, Natsu promises to do anything she wants for the rest of the day. At first, Asuka makes Natsu crawl through the guild on his hands and knees while she rides on his back, but then she decides that she wants to go to the park.[67]

There, Asuka and Natsu play around a bit more, with Lucy and Happy watching them. As Lucy wonders how she got dragged along, she watches Natsu pretend to be a villain as Asuka shoots him with her gun, though, after a little while, Asuka decides that she wants to do a job. At first the two Mages refuse, saying that she is too little and that they'd have to ask for her parents for permission first; when Asuka starts to cry, they eventually cave in and go along with Asuka to do some easy jobs.[68]

After helping people with odd jobs and doing some deliveries, the group make a small amount of money, and Asuka goes to a pawnshop and buys a memento that her parents once owned for 50,000 . When Lucy asks about it, Asuka says that she doesn't know why it was in a pawnshop, but that she intends to give it back to her parents, earning her praise and a cuddle from Lucy. Happy with Lucy's affection, Asuka asks if Lucy and Natsu kiss, stating that her parents do it all the time; Lucy replies that they aren't Mama and Papa. The young girl then orders Natsu to kiss Lucy, reminding him again that he promised to do anything she said for the day. Saying that it wouldn't mean the end of the world, Natsu actually tries to kiss Lucy, but, blushing heavily, Lucy pulls Happy between them, ending up with Natsu kissing Happy, which is enough to satisfy Asuka.[69]
The Bandits Stealing the Memento
A moment later, a band of kite-using thieves, calling themselves Orca Feather Flying Bandits, swoop in and steal the Lacrima memento out of Asuka's hands. Natsu wants Happy to carry him so that he can go after them, but the Exceed is still lying on the ground in shock over the kiss and bemoaning that his precious lips have been ruined. Saddened to see her precious item stolen, Asuka opens fire on the bandit who took the Lacrima with her toy gun and manages to hit every shot; however, as the gun is not real, the thieves take no damage, and continue their escape. Seeing Asuka burst into tears, Natsu pushes the young girl's hat down over her eyes and, while the girl shoots blindly, Natsu uses his Magic to shoot down the enemies. Despite it being him who hit them, he pretends that it was Asuka who shot them down, making Lucy see that he lost the competition back in the guild on purpose to make the girl happy, this in turn making Lucy appreciate Natsu's good side.[70]

A little later at the guild, Bisca and Alzack return from their job and Asuka presents them with the Lacrima. In reply to their shocked expressions, Natsu and Lucy explain that they took Asuka on a few easy jobs, and the baffled married couple then explain that the Lacrima was the reward they received upon completion of the first mission they took together. When the others wonder why they'd ever traded such a precious memento away, they only say that they had to and that Asuka would understand eventually, before leaving for home. On the way out of the guild, Asuka tells her parents that Natsu and Happy kissed, with the two both commenting that Natsu and Happy sure seem to get along well. While Lucy giggles about this, Natsu and Happy look sick.[71]

When Christmas rolls around in Magnolia, the members of Team Natsu, as well as Juvia, Gajeel, Levy, and Pantherlily all gather in Lucy's apartment to celebrate it, much to Lucy's chagrin. Erza then pressures her to join in, and start drinking, causing her to quickly get drunk. Lucy, in her drunken state asks that Natsu start purring, and when he refuses, she tackles him, and starts purring himself, much to Natsu's own chagrin. Erza then starts the "Guild Master Game", where whoever picks the right number gets to order the others in the room around, causing the girls (save Erza) to quickly sober up. During the game, Natsu is made to dance naked, much to Lucy's embarrassment, and Lucy gets hot wax dripped onto her back, much to Natsu's anger. Eventually the game ends when Erza is sent home, leaving the others beaten in her apartment.

In a prehistoric setting, Natsu and Happy are hunting a boar, when they come across Lucy bathing in a pool, and manage to capture her. They bring her back to the men's village, where Makarov reveals that she's a "woman", before being incapacitated when his "sausage" is aroused. Unfortunately, this is quickly followed up by the rest of Lucy's tribe, all women, arriving to save her. They easily defeat the men (who are also incapacitated by their "sausages"), though Natsu refuses to let Lucy go. As he holds onto her, he accidentally gropes her, consequentially "awakening" his own "sausage", which scares the women away. Natsu is left confused but satisfied, as Lucy sobs over being left behind. However, as she's crying, Natsu cuts her binds, and affectionately pats her on the head, saying that she's "his", and he'll take care of her now. Upon hearing this, Lucy blushes, and calms down.

Erza Telling Everyone about having a Free Day
Some of the Fairy Tail members decided to train on the beach for the Grand Magic Games. Even though purpose of coming there is to train for the Grand Magic Games, Erza tells everyone that they will spend the first day having some fun. After all the chaos, with Gray taking the initiative to start freezing the sea. Everyone is covered with ice and shivering, until Natsu uses his Fire Dragon's Wing Attack to break the ice. Pieces of ice start falling at the beach so Erza requips her Heaven's Wheel Armor to destroy the ice. Juvia, Jet, Droy, Natsu, Gray and even Wendy also join her and successfully destroy all the ice. Natsu and Gray claim it was fun while Lucy and Levy notice all the destruction.
In the evening, the group is seen staying in a luxurious inn, although Natsu is seen complaining about the environment as they had stayed in a luxury hotel last time thanks to Loke, who gave them the tickets. The boys then enter a room and are shocked to see that all the girls are drunk.

Natsu watches in shock as Lucy stares at him drunkenly at all fours, to which he nervously asks her what she wants. Lucy's vision gets blurry and as she stares at Natsu, happily declares that there are two Natsus, much to her happiness. Levy drunkenly negates her statement laughingly.

Some time later, still drunk, Lucy offers an egg roll to Natsu, which he refuses. Lucy pouts over it, and curls in self-pity, saying that Natsu doesn't like the egg roll she gave him. Natsu tries to comfort her, and Lucy then tells him to scratch her chin to make it up to her. He does so, and Lucy suddenly makes cat noises as he scratches. Natsu then gets frustrated (with Lucy still imitating a cat in the background), saying that they don't have time and should be thinking up of a strategy for the Games.

To his shock, Lucy suddenly climbs on his back, saying that she needs to go to the bathroom. Natsu indignantly tells her if she's serious, while Levy (and Mavis) loudly cheered Natsu to go. With no choice in the matter, Natsu grudgingly carries her to the bathroom, while Lucy comments that his back is really warm. Natsu replies that it would be the fires of his anger.
Everyone Teasing Lucy
Later, the girls are seen relaxing at hot springs, with Mavis who is still watching them. The girls then discuss the events of the evening and the group claims that Lucy and Natsu love each other. Levy teases Lucy with her piggyback ride with Natsu which Lucy doesn't remember. Levy probes further, which made Lucy blush in embarrassment. Levy and Juvia then further teases and interrogates her and Erza joins in, stating that she didn't know the two of them had that kind of relationship. Wendy then states that Natsu and Lucy really are close, to which Erza then agrees, saying that if you want to find Natsu, the fastest way would be to look at Lucy's apartment.

Lucy denies and then complains about how Natsu always barges into her room, which is the reason for her following him in revenge. She tells everyone a story about how she followed Natsu and Happy to their house. When she entered it, all she found out that it was a messy house. She then noticed a bunch of posters on the wall and realized that they're all the missions that they had done so far. She felt touched as Natsu and Happy were thinking of these precious memories. So Lucy decided to clean up before they came back to give them a surprise. Unfortunately, Natsu and Happy were not back by night so Lucy decided to go home, only to find out that Natsu and Happy were there sleeping while waiting for her.
Lucy Stops Erza from Inviting the Boys
Afterwards, the girls claim that it is a nice story but then continue to tease Lucy. Natsu, Jet, Gray and Droy are later seen peeping at the girls. Erza notices them too and throws several kunais at them. She then wonders if it is just her imagination but when Levy talks about it being the guys, Erza proposes that they should invite them to the hot springs. Lucy, however, refuses, claiming that it's embarrassing.[72]

Natsu and the Dragon Egg![]
Natsu and Happy take Lucy fishing, in order to help clear her head so she can continue writing her novel. She questions the motive for fishing as Natsu winds up catching a big fish. He then uses his flames to grill it and eat it, much to Happy's frustration. Happy demanded the fish to be eaten raw, and after Natsu tells him to catch his own fish, he runs away, heartbroken. Lucy tells Natsu that he should apologize to Happy and tells him to stop with the tough guy act, or else no girl will like him. Natsu gets angry and tells her to mind her own business and walks away.
Lucy then finds Mirajane in the Fairy Tail Archives and volunteers to help her organize things. Suddenly, Lucy, who was up on a ladder, accidentally falls causing some books to fall with her. While cleaning up her mess, she finds a picture of Fairy Tail from 6 years earlier. Lucy then asks Mirajane how Natsu and Happy met. So Mirajane begins to tell Lucy the story surrounding the birth of Happy.
Back in the present, Natsu brings a lot of big fish for Happy that causes them to make up. In the guild, Makarov comes and asks for Mirajane’s help and Lucy looks at the picture again, wondering who Lisanna is and what happened to her.[73]
The Day of Fated Meeting[]
Lucy with the problem of losing to Erza in winning the Miss Fairy Tail Contest, can't pay for her rent. She gets into a conversation with Cana, who learns and tells the whole guild that Lucy has never gone out with a guy before. Not all is bad though; Cana has seen in her cards that at that day, she would have a “fateful encounter”. What that means, exactly, she doesn't know.
Later, she learns from Mirajane, that a reporter from the Weekly Sorcerer Magazine will come to the guild. Lucy, in her imaginations, thinks that the reporter will fall in love with her and then marry her, and even pay for the interview. A bit further, Happy tells Natsu she is broke, and Natsu concludes that it because she ate something bad. Gray then comes and reminds him of the fact that she has to pay the rent.
Lucy leaves the guild, encountering the young writer from before: she agrees to take him on a tour of the city. The two apparently click, and in the evening, Lucy turns down an offer from Happy and Natsu for a job because she has a date with him. This apparently depresses them. Mirajane tells Lucy that they wanted her to come along because they thought that the job was perfect for her. Lucy seems sad. The guy waits for Lucy at the restaurant, and Natsu and Happy are on the train. She is shown walking, minutes before her date, into an unknown direction. Then it is revealed that Lucy got on the train with Natsu and Happy, much to their surprise.[74]
Special Request: Watch Out for the Guy You Like![]
At the guild, Lucy is complaining that she has nothing to do. Mirajane suggests she go on a job, but Natsu wants the day off and Lucy feels she has a responsibility towards him. Mirajane is pleased to hear this and tells Lucy they look like a couple. Lucy turns to see Natsu, who is dancing the Plue dance, along with Happy and Plue. Gray and Erza try to make him stop, but he keeps dancing, as Lucy rejects the idea of the couple completely.
The following day, Lucy relaxes at a table when Natsu comes and puts a hand over her shoulder. She is bothered by this and leaves, feeling very raw. Gray then comes, and orders him to stop slouching, but the two get into a fight. Meanwhile, the guys from the guild are speculating that Natsu likes someone. Lucy listens to their conversation, and now, more than ever thinks that the girl Natsu likes is her. She starts thinking of this relationship, but brushes off every idea. Lucy, who has never dated, feels odd when it comes to relationships. Natsu comes and tells her that he wants to meet her that evening at the old Tree. As he asks, he blushes, making Lucy blush as well, and then leaves in a hurry. Lucy soon leaves after him.
A little later, Lucy is seen taking a bath. She thinks of the date she has that night, but, even though she loves Natsu as a comrade, she decides to turn him down. Then, Lucy gets herself in a monologue, where she decides on and then criticizes every outfit choice she makes. She imagines a scene in which she and Natsu have babies, and the babies look like Happy. Back in reality, she scolds herself for thinking that.
In the evening, Lucy arrives at the old tree and meets with Natsu. She feels embarrassed up until the point when Natsu reveals that he called her because he needed to dig a hole to find an album of embarrassing photos of all the guild members, and the girl he was referring to was in fact Virgo because he needs her to dig up the album. Lucy is shocked by this revelation, and slaps him, as she calls herself a total idiot.[75]
Rainbow Sakura[]
In the Fairy Tail Guild, Makarov is lecturing his guild members about what it is to be a Fairy Tail Mage and to celebrate their work done for the past year, they will hold the long-awaited Hanami Party. However, Team Natsu along with Wendy and Carla are gone since they accompanied Wendy on a job.
Meanwhile, Team Natsu is walking down Mt. Hakobe, looking for an herb that can supposedly magnify the Magic Power of a Mage when eaten or drank as it is their job to collect a number of those. As they travel, Lucy and Wendy talk about the upcoming Hanami inside Horologium while the other three, Natsu, Gray and Erza, beat up the Vulcans that ambush them. While exploring, Natsu picks up the scent of the herbs and runs toward them, only to find a Blizzardvern there. It turns out that the Blizzardvern is a herbivore and its favorite food is the herb that they needed to collect. Natsu, Gray, and Erza then decide to draw its attention to them, leaving Lucy, Wendy, Happy and Carla to gather the herbs.
Natsu, Gray, and Erza attack and distract the Blizzardvern, and Lucy, Wendy, Happy, and Carla crawl towards the herbs. The Blizzardvern manages to reflect Natsu’s flame and Gray’s ice and even dodge Erza’s lightning. As they battle, Lucy gets her hands on some herbs when an avalanche suddenly starts. The avalanche sweeps them away, but Lucy is successfully able to hold on to the herbs.
The next day is the day of the Hanami. Lucy caught a cold from being buried in the avalanche and so she isn't able to attend. Natsu and Happy leaves Lucy’s house to let her rest. They feel bad for Lucy since she was really looking forward to the festival. Later, the festival starts. Everyone is having fun, drinking, eating, and laughing. Natsu explains Lucy's condition to the others. Happy suggests that Wendy should cast a healing spell on her, but it turns out Wendy already did and Lucy should be fine by tomorrow. After a while, the traditional Hanami Bingo tournament begins. Everyone except Natsu is participating and attempting to win. Happy tries to persuade Natsu to play Bingo, but he refuses.
During this time, Lucy lies in her bed at home, thinking about all the experiences she had since the day she met Natsu back at Hargeon Town. She wishes that she attended the Hanami. Before she falls asleep, she thanks Natsu and the entire guild for being there for her and concludes that she joined a really great guild. Later that night, Lucy wakes up due to a commotion outside. Lucy opens the window to check what is going on and is surprised to see a Rainbow Sakura tree floating on a boat at the river right in front of her house.
The next day, Natsu and Happy are happy to hear that Lucy’s cold is cured. Makarov is asking who was responsible for digging up the Rainbow Sakura tree, saying that the Mayor is really mad about it. Lucy realizes that it was Natsu and Happy who were responsible and thanks and hugs them. Meanwhile, the people of Magnolia look in wonder at the Rainbow Sakura tree that seemed to have been replanted.[76]
Welcome Back, Frosch[]
While the members of Fairy Tail enjoy a pool day in their guild's pool, Natsu grabs Lucy from behind and begins to perform a German suplex on her much the latter's disapproval.
Later, Frosch stumbles into a group of thugs, who decide to capture it and sell it for a large sum but accidentally catch Natsu and Lucy instead. Natsu, Lucy and Happy, who recognize the cat, came to its aid. After fighting back the frog traders, Lucy questions Natsu about all the property damage they have done to which he replies that they will just have it fixed with the reward of their next job. The Fairy Tail Mages then notice that the Exceed has disappeared.[77]
Mulan Rouge[]
At the Fairy Tail guild, as the other members go on with their everyday activities, Natsu, Happy and Lucy are amazed at the billiard table Gray and Juvia had brought to the guild from a generous client. Gray then starts playing, everyone remarks how good he is at it. Afterwards Natsu begins to play it poorly by destroying most of the room. As he hits the ball into the air, Erza comes into the room and catches it. The others ask her if she knows about billiard, to which she starts reminiscing stating "along time ago". And Erza tells her experience while playing billiards once, which also recounted her meeting with Mulan Rouge or Bisca Mulan.[78]
What a True Heart Weaves[]
Alzack and Bisca set out for their job, they leave Asuka in the hands of the guild, mainly Natsu and Happy to be her babysitters for the day. Asuka wishes to eat a cake, and as Erza, Wendy and Lily set out to bake a cake for her, Natsu and Asuka decide to have a shooting battle, Natsu shooting flames from his mouth versus Asuka and her toy gun to hit a target board. Natsu loses and has to obey Asuka with no questions for an entire day. As Lucy joins them during the day, Asuka realizes she wants to accept a job because she wants to buy something. Happy finds a few mundane jobs which are safe for Asuka to join Natsu and Lucy in, and to earn enough money to buy what she wanted: a snow globe Lacrima.
Natsu, Asuka, Happy and Lucy complete their jobs, and amass enough money to buy the item. Asuka then asks Lucy if she and Natsu are finally going to kiss each other, much to the older mages’ shock. Asuka says her parents kiss all the time and tells Natsu to give Lucy a “smooch right on the lips” but Lucy and Natsu refuse, saying Asuka is too young to ask for that. But when Asuka gets upset, Natsu decides to kiss Lucy, saying “Well, it’s not like it”ll kill us or anything.” Lucy then becomes nervous and afraid when Natsu actually plans to do it, and used Happy as a defence at the last second, far too embarrassed to just kiss Natsu on demand, saying that she is afraid of children for this reason. After almost forcing Lucy and Natsu to kiss, the globe is quickly stolen by sky bandits who want to turn a high profit for it. Asuka becomes extremely upset and fires shots towards the escaping bandits. Despite her impeccable aim, her shots do not injure the bandits, only annoying them and allowing them to taunt her. Natsu, realizing that he cannot catch up to them by air, pulls down Asuka's hat and asking her to pull off blind shots, but at the same time coating her toy bullets in his flames, hitting all four bandits and destroying their gliders.
While Natsu praises Asuka for her perfect aim, Lucy realizes Natsu may have talked big, but lost on purpose to Asuka in their shooting contest, showing that he has a big heart, much to her delight, calling him “a sweet guy”. Returning to the guild, Mirajane serves Asuka the cake baked by Wendy, Carla, Erza and Lily. As Asuka finds the cake delicious (Natsu and Lucy join the others sheepishly smiling at a brooding Erza who wishes she could have also had some) Alzack and Bisca return at the same time. Displaying the globe to her shocked parents, Natsu and Lucy explain that Asuka went on safe jobs to earn enough money to buy this item for them. It is revealed that the globe is the reward for the first job that Alzack and Bisca had gone on together. Questioning why such an important memento was in a pawn shop, they only say it is a long story.[79]
413 Days[]
Juvia starts off her day with a shower and seems to be extremely cheerful. As she exits her apartment, she meets Erza, Wendy and Carla. One being questioned about the reason for her joyfulness, she explains that it has been 413 days since she met Gray. Wendy and Carla fail to understand her, but Erza seems to be caught up in Juvia's excitement and suggests that Juvia give Gray a present to mark this occasion. Although Juvia is interested in the prospect, she has no idea what to give Gray, so she decides to ask the other girls in the dormitory for their opinion.
After asking the opinion of the other girls in the dormitory, she finally to the guild and ask the opinion of the people in the guild. Juvia get advice to make a cake eventually from Mira (indirectly the result of Lucy telling Natsu to eat more quietly).
Juvia hallucinates Natsu and Lucy being affectionate with each other.
When Juvia finishes knitting her scarf, at the guild, her first hallucination is Natsu and Lucy cuddling each other. In reality, Lucy just smiles at Natsu, whose been “cramming his face for like an hour”, with Natsu saying that he won’t stop until there’s anything else.
Transform![]
Lucy attempts to learn Transformation Magic from Mirajane, with Natsu and Happy joining by their desire to learn it as well. Natsu hides behind Lucy when Mira transforms into a full version of Erza as the Take Over Mage mimicked the scarlet-haired mage. Mira then teaches Natsu and Lucy how to transform and encourages them to take every detail into account.

After Natsu (following intense staring at Lucy’s face, much to her uneasiness) points out a pimple on Lucy’s face, Mirajane teasingly points out that while it is easy for friends to achieve the transformation into each other, it’s even easier when they are close. Natsu then moves closer to Lucy, who embarrassedly says that is not what Mira meant. Natsu and Happy then laughs at Lucy’s failure. Lucy then says they couldn’t do it, only for Natsu and Happy to transform into Lucy. Lucy becomes extremely embarrassed when Natsu happily transforms into a version of Lucy with the front barely covered. Lucy screams that Natsu has to change his clothes too if he transforms into her. Lucy then becomes briefly upset with her inability to transform, before telling the transformed Natsu to stop.
Natsu then protects Lucy and Mirajane from an out-of-control transformed Macao. Natsu and Lucy then look annoyed at Macao and Wakaba. Natsu surmises this was the work of transformation, and Mirajane and Happy believed they were so stressed out at being overshadowed by everyone. Lucy then expresses embarrassed frustration at Natsu and Happy transforming into construction paper and a leaf respectively. Natsu and Lucy then express extreme horror and shock at Erza (who saved them as Fairy Woman) having her face turn inexplicably realistic.
Fairy Tail of the Dead Meeeeeen[]
Ichyia’s recent creation, the Handsome Perfume, causes a terrible plague throughout Magnolia, infecting everyone by transforming their faces into those of Ichyia. While helping Yajima with Magnolia’s branch of 8-Island, Lucy, Levy, Wendy, Juvia and Erza are approached by an infected Jet and Droy, who infect Levy in turn, and force Lucy, Levy and Juvia to flee, while Erza is infected by an already-turned Yajima.
Lucy gets separated from Wendy and Juvia since her bunny costume constricted her movements, forcing her to hide in a tunnel under a bridge. Lucy then expresses horror as the Connells become infected, breaking down into tears and despairing that she has “died and gone to hell”. She breaks down further and cries more in panic when she senses someone approaching her, saying “Sniff, Sniff” like the Ichyias, believing all of Fiore will be turned.
However, much to Lucy’s immense relief, the people who find her are Natsu and Happy. Natsu happily proclaims to Happy that he knew he could find Lucy’s scent. Lucy then sheds tears of joy, glad to see Natsu and Happy are not infected. They then hide in a warehouse. Natsu surmises that Lucy’s “crazy getup made it pretty hard to smell [her] though” and that she is lucky to have it. Natsu, Lucy and Happy are then forced to flee into the sewers when Happy inadvertently gives away their location.
After running into an infected Gajeel and Lily, Natsu observes that they do notice Lucy at all, with Happy saying her costume is the reason. Natsu and Happy then hide in the bunny suit. Unfortunately, after Gajeel and Lily leave, Lucy’s costume is torn apart from the extra stress it has to bear, leaving her completely naked off-screen, causing her to scream in sheer embarrassment.
Natsu then gives Lucy his overcoat to wear. Lucy pouts in annoyance about losing her “best hope for survival”, only for Natsu to retort that he and Happy did her a favour by “tearing up that sweat factory.”
Natsu then breaks them out of the sewers with Happy struggling to carry both Natsu and Lucy. Then, when Wendy lets Natsu and Lucy know that Romeo found a way to beat the Ichyias, Natsu asks Lucy to let him go, realising what Romeo meant. Lucy asks if it is something crazy and when he says yes, she tells him “Don’t make me regret this!”, with Natsu saying “this is me we’re talking about!”
Natsu then reaches the Fairy Tail guild hall to get the deodorising lacrima Erza gave him, and it successfully works on everyone in the guild when he first sprays Laxus. Lucy then expresses her joy at Natsu’s success as the clouds disperse in the sky. Lucy smiles with a light blush at Natsu later on, saying they wouldn’t be here without him, even more happy after Erza praises his inner beauty, much to Natsu’s mild annoyance.
Late at night, Natsu decides to take a bath at Lucy’s apartment, with Lucy asking why he needs her bath. Both are unaware that Happy has been infected too. (It is most likely Happy returned to normal afterwards).

Natsu Eats a Village[]
Team Natsu and Makarov Dreyar, under the keen leadership of Happy, are lost in the Clover Canyon while attempting to head back to Magnolia Town.
They continue exploring until they find a village. At first they are enthusiastic, because they think there might be food there. But, as they venture into the village, they discover that it is completely empty. The houses contain fresh food in them, but no inhabitants are around. This makes them suspicious of the surroundings, and Erza orders everyone to investigate and not touch the food no matter how tasty they look. First, though, she decides to send Natsu, Gray, Happy and Lucy to collect some mushrooms. They do so, and while at it, they eat some.
As a result, some mushrooms grow out of Gray’s and Natsu’s heads. The two guys with mushrooms on their heads laugh and then argue while Happy eats one too, causing a mushroom to grow out of his head as well. Lucy then watches as the mushrooms on their heads are actually getting bigger. From the outskirts of the Village, they hear muffled moaning sounds. Gray’s and Natsu’s mushrooms fall off, but Happy’s does not. They return to the village, and, when they walk in, the floor begins to shine. The houses start moving too, and Happy thinks they are waving at him. They climb up a higher cliff overlooking the village and observe the houses suddenly turn into monsters. Moments later, they find out that this is in a fact a long banned Magic called Alive, which is capable of turning inanimate object into living creatures. They also deduce that the seams they saw earlier are in fact a Magic Circle that triggered the activation of the monster. The village had been most likely a Dark Guild's village because of the amount of Magical Tools they possess (which Erza had found in a shed earlier) and their use of Forbidden Magic. However, they set these facts aside and while emphasizing on the fact that the monsters are alive, Natsu, Gray and Erza attack, believing they can eat it. Happy also duels with a small monster chair. Erza slices some of its parts, Natsu burns them and Gray freezes them, and then they all taste the monster. However, the monsters all taste very gross and however hungry they might be, the monsters are something they cannot eat. When the monsters reconstitute, the team continues their attacks. This time, Lucy summons Taurus and she fights as well. After some blows, an earthquake follows, and another Magic circle is activated. This time, they all precipitate into it.
Much later, they are seen still in one piece, walking and famished. They discovered that the monster was in fact a whole village full of people who were Taken Over by the monsters they created. Makarov had made the villagers promise to never create that dangerous Magic Circle again and that they should be thankful it has already been undone. However, when asked how it was undone, he told them that there's no need to sweat out the details. Erza suspects that it was Makarov who closed the circle and annulled the Take Over, but he won’t confirm this. As they continue their voyage, one phrase is heard: “We’re still hungry!” [80]
Changeling[]
Erza, Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy have all returned from the S-Class Request on Galuna Island and are greeted by Mirajane. Erza learns that Makarov is not there to punish the others for their actions. Natsu, Gray, and Happy are relieved while Lucy keeps wondering and worrying about the punishment everyone except her seems to know about. After Wakaba makes a comment that makes Natsu and Gray angry, they start fighting.
Later, Natsu notices a strange request on the request board. All they have to do is figure out the meaning of the ancient writing and they will earn 500,000 Jewel. Natsu recognizes the letters and reads it aloud. Suddenly a strange light engulfs him, Lucy, Erza, Gray, Happy, and Loke. After the light disappears, they all start acting strange and out of character. "Loke" runs out when he suddenly sees "Lucy". Erza (in Happy's body) later figures out what happened. They have switched minds and bodies. Natsu is now in Loke’s body while Loke is in Natsu’s body. Gray is in Lucy’s body while Lucy is in Gray’s body. Erza is in Happy’s body and Happy is in Erza’s body. Everyone is shocked and confused. Makarov arrives shortly after and tells them that it is a Changeling spell and they must figure out a way to reverse it within thirty minutes of when it was cast or else they'll stay like that forever.
They are informed by Makarov that Changeling also switches the people's Magic. Some of the switched Mages try to use the Magic of the body they're inhabiting, but they aren't successful. Levy, Jet, and Droy arrive and Levy offers to help undo the spell. They are happy and excited and believe that she can break the spell. As Jet and Droy cheer her on (they are later joined by Elfman), she tries to read up and discover a cure. With Levy having trouble, the group becomes convinced that they should prepare for the worst and that they'll be the crappiest team in Fairy Tail. After several false hopes, Levy thinks that she has finally found it and reads the spell backwards. A bright light shines throughout the guild. When the light fades, Lucy and Gray are back to normal, thanks to Levy.
However, the others are still the same. Even worse, other members of the guild have switched bodies. As everyone panics, Levy exclaims that these proportions are out of her league.[81]
Twenty-Four Hours Endurance Road Race[]
Everyone in Fairy Tail gets ready for the guild's annual 24-Hour Endurance race. Makarov describes the race's route. Fairy Tail members have to run to the mountain to get a Wyvern Scale and return to the South Gate Park within 24 hours. Anyone who gets last place will receive "the punishment".
On the ground, Natsu, Gray, Erza, Gajeel, and Jet stare at Happy, Wendy, and Carla in disbelief when the rest of Fairy Tail quickly crosses the finishing line along with Erza who quickly recovered. Lucy encourages everyone to hurry which Natsu replies that it is easy for her to say. Jet realizes that they only ones left gets back up and runs off. Natsu, Gray, and Gajeel suddenly grab onto Jet which ended them up crossing at the same time. For the punishment, they must dress up like girls and have an interview and a photo spread printed in the Weekly Sorcerer Magazine. Natsu, Gray, Gajeel, and Jet with a shocked expression, run off into the distance with Jason closely following them while Lucy, Erza, and Juvia watch them from the finishing line.[82]
The Labyrinth of White[]
Natsu, Lucy and Happy set out to Mount Hakobe to get a special type of ice called Hakobe Ice, which contains lots of medicinal properties. However, they tumble down the ravine after the ground around them collapses. When Happy attempts to fly Lucy back up, they both tumble down due to the strong blizzard. Natsu thinks their crash landing was fun and wants a turn, but Lucy and Happy angrily scream “This isn’t a game, Natsu! I nearly freakin’ died!” They eventually find a cave to seek shelter from the storm. A tired Lucy wonders how Natsu and Happy have so much energy to put up with things like this. Natsu and Lucy then express frustration at Happy not telling them about how people who fall into the Labyrinth cave never make it out alive (Levy revealed this to him beforehand).
Natsu, Lucy and Happy then press on, extremely tired and exhausted from wandering for ages (three days), seen by the dark circles under their eyes. Natsu and Lucy then sit back to back with Happy in between, extremely tired. Lucy then attempts to wake Natsu up to prevent him from sleeping and causing the fire to die out. Lucy then holds her hands close to Natsu’s flame before she attempts to doze off. The three of them have hallucinations from a serious lack of sleep. Eventually, they all wake up after a delirious Happy bites on Lucy’s head. Natsu then, initially out of annoyance of being woken up from Lucy screaming (she inadvertently stripped and went into the cold water while hallucinating), caused the hanging icicles to fall.
Lucy asks if they are alright, with Happy saying “I think I’m alive”. Natsu then says yes too and prepares to start another flame, only for an angry and embarrassed Lucy to first yell, “Don’t you make a single spark until I’ve gotten dressed!”, much to Natsu and Happy’s chagrin.
Eventually, they find the Hakobe Ice, but before they set out, they run into a giant monster that quickly attacks them. The three then set out quickly by leaping out the hole Lucy created with the Magic Pen (Lucy accidentally lands on Natsu, and apologises quickly). The three of them are unable to fight back due to a lack of strength and are forced to rush down the mountain on a piece of driftwood (with Lucy pleading a motion-sick Natsu to hold on). Lucy then quickly gives Natsu the Hakobe Ice for him to recover, allowing Natsu to defeat the monster. Natsu then quickly catches Lucy as she falls with Happy princess-style. Lucy happily smiles seeing Natsu beat the monster. However, the three become frustrated realising they have to go back and get the ice again, plummeting into the snow laughing nervously.

It’s Kemo-Kemo![]
On another request to get a Lizardman’s scales, Natsu, Lucy and Happy witness an egg fall out of the sky and hit Natsu in the face. Lucy then goes with Erza and Gray to Natsu and Happy’s house after 10 days of them not showing up to the guild. Gray is uncertain if they are taking care of it, but Lucy retorts that Natsu raised Happy and would thus have a knack for it. Lucy then expresses concern and shock when Natsu and Happy look completely downcast. When they notice the egg has been split in half, Gray thinks Natsu caught salmonella. Lucy then angrily scolds Gray, saying she didn’t bring him to be rude. Natsu then stops Erza from attacking Kemo-Kemo, with Lucy asking if Natsu is alright. Happy then explains the reason for not being at the guild for ten days.
Then, when a messenger from the Magic Council arrives at the Fairy Tail guild to announce a wizard exchange program, Natsu eagerly volunteers, with Lucy deciding to come along to ensure he is not “unsupervised”. They are accompanied by an enthusiastic Happy and Erza, who drags a reluctant Gray along. When they arrive at Blue Pegasus and dress in fancy clothes, Lucy lightly blushes at seeing Natsu in a suit. Lucy and Erza then attempt to help Natsu when some of the guests insult Kemo-Kemo. They then set out to Lamia Scale after Ichyia asks them to leave, much to Lucy’s dismay. Natsu then asks Lucy if he can help her decipher the calligraphy Jura found, only for Lucy and Happy to teasingly say “Go away”, much to Natsu’s chagrin.
Natsu, Lucy and Erza then become infuriated when Gray and Lyon’s argument over Juvia’s affections destroys the table they were working with, along with the calligraphy, causing the Fairy Tail mages to leave. While recalling its memories, Kemo-Kemo considers Natsu and Lucy as its family.
The Place You Came to[]
After the exchange program is cancelled due to a threat from a mysterious island emerging, the Fairy Tail mages, along with Wendy, Carla, Sting, Rogue and the Magic Council go to investigate the situation. Shortly after they arrive, a sea serpent attacks and chases Natsu, Lucy, Happy and Kemo-Kemo into a cave. When they are trapped in the cave, Natsu shields Lucy when the cavern rumbles from the Magic Council ships firing cannons to defeat the serpent. They then reach a room with the same ancient symbols seen on the calligraphy Jura had. Natsu protects Lucy from falling debris while she attempts to decipher the messages, telling her to hurry before the caverns collapse. After Natsu saves Lucy from a larger piece of rubble from falling, Natsu asks if Lucy is alright, with her replying yes.
Although the message is deciphered, the ruins continue to collapse, with Natsu moving to protect Lucy from the rubble. Kemo-Kemo is able to protect Natsu, Lucy and Happy from the rubble, along with the mysterious virus that affected the other mages. Lucy then helps comfort a despondent Natsu when he believes he failed to save Kemo-Kemo, who was forced to disappear with the island, believing Natsu helped the guardian find his purpose, even having “fun on the way”.

Fairy Tail: Priestess of the Phoenix[]
At the port of Negura, Team Natsu attempts to capture a bandit leader named Geese, who is able to narrowly escape. Lucy apologises for letting Geese escape, but Natsu puts a hand on her shoulder and happily assures her it’s not her fault and that the whole team is in the situation together. On the way back to Magnolia, though, Lucy takes off on her own, still guilty over her mistake, with Natsu and the others concerned. However, Erza confidently states Lucy is always one to bounce back, with the others then being content.
When Lucy, Eclair, and Momon were attacked by Chase, Lucy shouted Natsu's name as they ran away. Natsu heard her and immediately rushed to save them with Gray and Happy. Natsu and Gray take off Chase, with Natsu telling Happy to make sure Lucy is safe.
After Chase disappears, Natsu and Gray rush back to Lucy and the others. Lucy tells the boys someone is after Eclair, only to be met with the two looked stunned and blushing. Lucy then soon realised her towel had fallen off, before she screams in embarrassment before crouching down to cover herself. Natsu asks Gray if his stripping habit is contagious, with the Ice-Make Wizard praising it (in the English dub, Natsu nervously questions if Gray’s “freaky” stripping habit has ever been contagious before, with Gray timidly replying that he could “think of worse things”.) Lucy then calls the boys perverts and tells them to close their eyes, throwing pebbles at them, but to no avail.
While travelling through the Boundary Forest, after Lucy summons Aquarius to narrowly escape a giant monster, Natsu shows up and asks Lucy if she is alright, with the Celestial Mage nervously saying “barely” after Aquarius scolds her for summoning her from a mud puddle. Natsu then smiles with the others as Lucy comforts a grieving Eclair, who learns of her father’s death.
During the attack on the guildhall by the Carbuncle guild, Natsu was blasted back by Dyst with injury. At this moment, Lucy called his name in worry.
Natsu and Lucy then save Eclair after Momon’s sacrifice, before Natsu and Happy soar off to confront Dyst and stop the revived Phoenix. Natsu then overwhelms and defeats Dyst after vowing to make him pay for hurting Lucy.
Makarov then arrives with the Arrow of Evil’s Destruction, having taken it from the Magic Council, to destroy the Phoenix Stone. Erza and Natsu then destroy the stone, but Eclair dies due to drinking the phoenix’s blood, much to Lucy’s sorrow. Before Eclair’s spirit departs with Momon’s, she thanks Natsu and tells the Fire Dragon Slayer that Lucy needs him now and that he should help heal her heart.
As everyone stands in silence at the loss of Eclair, Lucy is found weeping, overtaken by sadness, and asks Natsu if magic is good or evil. Natsu shakes his head. Lucy then states that she wanted magic that could stop her tears as Natsu catches her mid-fall. Natsu says to her that in the end, Eclair was smiling, and says that everything will be fine and that everyone else is there for her, reiterating that they’re all in this together. Then, he wraps his arms around her and pulls her into a hug while she sobs.
Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry[]
Team Natsu were out on a job when Natsu sees Happy being chased by a dog. Natsu then scares the dog away by glaring at it, causing Lucy to whack him with a magazine. Lucy then sees that Happy is afraid of dogs and says Plue is a dog too. Natsu then gives a strong stare at Lucy, with the latter nervously stating that he’s getting too close. Natsu asks what does he look like to Lucy, who replied that he looks like the same Natsu she has always known. When Wendy shows up and is about to say hello she immediately looked away, believing the two are having a moment and feels sorry for interrupting, causing Lucy to be flustered, saying that Wendy is having the wrong idea.
Natsu then saves Lucy from Zash Caine after the group retrieves the Dragon Cry staff, before they are surrounded by the mind-controlled people. Natsu then carries Lucy in his arms and flies upwards, with Lucy holding on to him tightly.
Zash then ambushes the group with the Three Stars, with Natsu even being brainwashed briefly by the traitor, and then almost attacking Lucy, much to her horror, before Gray quickly intercepts. After Zash kidnaps Lucy, Natsu then expresses guilt and anger for what happened and swears to set things right, vowing to find her.
Natsu then saves Lucy in time before Zash can draw blood from her, immediately attacking the traitor. Natsu asks if Lucy is alright, with Lucy smiling in agreement. Zash questioned how Natsu tracked him down, with the Fire Dragon Slayer saying it was due to his senses and ability to track all his friends’ scent, holding a slightly unnerved Lucy in his arms.
Late at night, Natsu asks if Lucy if she is having trouble sleeping, with Lucy saying she is on guard duty, and expresses sadness at the island being possibly destroyed when they complete the mission. Lucy then reluctantly climbs up the trees, following Natsu, who shows her the stars of Stella. Natsu says to an awestruck Lucy that she wanted to see these stars and she happily agrees when Natsu says they should keep their chins up.
When Lucy heads off to save the other girls Zash had captured, Natsu asks if she will be fine, and the latter says she won’t be alone due to her Celestial Spirits, with Natsu smiling in agreement.
Later on, after Animus transforms into his Dragon form, he impales Natsu on his horns, much to Lucy and Happy’s horror. Lucy repeatedly begs Natsu to wake up, bursting into tears. One of Lucy’s tears falls into Natsu’s mouth, and Natsu has recollections of all his friends in the guild, before a memory of Lucy running along Magnolia’s streets with him. Lucy and Happy are immensely overjoyed when Natsu wakes up.
The Fire Dragon Slayer then moves to confront Animus, undergoing a partial Dragon transformation. After dismissing Animus’ proclamation of the Dragon Slayer being E.N.D., the Destroyer of All, Natsu emerges victorious. Natsu then appears deeply shaken by his transformation as the sun rises, asking Lucy once again what he looks like to her. Lucy then reiterated that Natsu is the same person she has always known, before catching him mid-fall.
Lucy then rests Natsu’s head in her lap for a short time, before he gets up, with the two and Happy listening to Sonya’s final words for them, who laments how she and Animus should have cared for each other, like the trio. Natsu happily embraces Lucy and Happy, saying they have lots of love like a family, with the two agreeing.

Levy McGarden - In Fairies' Training Camp, the girls are seen relaxing at hot springs, Levy teases Lucy with her piggyback ride with Natsu which Lucy doesn't remember. Levy probes further, which made Lucy blush in embarrassment.
Gajeel Redfox - the year after the war, during Lucy’s celebration party, Natsu noticed Lucy and Anna both have the similar scents and says it’s why he feels relaxed around Lucy. Gajeel indirectly hints it’s due to Natsu’s previous crush on Anna, which would extend to Lucy.
Mirajane Strauss - Mirajane notices that they get along really well as if they are a "couple in love", which Lucy immediately denies. Mirajane further teases Lucy saying that Natsu may actually have feelings for Lucy. Lucy glances towards Natsu and sees a scene where Natsu and Happy are pretending to be Ninjas. Lucy then tells Mirajane that even if he's interested, she still won't accept him. Yet, Mirajane replies that they could be a really nice couple. As Lucy walks home, she denies the fact and wishes that Mirajane didn't say weird things like that.[83]
Lisanna Strauss - before the battle against Hades on Tenrou Island, Lisanna tells Lucy to stay close to Natsu, saying he is stronger when surrounded by the people that he loves, which Lucy agrees on.
Evergreenand Brandish - As when Lucy explains what she feels towards Natsu, Evergreen points out to Brandish that Lucy is in love with Natsu, which Brandish bluntly says that seems so, causing Lucy to be embarrassed.[84]
Porlyuscia - when Natsu falls fatally comatose during the war with Alvarez, the medicinal advisor suggests to Lucy to provide him with body heat to raise his temperature, stating the only way to save him is to believe in the miracles of human warmth and emotion. Porlyuscia then tells Natsu of Lucy’s intentions to save him and to thank her.
Happy - Happy often brings up the fact the two like each other. By teasing either one of them, mostly Lucy, that he or she like the latter. He even says, during the clash with the Reborn Oracion Seis, that as long as Natsu is doing alright, Lucy will be fine as well.
Kain Hikaru - during Natsu and Lucy’s clash with the member of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, when Kain manipulates Lucy with the Mr. Cursey doll, Natsu is forced to restrain Lucy from wildly attacking. Kain angrily tells them not to be affectionate and lovey-dovey with each other on the battlefield, to which the Fairy Tail mages vehemently deny.
Virgo - after Natsu thanks Lucy for saving him from Angel, Virgo teasingly states that Lucy loves Natsu in a manner similar to Happy. Virgo also claims that Lucy is close enough to Natsu to “play with him in the nude” and shared a naked embrace with him, with Lucy blushing in embarrassment and denying Virgo’s claim.
Horologium - after he intervenes and saves Lucy, Happy and an unconscious Natsu from Jacob’s Spatial magic, Horologium remarks that Lucy should still remember she “is a proper lady” after she, blushing with embarrassment, says to the unconscious Natsu “that tickles”.
Asuka Connell - Asuka orders Natsu to kiss Lucy which causes Lucy to get embarrassed. Following through with the order, Natsu tries to kiss her, only until Lucy blocked the kiss by pulling Happy between them, ending up with Natsu kissing Happy.
Zeref Dragneel - During his confrontation with Gray, he reveals he knows of Lucy and states her cheerful nature and positive thinking has had a great impact on Natsu's growth.
Mavis Vermillion - when witnessing Natsu and Lucy fighting against Jacob and outsmarting the assassin, Mavis discovers a way to defeat Zeref, which is revealed to use her own love for the Black Wizard against him. Mavis even admits to Cana that she got her idea from Natsu and Lucy’s battle with the Shield of Spriggan.
Gray Fullbuster - after Lucy rewrites the Book of E.N.D., Gray uses his Demon Slayer magic to remove the darkness in her body, with him saying, in the anime, that Lucy took the risk of altering the demonic scripture, because she had to. Earlier, when fighting against the Oracion Seis, Gray questions why Natsu and Lucy are wearing matching outfits (gifted by Virgo), Lucy tells him not to ask in embarrassment.
Wendy Marvell - Dragon Cry, Wendy’s saying hi to Natsu and Lucy until she see’s the two getting to close to each other. Believing that they’re having a moment, Wendy looked away, causing Lucy to be flustered saying that Wendy’s getting the wrong idea. In the Fairies’ Training Camp OVA, Wendy says that Natsu and Lucy are very close to each other.
Erza Scarlet - in the Fairies’ Training Camp OVA, Erza points out that if anyone wants to find Natsu, the quickest way to do so is to go to Lucy’s apartment.
Cana Alberona and Juvia Lockser - during the 100 Years Quest, Cana tells Lucy about Touka's interest in Natsu and then warns her that he could be taken. Juvia then adds in that Touka is Lucy's love rival. This situation causes Lucy to be slightly embarrassed. Prior to this, while relaxing in the guild’s hot springs, Cana teases Lucy about being felt up by Natsu, having learnt the truth from Happy, much to Lucy’s embarrassment and anger. Moreover, at Rainfall Village, a fever-stricken Juvia sarcastically asks Lucy if she has to “flirt with [Natsu] in front of [everyone]”, after Lucy and Natsu have a small argument about Natsu leaving for a year after the war with Tartaros. Lucy immediately denies that she is flirting with Natsu.
Lucy Ashley - during the 100 Years Quest, when Team Natsu are taken to Edolas, they learn that Natsu and Lucy’s Edolas selves are married and have a daughter, Nasha, who Natsu takes a liking to very quickly. When Earth-Lucy asks how Edo-Lucy and Edo-Natsu got together, Edo-Lucy reveals Edo-Natsu made the first move while they were alone in a car. Earth-Lucy then vehemently denies, while furiously blushing, that the same goes for her and Earth-Natsu. However, Edo-Lucy states that she and Edo-Natsu are doing great, and believes their Earthland counterparts would do great as well, despite Earth-Lucy’s scepticism.
Aquarius - during the 100 Years Quest, Aquarius appears in Elentear to help Natsu against Lucy, who has been transformed into a yokai by Selene’s minion, Yoko. The Water Bearer relieves Natsu of a heavy burden in battling Lucy, and then helps Lucy remember Natsu.
Selene - when Aquarius asks the transformed Lucy if she has forgotten Natsu, the Moon Dragon God hysterically laughs about the situation coming to that point. Yoko, Hakune and Mimi also comment when Natsu is constricted by Lucy, saying that Natsu likes the feeling. The Moon Dragon God even states that if Lucy trusts Natsu, the Fairy Tail mages should leave the Labyrinth when Lucy says they should help Natsu against Dogramag, and then in the Diabolos public bath, realises, after the brief incident with Natsu and Lucy regarding her portal, that men, women, humans and dragons can all talk regardless of their differences.
Eclair - in her final moments, Eclair’s spirit asks Natsu to heal the grieving Lucy’s heart, saying that Lucy needs him.
Natsu, along with other members of the guild, often enters Lucy's apartment without her permission, much to her displeasure.
Natsu and Happy collect items to preserve the memories of their missions, including the request of their very first quest together with Lucy, and Lucy's maid outfit.[85]
Mirajane somehow has a spare copy of Lucy's house key and often lends it to Natsu and the others so that they can enter Lucy's house.[86]
From the Volume 16 Limited Edition: Sorcerer Interview, Natsu and Lucy claim that they both have a good relationship with one another.[87]
Mirajane came up with a theory that Natsu was hoping to see Lucy naked in the hot springs during their training for the Grand Magic Games. Lucy questions this theory which Mirajane replied that Natsu probably is tired of seeing her naked.[88]

Mashima was at New York City Comic Con 2017 and for a audience request drew what the daughter of Natsu and Lucy would look like, he drew her a 2nd time as a personal sketch for a fan. the following week, he drew her again in colored alongside the son of Gray and Juvia on his twitter.
. When Lucy asks about it, Asuka says that she doesn't know why it was in a pawnshop, but that she intends to give it back to her parents, earning her praise and a cuddle from Lucy. Happy with Lucy's affection, Asuka asks if Lucy and Natsu kiss, stating that her parents do it all the time; Lucy replies that they aren't Mama and Papa. The young girl then orders Natsu to kiss Lucy, reminding him again that he promised to do anything she said for the day. Saying that it wouldn't mean the end of the world, Natsu actually tries to kiss Lucy, but, blushing heavily, Lucy pulls Happy between them, ending up with Natsu kissing Happy, which is enough to satisfy Asuka.[69]
