Gruvia (グレジュビ Gurejubi) is a semi-canon pair between Fairy Tail Mages, Gray Fullbuster and Juvia Lockser.
About Gray and Juvia
Gray Fullbuster
Gray Fullbuster (グレイ・フルバスター Gurei Furubasutā) is a Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild, wherein he is a member of Team Natsu.
Gray's most prominent feature is his spiky black-colored hair. He has dark blue eyes, and his body is toned and muscular.
After the mission on Galuna Island, he gets a scar on his forehead above his left eye that is partially covered by his hair. He also has a cross-shaped scar on his lower abdomen received from using Seven Slice Dance: Blood Version on Tenrou Island. His member stamp is below his collarbone on his right pectoral muscle and is dark blue in color.
Unlike almost all other characters, Gray does not consistently wear the same type of clothes (that is, when he is wearing some), though he is often shown wearing some kind of white coat.
Still, his most consistent pieces of clothing are his necklace, which resembles a sword with a stone in it, a metal bracelet and a chain which is attached to the belt loops on the right side of his pants. After obtaining Ice Devil Slayer Magic from his father, he gains a tattoo symbolizing the magic on his right arm. Following his entry into the Avatar guild, he has seemingly erased his Fairy Tail mark, replacing it with Avatar's mark, but it turned out to be only an overlay on his black marks.
Gray has a laid-back personality, but will get serious when the time calls for it. He and Natsu have a friendly rivalry, and while they can often be seen fighting one another verbally or physically, the two are actually quite concerned about each other. Gray was quite obstinate and reckless when he was younger, but over time, he has attained a more cautious attitude towards life, and deals with problems carefully. He is very concerned about his comrades and is truly loyal towards his guild, but tends to trash talk every now and then. Also, he has a disturbing habit of unconsciously removing his clothes (including underwear) at inappropriate moments. Also, Gray is quite skilled in acting as an evil person, as shown in year X792, when he infiltrated Avatar on Erza's request, something that manages to prompt Briar to remark Gray's desire for "revenge" against E.N.D. has stained both his soul and skin.
Juvia Lockser
Juvia Lockser (ジュビア・ロクサー Jubia Rokusā) is a Mage of Fairy Tail, formerly being one of the five S-Class Mages of the Phantom Lord Guild.
Juvia is a young woman with blue hair, black eyes in the Manga and dark blue in the anime, pale skin and a curvaceous figure. She is first introduced with long hair, tightly curled at the base, wearing a navy blue coat, a fur shawl with a teru teru bōzu attached to it, as well as a Russian Cossack hat. Upon becoming a member of Fairy Tail, she cuts her long hair and begins wearing more revealing clothes. However, after hearing about Gray Surge's crush on her Edolas counterpart, Juvia then returns to her original appearance with the exception of the teru teru bōzu, instead wearing a Fairy Tail emblem. Juvia's Fairy Tail Guild Stamp is above her left thigh.
By the time of the Grand Magic Games, Juvia seems to have let her hair fall freely past her shoulders in a wavy style.
Juvia is first introduced portraying an emotionless face, seeming more secluded from everyone including members of the Phantom Lord Guild. After she joins Fairy Tail, she develops a happier demeanor. She is obsessed with Gray Fullbuster and when Meredy threatens him, Juvia loses her generally calm demeanor and enters a somewhat satanic-appearing state that frightens Meredy and even Erza. Juvia also seems to have a slight masochistic side; upon making a mistake, she asks Gray to spank her as punishment, saying it's her "hobby" while Gray says it isn't his. She's also very polite towards other, typically addressing others with honorifics, though she addresses Gray as "Gray-sama" only.
She cares deeply for Fairy Tail and its members. During the Battle of Fairy Tail Arc, Juvia is pitted against Cana Alberona, a fellow guild member, but instead chooses to knock out herself by attacking a thunder Lacrima, though she knew the effects attacking it would result in. Upon entering Fairy Tail, she wasn't feared or hated for her past relationship with Phantom and she maintains a good relationship with the other members. She is also shy about her body, as she didn't like to shower with other girls. Juvia tends to refer to herself in third person, and she used to say "drip, drip, drop" after her sentences due to the rain she used to bring with her. Juvia has a wild imagination in which she tends to fabricate relationships and love rivals, always believing everyone around her is also in love with Gray and is therefore her enemy.
History
Gray's History
Ur Training a Young Gray
Gray was from a village up in the North, but the entire village was destroyed by the Demon Deliora. Gray's parents were killed in the incident as well. Lyon, along with Ur, a powerful ice Mage who Jellal claimed could have been one of the Ten Wizard Saints, came investigating Deliora's destruction, and found Gray alive among the ruins. Ur took Gray in as her second student and taught him and Lyon Ice-Make Magic. Gray accepted the training in order to eventually avenge his deceased parents by killing Deliora using Ur's unorthodox methods. Gray also obtained the unusual habit of stripping unconsciously from Ur's training methods.
Gray Heads Out to Challenge Deliora
When Gray heard of Deliora's current location, he decided to challenge it, ignoring Ur and Lyon's warnings. Gray collapsed from battling Deliora and woke up to see Ur battling it. Ur told him to take Lyon and run. Gray carried Lyon and saw that Ur had lost her leg and replaced it with ice. Suddenly, Lyon woke up and tried to cast Iced Shell, but Ur stopped him by freezing him. She explained to Gray that Iced Shell was the only thing that would beat Deliora, and was surprised to know that Lyon had tried to do what she planned. She then used Iced Shell which caused her body to be destroyed. Before turning into ice, she made Gray promise to tell Lyon that she died and told him to step into the future, since she would seal his darkness. The next day, Lyon woke up and discovered Deliora encased in ice and Ur's sacrifice. He berated Gray for Ur's death and the two apprentices parted ways.
Following Ur's advice to find strong wizards in the west, Gray arrived at Fairy Tail and asked the master for a way to reverse the effects of the Iced Shell. Makarov, however, told him that the only method that could possibly reverse it would kill Ur in the process as she lived on as the ice encasing Deliora.
Gray was present when Erza entered the guild, having been told by Cana that that day would be lucky for him, though he regarded it as one of the worst days of his life, having lost his wallet and fallen in ditches. Later, when Cana pointed out Erza's loner behavior and how she ignored Cana's own conversation attempts, Gray went over to talk to her, giving the excuse that he didn't like it when new members of the guild didn't introduce themselves to 'Gray the Great', but ended up arguing with her. He would constantly challenge Erza to battles after that, but was defeated each time. That is, until the day he found her crying by the riverside. He became flustered and refused to battle her. Upon questioning her about why she was always alone, she replied that she preferred being alone, but Gray retorted that she wouldn't be crying if that was true.
Gray was also present to welcome Mirajane, Elfman, and Lisanna into the guild, happily speaking with the latter two siblings who were able to fit in more readily than their older sister.
Gray was present when Natsu brought the egg from which Happy would later hatch to the guild. He suggested that they all eat it together, but was astonished when Natsu claimed the egg to be a dragon's egg as the marks on it were akin to those made by a dragon's claw. He watched on skeptically as Lisanna and Natsu decided to hatch the egg together. The next day, he was as surprised as everybody else when Natsu stormed into the guild, raging about the egg's mysterious disappearance. Gray got angry when Natsu went around accusing people randomly of having stolen the egg. But everybody calmed down when Elfman returned, revealing that he had taken the egg to help warm it up in the night. Soon afterwards, the egg hatched to reveal a winged, blue cat. After the event, everybody returned to their usual jovial mood.
Juvia's History
Young Juvia
Juvia was born in the year X767, and spent her childhood shunned by the other children for constantly making it rain around her. She took up making teru teru bozu dolls in an attempt to make it stop raining, but it only served to make the other children tease her even more.
Sometime during her childhood years, Juvia went off to visit her uncle with a present in hand in the Western Region of Fiore. However, when she was sitting on a bench, she noticed that her present got stolen. Wondering what she should do, Juvia sat close to a fountain to think, until the sadness overtook her and it started raining. Unbeknownst to her, her rain destroyed a young Gray Fullbuster's bag of gold cotton, which was worth a fortune. She then decided to keep looking for the things she lost. When Gray managed to defeat the thief and Juvia got back her possessions, feeling overjoyed, the rain began to cease, and she exclaimed that she could go meet her uncle again now. Juvia then departed on a train herself, and the girl's face brightened up when she saw that the sky had finally cleared up.
Jose Accepting Juvia into the Phantom Lord Guild
As she grew older, she would overhear other people commenting on the gloominess of the rain around her, making her feel increasingly depressed. At one point in her life she was in a relationship with Bora, but he broke up with her because he couldn't stand the rain. Eventually, she was accepted into the Phantom Lord Guild, noting that it was the first time anyone had accepted her, and formed a quarter of the guild's elite Mage team: Element 4.
Relationship
Gray Catching Juvia
Gray and Juvia share a close relationship. It was love at first sight for Juvia, but for Gray it is still a mystery. He can be uncaring to the Water Mage's advances, but on the other hand, deeply cares for her as a comrade. Usually Juvia will look for ways to catch Gray's attention, although her attempts usually end up in disaster or comically ignored by him. She will also give her 'love rivals' her signature glare whenever she thinks they get too close to Gray, although this is used for comedy. Despite all these possibilities, Juvia is still persistent and has been persistent since her dream of Gray.
Juvia's love for Gray is genuine, as shown when Meredy was able to use Maguilty Sense on her and Gray, a spell that can only work which depends on the strong bond between two people. Erza mentions that this is Juvia's true power (her strong feelings for her love).
Gray's side of things is unclear. He gets weirded out and annoyed by some things that Juvia does, and can be oddly cold to her. However, he is also kind to her at times, and even holds her hand saying words such as "I'm here with you". He also dies for her without hesitation. Gray sacrifices his life for Juvia during the dragon invasion, and is only alive due to Ultear's Arc of Time. He does have a strong reaction when Lyon Vastia declares his love for Juvia. When Lyon attempts to take Juvia out, Gray strongly reacts against it, stating that Lyon shouldn't take his fellow guild member. Lyon then proposes that if Lamia Scale wins they will have Juvia, and if Fairy Tail wins, they'll return her back. Gray incredulously points out to Lyon that she is Fairy Tail's and Juvia reacts by saying that Gray may pick either her or Lyon. Gray then states that Juvia had no idea what is going on, indicating that Gray really knows what he and Lyon are fighting for.
Gray and Juvia have done a Unison Raid, holding hands, to attack Lyon and Chelia Blendy at the fifth day of Grand Magic Games. This action makes Lyon jealous, and Chelia unconciously said that they are wonderful/romantic, leaving them full of openings. Gray and Juvia win due to their teamwork, in which Gray constantly stresses throughout the fight that they (Gray and Juvia) can "work together better than them (Lyon and Chelia). Once they win, they never take their eyes off of each other, and give genuine smiles. Even after meeting up with the rest of their team, Juvia is helping Gray walk with his arm over her shoulder. They remain close. In the chapter that Gray and Juvia do their Unison Raid against Lyon and Chelia, the text describes it as quote "Gray and Juvia's synchronized love attack".
Gray Holding on Juvia
There have been hints of Gray starting to develop feelings for Juvia, but he acts tsundere. Examples include him blushing when Erza mentions Juvia's feelings to Gray to make things clear with her, blushing and saying he wouldn't go on the love slide with Juvia but is at the top of the slide in the end anyway, agreeing to have dinner with her alone since he's hungry, eating her homemade bread with his/her face on it; reason being that she went through the trouble of making it, and holding her hand for much longer than needed. Gray asks Juvia when she would let go of his hand while blushing, instead of him actually doing it. They are drawn frequently together, almost always by each other in group shots and major events. Another note on Gray's part is when they were battling Lyon and Chelia, Gray is the one who initiates comforting Juvia by putting his hand on her shoulder, which leads them to hold hands. After the Grand Magic Games, Lyon actually gives up on Juvia knowing his feelings would forever be unrequited. Juvia is extremely dedicated. Even when Gray rejects her advances, she never gives up.
Later on in the Tartarus arc, Gray's father assumes that Juvia is Gray's woman and entrusts his son to her. In the final part of the arc, Juvia confesses to Gray that she is the one who defeated the necromancer controlling his father, thus killing him. But instead of getting angry, Gray cries and hugs Juvia, thanking her and saying he's sorry. Following this, in the Avatar arc, Gray and Juvia have their own house and live together for 6 months. It's shown that after living together, the two picked up some of each other's habits. For example, Juvia now strips in battle and Gray makes adorable faces at cute things.
In the Alvarez Empire Arc, Gray tells Juvia he is grateful to have her, that she's always by his side, and he will give her an answer once the battle is over. This is presumed to be about her feelings for him and their relationship.
Synopsis
Phantom Lord Arc
The Phantom Lord guild proclaims war on Fairy Tail by destroying their guildhall and hurting their Shadow Gear team.[1][2] After the attack, Jose Porla tasks Juvia Lockser and Sol with capturing Lucy Heartfilia, who they find as she leaves the infirmary where the members of Shadow Gear are being treated. Juvia initially does not recognize Lucy and walks past her after a brief meeting, prompting Sol to identify their target for her. Lucy prepares to fight the two members of the guild that hurt her friends, but Juvia captures her with her Water Lock spell. With their mission complete, Juvia and Sol bring Lucy to their master.[3][4]
Gray and Juvia Faces Off
Later, during Phantom Lord's attack on Fairy Tail, Juvia is stationed inside the guild's mobile fortress, which has transformed into a giant robot, the Super Mage Giant Phantom MK II, to help cast the forbidden Abyss Breakspell. She appears before Gray Fullbuster, who has infiltrated the base in search of away to stop the robot. Upon laying eyes on him, Juvia becomes attracted to him and is reluctant to fight him, instead asking him to bring Lucy to her to spare herself from having to hurt him. However, Gray refuses, saying he would give up his life to protect her. Juvia immediately misinterprets Gray's resolve and is under the impression that he and Lucy are an item, which prompts Juvia to declare Lucy as her unforgivable rival in love.[5]
Gray Grabs Juvia's Breast
During their fight, Gray manages to freeze Juvia's body, but accidentally gropes her breast and unfreezes her in embarrassment. Moved by his apparent kindness, she tries to confess her fondness of him, but instead makes it to rain even harder, causing him to thoughtlessly remark on the gloomy weather. Now thinking Gray to be as uncaring to her as everyone else who had teased her throughout her life, Juvia attacks him in a vengeful fury, but Gray, determined to win, manages to once again freeze her boiling body with his Ice Geyser. The shock of her defeat snaps her out of her anger and depression, causing it to stop raining around her.[6]
Gray and Juvia Watching the Clear Sky
For the first time in her life, Juvia is able to see the clear, blue sky, the beauty of which moves her to tears. She then spontaneously falls in love with Gray all over again and, overwhelmed, passes out. Her defeat also slows the casting of the Abyss Break spell, which stops entirely after all four members of Element Four are defeated.[7]
Loke Arc

After the Guild War between Phantom Lord against Fairy Tail, with Fairy Tail being victorious, the guild is consequently disbanded by order from the Magic Council, leaving Juvia as an independent mage. However, her obsession with Gray remains, causing her to stalk him and leave him lunches at any given opportunity.[8]
Tower of Heaven Arc
Gray Inside Juvia's Water Body
Shocked by the announcement that Loke is a Celestial Spirit, Lucy explains to Natsu Dragneel, Gray and Happy that he is actually Leo the Lion, leader of the Zodiacs. Considering how he can no longer spend long periods of time in the human world, Loke gives the four of them, as well as Erza Scarlet, a ticket to a fancy resort.[9] Juvia follows them and secretly spies on Gray. She musters up the courage to speak to Gray again, and reveals her intentions to join Fairy Tail now that she is an Independent Mage. As Gray discusses the idea with her, the two are suddenly attacked by Simon, a Dark Mage searching for Erza.[10] Juvia defends Gray and tells him to search for Erza, but Simon uses his Shadow Magic to darken the entire room, moving to attack whilst they are momentarily blind.[11] However, Juvia manages to protect Gray by hiding him inside her water body, whilst Gray leaves an Ice Dummy of himself for Simon to attack.[12] Simon attacks the fake and proceeds to leave, though Juvia notices something off about his actions: because he is a user of Shadow Magic, he would also have the power to see in the dark; he thus wouldn't have been fooled by Gray's Ice Dummy, which he had attacked anyway.[13]
Determined to verify Simon's motives, Juvia accompanies Team Natsu as they head towards the Tower of Heaven, where Erza and Happy have been taken after bring kidnapped by Simon and his allies. They travel by canoe to the Tower of Heaven. Gray thinks they're lost and Natsu is sick from the transportation as usual, though they are all counting on his nose. Juvia expresses how she's surprised that Erza got defeated. Gray gets angry, refusing to believe Erza got defeated. Lucy tells Gray to calm down since they don't know much about Erza. Soon, they see the tower ahead of them and continue sailing towards it.[14]
The Team Infiltrates the Tower
As the group reaches the tower, they see that there were too many guards to walk in, so Juvia recommends they swim under to a secret entrance she just found. She makes them all oxygen-filled Water Bubbles for them to breathe with. Upon entering, they effortlessly fights off the guards they encounter inside.[15] No sooner do they enter one of the tower's main halls do they run into Erza, who has already freed herself from her captives. Juvia becomes nervous that Erza will object to her joining Fairy Tail as a former member of Phantom Lord, but Erza overlooks her and tells everyone to leave - save Natsu, who runs off to find Happy. When the group refuse however, Erza is talked into revealing her tragic past as a former slave of the Tower of Heaven, and how her former friends, including Simon and Jellal Fernandes, intend to use her as a sacrifice to revive the Dark Mage Zeref.[16]
Shortly after Erza finishes her story, they are approached by Simon, who confirms Juvia's earlier suspicions that he had attacked Gray's Ice Dummy on purpose.[17] Saying that his true loyalties lie with Erza and not Jellal, Simon joins the group to help them find Natsu and stop Jellal, as does Shô, another of Erza's former friends.[18] As they ascend the tower, Jellal broadcasts a challenge to defeat him, revealing the presence of three additional challengers,Trinity Raven; he also adds that the Magic Council's ultimate weapon, Etherion, is set to destroy the tower and everyone in it. Shô snaps and runs off to kill Jellal himself, sealing Erza inside a magic card and taking her with him for protection.[19] Though Juvia is eager to travel together with Gray, he sends her together with Lucy to search for Natsu while he follows after Erza.[20]
They regroup with everyone else and board a small boat to escape the tower while Natsu, Erza, and Simon remain inside to stop Jellal.[21] Etherion fires as they sail away, unleashing a wave of water that destroys the boat, but Juvia rescues everyone with a Water Dome. However, the attack does not destroy the tower; rather, it is absorbed by the Lacrima hidden inside.[22] Gray, Juvia, and the others watch from afar as Natsu defeats Jellal and destroys the tower, and joyfully embraces him and Erza as they escape with their lives.[23] As Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Team Jellal return to the resort to recover from the event, Juvia goes to the newly renovated Fairy Tail guild hall to meet with the guild's master, Makarov Dreyar, and finally joins Fairy Tail.[24]
Battle of Fairy Tail Arc
When Team Natsu return to the guild, they find its reconstruction complete and Cana Alberona shows them around. Makarov startles them with the introduction of two new members: Juvia and Gajeel Redfox, their previous enemies. After settling down, they sit down for a song from Mirajane; this calm state doesn't last long, however, as the two Dragon Slayers soon cause a large brawl.[25] A reporter, Jason from the Sorcerer Magazine comes the next day to write about the guild. Gray asks who the reporter is and Juvia reminds Gray what Makarov told them yesterday. The reporter asks Gray why he was always undressing to which he angrily replies that he is not a pervert. But Gray was already in his underwear, to which Juvia pointed it out for him.[26] The master also instructs Gray to accompany Juvia on a mission, since she is a new member.[27]
Gray and Juvia's Fantasia Float
During the Miss Fairy Tail Contest a week later, Gray and the others are seen watching the girls showcase their talents until a member of the Thunder God Tribe, Evergreen, appears during Lucy's performance. Evergreen then reveals that she turned all the girls to stone. Soon, the other two members, Bickslow and Freed, make their entrance along with Laxus. Laxus proposes a game to find out who is the strongest in Fairy Tail.[28] Laxus holds the girls hostage and threatens to smash them if the men don't participate or break the rules. With a time limit of three hours to find and defeat them before the girls crumble to dust, the members of Fairy Tail rush out and the Battle of Fairy Tail begins.[29]
After Laxus is defeated, the guild still decides to participate in the Fantasia parade.[30] During the parade, Gray and Juvia perform on the same float as the king and queen of a frozen kingdom.[31] They, along with the rest of the guild, also signals to the excommunicated Laxus that they will always be looking out for him.[32]
Daphne Arc
Note: The events in this arc occur only in the anime and do not constitute canon material.
Juvia Defending Gray
Gray returns to the guild after being gone for a few days. He tells Natsu about a rumor he heard in a nearby town that a lady named Daphne has spotted a dragon. With this information, Natsu heads out along with Wendy Marvell to go meet her. This, however, was reveal to be a false and Gray, who later shows himself, was said to be working along side Daphne. With that, a fight between Natsu and Gray begins and ends with Natsu being trapped in Daphne's invention: the Dragonoid.[33]
Soon after Lucy and Erza arrived at the scene and Daphne revealed her plan to everyone present, Macao Conbolt, Elfman Strauss and Wakaba Mine came and knocked out Gray to bring him back to the guild. When they went back and told everyone what's going on, Cana asks Gray what were his intentions are. Juvia defended Gray saying that he would never betray the guild. Gray stopped Juvia mid-sentence saying he is ready to speak to the master.[34]
Gray and Juvia Preparing for a Unison Raid
After explaining everything to the master and to everyone else, Gray was soon accepted back. The guild then aims to defeat Daphne and her lizardmen. Gray later takes Juvia and together they perform a Unison Raid on the Dragonoid. This injures and defeats all of the Lizardmen successfully.[34][35]
When Gray noticed Natsu's weird behavior while inside the dragonoid, he and the other members of the guild starts insulting Natsu which made the machine go berserk. With the help of Gajeel and his Iron Dragon Slayer magic, Natsu was able to escape and defeat Daphne and her Dragonoid.[35]
Edolas Arc
Juvia Misses Gray
Gray returns to the guild amid the celebration of Wendy and Carla's induction into Fairy Tail. He is especially greeted with enthusiasm by Juvia, who almost drowns him and a few other Fairy Tail members with her waterfall tears as she expresses her worry.[36] A few days later, Gray teaches Juvia how to eat some Caramade Franks while Alzack Connell and Bisca Mulan watches them, wishing that their relationship was like theirs.[37] Gray and Juvia, along with the rest of the guild and Magnolia town, is then sucked into Edolas by the Anima.[38]
Thanks to the efforts of Mystogan and Team Natsu, the effects of Anima are reversed, returning all the magic back to Earth Land as well as restoring everyone from the guild and the entire city back to normal with no recollection of the event whatsoever.
Like the rest of the guild, Juvia hears of Team Natsu's adventures in Edolas. She learns from Happy that he and the others had met an alternate version of Gray who was in love with an alternate Juvia, who sported her original hairstyle. Depressed, she goes back to wearing her original hairstyle and attire from before she joined Fairy Tail, and despairingly wishes to go to Edolas.[39] After several shenanigans, Gray and the other guild members once again escalate their fun and games into a full-scale brawl. Juvia, watching, states her wish to fight with the others and begins to strip, but she is stopped by Lucy.[40] After the battle, Gray and Juvia end up overexerting themselves, and fall asleep with the rest of the guild.[41]
Tenrou Island Arc
Juvia's Idea of a Passionate Battle
A few days after the team returns from Edolas, the master appears alongside Erza, Mirajane and Gildarts to announce the start of the annual S-Class Wizard Promotion Trial. Gray and Juvia are announced as two of eight candidates who will be participating.[42] After the ceremony, Gray and Juvia are seen talking to the others about the trial. At first, Juvia wants to quit the trial because she wanted to be Gray's partner, however, Gray tells them that he already has a partner, Loke, who shows up and tells Lucy that their contract has been suspended for the duration of the trial. Lisanna, who had recently returned to Fairy Tail from Edolas, decides to become Juvia's partner since she had a good relationship with Edolas Juvia, though Juvia naturally views her as another rival for Gray's affections.[43]
Juvia Stares at Gray's Naked Body
A week later, they, along with the other participants, head towards the island and complains about the scorching heat despite it being winter. Gray strips so much that he even removes his underwear, much to Juvia's enjoyment. After the master appears and tells the teams about the first trial, the two of them are trapped in Freed's runes, along with several others. After the runes are removed, Gray freezes the ocean to make a path and slide to the island while Juvia easily swims to the island in her watery form alongside Lisanna, who uses Take Over to transform to her fish form.[44]
Master Makarov's Reaction to Gray's Question
Gray and Loke manage to choose a battle path and face off against Mest and Wendy, their fight ends somewhat quickly as they had managed to knock out Mest.[45] When Gray and Loke meet up with the others, the master arrives. The master announces how Cana and Lucy defeated Freed and Bickslow, and how Natsu managed to clear Gildart's barrier and passed, he expresses great surprise. He later asks the master about how Juvia and her partner, Lisanna, are doing, and is somewhat disappointed when the master says they met up with Erza and lost.[46]
During the second face of the trial, Juvia, Lisanna, and Erza went back to the resting place. There they meet up with Mirajane who tells them how she lost to Elfman and Evergreen. Mirajane openly ponders the idea of Elfman and Evergreen marrying and having a child, which causes Juvia to become flustered over the thought of having children with Gray. Hoping to go out and cheer for Gray now that she is no longer participating in the trial, she offers to go look for fellow candidate Mest and his partner Wendy who haven't returned to the camp after failing their trial, but becomes frustrated when Erza decides to accompany her.[47]
Due to the interruption of the Grimoire Heart Guild, Erza activates Condition Red, which prompts all of the guild members present on the island at the time to ready for battle to defend Tenrou Island from the invaders.[48]
Juvia enraged by Meredy's words
Erza and Juvia were soon approached by Meredy, one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory after defeating countless members from Grimoire Heart.[49] Before their fight, Meredy reveals her guild's plan to awaken Zeref and create a world where non-magic users cannot survive. Juvia is further shocked when Meredy's Maguilty Sense attack is able to harm her water body, and is completely overwhelmed by her until she is knocked down.[50][51] Throughout the battle, Meredy ranks her opponents in the order she plans to kill them, with Juvia being the low-ranked thirteenth place and Erza being ranked fourth. Despite her injuries, Juvia snaps to attention upon hearing the name of the number one member of Fairy Tail she will kill last is Gray. Meredy's declaration that she would never forgive Gray for causing pain to her beloved guild mate Ultear brings Juvia to her feet in an eerie, dissonant rage that unnerves both Meredy and Erza.[52]
Juvia Tells Erza to Find Gray and the Others
She suddenly begins fighting Meredy with ease and new-found determination that Erza notices she hadn't displayed during her earlier trial. She tells Erza to search for Wendy and Gray, deciding to fight Meredy on her own, and covers Erza's escape when Meredy tries to prevent it.[53] Meredy decides to create a Sensory Link between Juvia and Gray to synchronize their senses, thus making Gray feel the pain of the attacks Meredy unleashes on Juvia. Juvia is overcome with pleasure over the thought of being one with Gray, but knowing that Meredy plans to kill him only increases her strength and will to fight. Noticing this, Meredy casts a Sensory Link on herself so that both Juvia and Gray will feel the pain of Juvia's attacks, and to ensure that Gray will die no matter which one of them dies.[54]
The Three-Way Sensory Link
With her senses connected with Gray's, Meredy decides to kill herself to end Gray's life, but Juvia stops her by breaking her own leg. Unwilling to take anyone's life, not even that of an enemy, Juvia declares that all three of them can live. Meredy still tries to kill herself anyway, but Juvia rushes forward and hugs her; as she does, Meredy's memories of her happiness with Ultear flood her mind. Juvia tearfully begs Meredy to live for the ones she loves, as she does. Her emotions reach Meredy through her Sensory Link, causing her to cry as well. The two reach an understanding and collapse, discontinuing their fight as Meredy lifts her Sensory Link off of the three.[55]
Gray Saves Juvia
When the Sensory Link cast on Gray disappears and he begins to wipe away the tears caused by them, Ultear appears behind him and asks if he was following her. She then goes on to explain that she is the daughter of Ur and that he shouldn't fear her, because they are comrades.[56] After Ultear explains the story she told Gray that it was a lie and reveals her true motivations to Meredy, she finds Juvia and conjures a sword to kill her. Before she can make the killing blow, Gray blocks the attack and brings Juvia away from Ultear. He says he figured that she was lying, telling Ultear he didn't believe a single word she said from the start. Though Juvia is unconscious, she manages to hear Gray state his will to live with his friends and smiles.[57]
Gray wakes Juvia and asks her to chase after Meredy as she tries to escape with Zeref. However, her movements are impeded since she had broken her own leg, forcing Juvia to crawl after Meredy. While Gray is distracted with seeing if the just-woken Juvia is fine and chasing after Meredy, Ultear kicks him in the face.[58]
Juvia Asking Gray for a Punishment
After Hades is defeated by Natsu, Erza, and Gray. The battle ends and the Exceed finally arrive while being chased by Grimore Heart members. Gray and the others have already run out of Magic, but then the members in the camp come to the rescue. When the enemies run away from them everyone started to celebrate their victory. Shortly Gray realizes Juvia isn't there so he asks Freed about her but he didn't know anything about her because she didn't come back to the camp.[59] After Grimoire Heart is defeated, Juvia manages to crawl back to camp, still injured. She apologizes for letting Zeref get away and comically requests Gray to punish her, but Gray refuses to fulfill her masochistic hobby.[60]
Gray Carrying Juvia
The guild's celebration is interrupted when the black dragon Acnologia appears and begins its rampage, terrifying everyone present. Juvia is carried away by Gray with the guild as Makarov overs their escape by fighting the dragon.[61] When Makarov is overwhelmed by Acnologia, all of them return back and go all out against the dragon. As Acnologia, having shrugged off all the combined attacks from its assailants, flies high up into the sky and readies to fire a breath attack against Tenrou Island, the guild members join their hands in a circle. While promising they will return home to Fairy Tail, they are struck by Acnologia's blast, which completely annihilates Tenrou Island, leaving nothing behind.[62]
X791 Arc
Gray and Juvia, along with everyone on Tenrou Island are rescued by Bisca, Alzack, Jet, Droy, Max, Warren and the Trimens from Blue Pegasus. They later watch as Mavis Vermilion reveals that she was the one who saved them with one of the three great Magics of the guild, Fairy Sphere, and then disappears.They return to the Fairy Tail Guild is welcomed back by Romeo.[63]
Juvia's Love Chart
At the party celebrating their return, Gray is surprised when Lyon Vastia walks into Fairy Tail with Sherry Blendy, Toby, Jura Neekis, and Yuka, he catches sight of Juvia for the first time, and claims he is in love, which confuses Juvia greatly. Lyon's confession angers Gray as Juvia starts making a complex love chart afterwards. Later on, Gray and Lyon meet alone. Lyon asks Gray if he knew people named Ultear and Meredy, and then tells him shocking information about them.[64]

Gray and Juvia Dancing Together
When Lucy tries to teach Natsu how to dance in preparation for an upcoming job at a ball, Gray interrupts the two, claiming that dancing looks like a lot of fun but he is later scolded by Lucy. Juvia, who was watching the two the whole time, is jealous. She fiercely declares that if Gray will strip and dance, she will do the same, shocking some of the other Fairy Tail members. She does get her wish though, as Gray eventually dances with her.[65]
Juvia Watching Gray and Erza's Interaction
A little while after Michelle Lobster's arrival, Gray and Erza ask Lucy to go on a job with them to defeat a group of bandits, but Lucy refuses. Juvia hears that Gray and Erza are going to go on a mission together, much to her dismay. Not liking the idea of the two alone, Juvia follows them secretly, and hides behind bushes. She hears a conversation between Erza and Gray, but misinterprets it and gets scared about what will happen next. Erza then notices that the bandits have arrived, much to Juvia’s relief, as nothing more can happen if they are busy fighting. When Gray is having difficulty defeating the Vanish Brothers, Juvia decides that she will help and almost reveals herself, but Gray exclaims something, surprising her, and she stays hidden. Gray then defeats his opponents, which makes Juvia proud of him.[66]
Juvia's Daydream
When Fairy Tail decides to separate into teams in order to gather the five remaining keys, Gray teams up with Juvia. As the two head towards their destination he start complaining why he teamed up with her while blushing, thus, Juvia starts fantasising over their relationship, and even images of the two of them happily living together with a daughter. This daydream is interrupted when Lyon suddenly appears to join them on their mission, much to Juvia's confusion and embarrassment. After the two rivals’ argument, they finally reach the ruins. Gray then asks Juvia how they can search through it, until he finds out that none of them know what to do.[67]
Gray, Lyon, and Juvia Using their Magic
Upon approaching the ruin entrance, the group is confronted by a guard. Gray and Lyon try using Magic on it, but it doesn't work until Juvia then attacks the eyes of the golem, which opens the door for them. When inside, they split up and find a puzzle. They use Magic to move some of the floating blocks into slots in the wall to move the crest of Zentopia Church above them into its correct position. After doing so the three are transported away. There they meet Sugarboy, who quickly traps Juvia and Lyon. Gray then chases after him and when they meet up the clock piece appears. They both go for it and are transported back. When back, Gray and Sugarboy fight over the clock piece until Juvia and Lyon also return, with the three together defeating Sugarboy and taking the clock piece.[68]

The trio travel to some underground ruins to meet up with the other groups, and arrive just in time to see Byro Cracy attacking Lucy and her team. With the rest of Fairy Tail, Gray, Lyon, and Juvia fires their magic at the man to make him back off, to no avail though as their attacks are nullified. Before the fight can continue though the clock pieces start to glow and merge together to form the Infinity Clock, with some strange people appearing beneath the device.[69]
Upon being introduced to the Reborn Oración Seis. As they, as well as the other members of Fairy Tail lie defeated, the Blue Pegasus Guild conveniently arrives and rescues them. Gray and Juvia and the others are taken to their Guild Building where they all recuperate. There, Juvia shows great anger at Bob due to the fact he was sharing the same bed as Gray.[70]
Gajeel Interrupting Juvia's Fantasy
After returning to the guild, everyone discuss about the Reborn Oracion Seis and the Infinity Clock. They were also shocked and confused when Kinana writes some mysterious words on the wall with a fork. As everyone watches as Cana chooses the teams to find Oracion Seis, Gray is paired up with Freed and Juvia is paired with Gajeel, much to Juvia's dislike as she is sad and angry that she can't be together with Gray.[71]
Juvia Stopping Sugarboy from Getting Closer to Gray
After the events around the Infinity Clock ends Legion Corps comes to the guild to apologize and say goodbye to them. Then after a short party, Legion Corps heads off on their life long mission to find the pieces of the Infinity Clock scattered around the world.[72]
Grand Magic Games Arc
Gray, Juvia, and other members of Fairy Tail go to the beach to train for the Grand Magic Games. However, instead they start having fun and decide to just relax for the first day. Later on the day, Gray trains his Ice-Make by creating shapes made of ice while Juvia trains with her Magic by manipulating the waves. At night, she and other girls go to the bath, but she is too embarrassed and doesn't let any of the other girls see her. When Gray and other boys try to peep on Juvia and the other girls, Erza moves to stop them. Juvia immediately defends Gray, saying he would never do something like that.[73]
Juvia Does Not Like What She Sees
On the second day of training, they are interrupted by Virgo, who tells everyone the Celestial Spirit World is in great danger and they need everyone's help. After Virgo dresses them in Celestial Spirit clothes, they are sent to the Spirit World, where they find out there is no trouble, but all of Lucy's spirits had planned a party for everyone's return. Juvia is asked by Aquarius if she had a boyfriend, to which she replied that she did not, blushing. Seeing Gray ruffle Lucy's hair, Juvia is seen to be angered. After a day of celebrating, Virgo informs the gang that time runs differently in the Spirit World than Earth Land, thus they have lost almost the whole three months of training in the one day.[74]
After venting their frustration, a pigeon shows up with a note telling Fairy Tail to meet in the West Forest near a bridge. The gang decides to go, and as they are walking, Juvia is latched onto Gray's arm. He doesn't mind her being attached to him while they walk. Soon, the group finds out the ones who sent them the message were Jellal, Ultear and Meredy, who all stand before them. Ultear informs everyone about how she broke Jellal out of jail and the formation of Crime Sorcière, an independent guild dedicated to fighting Dark Guilds. Afterwards, Ultear tells them that at the Grand Magic Games, they always picked up a strange Magical Force, and they want Fairy Tail to investigate it, as it may lead to where Zeref is hiding. In return, Ultear reveals she can increase everyone's power by activating their Second Origin with her Arc of Time. The gang cheers after hearing this news, but Ultear warns them the pain they will endure from it will be intense.
Juvia Grabs Gray's Arm
Everyone watches in horror as Natsu writhes around on the floor in pain when Ultear begins the process to tap into his Second Origin. When Meredy asks Gray if he would like a sense link to feel what Natsu is feeling, Juvia says that she has loosened up a bit. The gang soon noticed the lack of presence of Jellal and Erza. When Happy says that Jellal and Erza left just by themselves, Juvia grabs Gray and pulls him while saying that she wants to do that too. Later that evening, Ultear performs the process on everyone else and they are scene writhing around on the floor in pain.
Gray Meets Juvia in Crocus
The next day, Gray along with Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Wendy, Happy, and Carla, arrive in Crocus. After a brief meeting with the rest of the Guild members that arrived, he goes out and about in the city. While out and about in the city, he encounters Juvia. Gray asks her what she's doing there, while she says everyone came to cheer them on. She asks him to join her for lunch alone, but as Gray is about to accept, Lyon arrives, interrupts them and says he knows some pretty good restaurants. Lyon then grabs Juvia and asks her to go to the aquarium with him, to which Gray screams at Lyon, telling him not to take away "his member" or "whats his". Lyon challenges Gray, making a bet. He states that if Lamia Scale wins the games, Juvia joins their guild. Gray asks him what would happen if Fairy Tail wins and Lyon says that they would give Juvia back. Gray objects to this saying that Fairy Tail already has her, but Lyon eggs him on, asking him if he is afraid of losing. Gray is annoyed, but Juvia waves her arms in circles asking who Gray wants, her or Lyon. He responds by sweat dropping, thinking she really has no idea what's really going on. Later, it's shown that all three of them did go to eat, although both Gray and Juvia look disappointed that Lyon is with them. Erza asks her team mates when they got back to the inn where they were, to which Gray says he had dinner that wasn't fun (due to Lyon).
Eight teams pass the preliminary event. Gray's team just makes it, coming in 8th place which is to their surprise. Lyon's team passes the preliminary even as well, and he reminds Gray of the bet they made regarding Juvia. Gray tells him that he doesn't remember agreeing to that bet. What's even more shocking is the team that came in 2nd place called Fairy Tail Team B, consisting of Gajeel, Juvia, Mirajane, Laxus, and "Mystogan". Gray immediately calls Juvia's name. In the first event called "Hidden", Lyon competes for his team which makes Gray want to represent Fairy Tail Team A. Seeing Gray participate, Juvia says she will compete too. Therefore the love triangle is present in the first battle. Gajeel comments that if Juvia loses on purpose there will be hell to pay.
Juvia Won't Lose to Gray
The participants of the first event, Hidden, step out. Juvia tells Gray that she's sorry, but she doesn't plan on losing to him. Gray tells her with a happy smirk to hit him with everything she has. Lyon intervenes, saying he will give it everything he has too, for Juvia. She cringes, while Gray tells her not to pay attention to Lyon because his stupidity might be contagious. Gray and Juvia both question who the pumpkin really is, asking him questions.
The field opens with everyone in their own spot of a deserted town. Gray calls out Juvia's name first, and then Lyon's name. A bunch of clones of all participants suddenly scattered around town. The rules state that if you attack a clone, you lose a point. You also lose a point if you get attacked. You gain points by successfully attacking the real participant and not the clone. Juvia has hearts in her eyes, amazed at how many Grays there are.
Juvia Hugs a Gray Clone
She wants to at least touch one. Juvia ends up hugging a Gray clones and looses a point for it as it counts as an attack. She is then teleported to another part of the the field/town. Gajeel calls Juvia an idiot, while Mirajane comments this event might be a disadvantage to the water mage. Gray is cornered by Nalpudding from Raven Tail. He attacks him, but unfortunately Nalpudding had a clone in front of him without Gray knowing. He is teleported to another area, when Nalpudding finds him again but this time actually attacks him. Gray is then encountered by other participants, one which includes Lyon. There isn't much time to speak, as both ice mages look up to see Juvia flying off the roof, calling Gray's name. She lands an attack on Lyon with a hard kick. Gray tells her he doesn't need her help. She tells him she knows that and that she will beat him (she promised the master). Gray questions her, and it turns out the master made a deal with the B team. If they won, they got to have a member from the A team do whatever they want for a day. Juvia imagines her and Gray in an intimate way, and Gray tells her to quit it. He then is shown on the screen yelling at the master because he wasn't aware of the deal and says that since its a local rule it should apply to them too. Juvia repeats that she won't lose and Gray says that's music to his ears. Before they can do anything else, Nalpudding attacks both Gray and Juvia together, Fairy Tail being Raven Tail's obvious target. He tries attacking Gray again, who this time dodges. Rufus of Sabertooth uses his memory make to form an attack and impales all participants at once, earning him first place. Time is up, and Rufus takes the win. Gray swears revenge against Raven Tail and Sabertooth while punching the wall.
Juvia's Reaction to Her Imagination
One the first night after the battles have finished, Juvia joins the Fairy Tail's "post-defeat celebration" with the rest of the guild. After learning that Lucy and Gray were still back at their lodgings, Juvia allows her imagination to go wild with an intimate scenario involving the two. Both Gray and Lucy say that her scenario will never happen. After Makarov gives an encouraging speech, Juvia is seen blushing as Gray gets progressively more naked. During the Mirajane verses Jenny fight, an extra scene is added, and Lyon is shown carrying Juvia as a bride, saying he is the only man for her. Gray comes out of no where and kicks him in the face, catching Juvia in his arms. He says it's no fun having a guild member being taken away by a jerk from another guild, to which Juvia is happy and hugs him, causing them to fall.
Gray Blushing at Making Things Clear with Juvia
On another night of the Games, Gray ends up being snatched away by Lyon and Juvia while everyone else does their own thing. When Happy wonders where Erza and Gray are, Carla responds with "Poor Gray". Erza is seen on the balcony, recalling her conversation with Milliana about Jellal. Gray comes up from behind, asking what she's going out here alone. She also asks him what he's doing out there alone, to which he responds with how he was caught in some messy stuff/tug of war between Lyon and Juvia. He says he doesn't know what it was about, to which Erza questions him, saying that she wasn't there but she has a pretty good idea of what the deal was. She tells Gray that he must have realized Juvia's feelings for him by now, and to give her a clear cut response. Gray blushes at the mention and turns his head. He is aware of her feelings, but has not given her a clear answer yet. Erza smirks at Gray as if she knows something is going on.
Gray Watches the Battle
The group celebrates their victories. Juvia tells Gray that he was wonderful, and Gray says he didn't do anything. Juvia is seen swooning how awesome he is while he is wine barrel surfing. During the event "Naval Battle" on day four of the games, Juvia is selected to participate as she states that she cannot be defeated in water. Lucy represents Fairy Tail Team A. The participants must stay within the sphere. If they fall out, they are disqualified. As Juvia battles Aquarius, they are evenly matched. Extra dialogue is thrown into the anime, where Juvia says she will win and cannot be shameful in front of Gray. Erza then tells Gray as they watch the battle that Juvia is worried about how he sees her. There is a flashback to when Erza talks to Gray about his relationship with Juvia. He watches the battle in deep thought.
Wings of Love
Juvia ends up taking out three participants at once with a move she learned when the second origin was released. It's titled "Wings of Love...", while adding at the end "...Gray-sama love!". She screams out the name loudly and Gray becomes embarrassed, yelling from the crowd to cut it out, while blushing madly. The crowd goes wild as the announcer states how incredible Juvia is by knocking out three opponents at once. Juvia turns around, thinking to herself if Gray felt anything by watching her. She sees he has a disgusted and embarrassed look on his face. Juvia realizes that he's turned off, but because she was distracted, Minerva uses magic to push her easily out of the sphere.
As an extra scene added in the anime, before Lamia Scale vs Mermaid Heel, Juvia is asked by Levy, who will she supports, Lamia Scale (which is directly to Lyon) or Mermaid Heel (which pertains to Milliana). Just then, Juvia only wants to partner up with Gray. With her imagination, again, she plan to ignore her guild members being defeated so that she can partner up to Gray. She says she is a bad person for thinking this way, and redeems herself by telling her guild mates no one is allowed to get injured.
Team Fairy Tail on the Last Day of the Tournament
The second to last day of the tournament has arrived. Juvia has taken Natu's place (seeing as he went to save Lucy) since Fairy Tail A and Fairy Tail B teams have combined due to Raven Tail's disqualification.
The battle is between all five members on every team. The team with the most points at the end wins. Fairy Tail stands still for awhile until they finally move.
Gray fights Rufus, and it's shown how determined he was when Mavis was making the calculations. Juvia looks to him, saying his name. While Gray fights Rufus, he ends up stripping, which causes Juvia to cover her face, blushing, and saying his name like an embarrassed girlfriend would. When Gray wins, Juvia is seen with hearts in her eyes.
Love Square
Another battle shows Juvia fighting with Chelia, which looks to be a cat fight. Cheila blames Juvia for bewitching Lyon, while Juvia retorts that her heart only belongs to Gray. As if on cue, both the girls love interests appear. Juvia shouts Gray's name while Chelia shouts Lyon's name. Both males give each other deep stares, while Lyon says that Gray has seen better days (he's worn out), Gray tells him that him and Juvia will handle them with ease. This causes Juvia's imagination to run wild again, as Gray's sentence they will handle them with ease gets converted into "We'll be together forever. I love you, Juvia". Because she went into fantasy land, Juvia has a cute chibi blush on her face as she hugs Gray from the side and asks them where their honeymoon will be. He asks her how many screws are loose in her head.
Gray Comforts Juvia
The fight begins with Lyon attempting to attack Gray, who dodges. He calls out to Juvia, who already knows what to do. Their attacks are cancelled out by Chelia. Gray says that Lyon and Chelia's team work is not working in response to Juvia question if Lyon was always strong. After a while, they are shown panting and beaten up. Juvia is on the ground, while Gray is standing up. Gray puts his hand on her shoulder. while saying her name. Juvia instantly returns his touch by putting her hand over his, which leads the two to hold hands. Gray says that Lyon and Chelia's weakness is team work and that him and Juvia work together better. This gives her renewed confidence. Gray states they will attack with their full magic power, and Juvia agrees.
Gray and Juvia Defeat Lyon and Chelia
Gray and Juvia perform a combination attack against Lyon and Chelia on the final day of the Grand Magic Games. To which, they hold hands and continue to do so for a bit even after the attack is over with. They combine Gray's ice geyser and Juvia's water nebula to send Lyon and Chelia flying. Before the match is over, Chelia becomes distracted and memorized due to Gray and Juvia working so well together that she calls them "wonderful/so romantic". Lyon yells out to Gray, calling him a bastard, accusing him of being lovey-dovey, and affectionate with Juvia right in front of him. After the attack is over, Gray and Juvia are smiling at each other and still holding hands. Gray blushes, asking Juvia when she will let go of his hand. She says she will never let go, which causes Gray to panic but he lets her lean into him and continue to hold his hand.
Gray and Juvia Talk about being Healed
Near the city's central square, the King of Fiore, Toma E. Fiore, has gathered the guilds together and informed them of the coming danger and asks for their help. While shocked at the news and most still injured from the games, the guilds nonetheless agree to help him. Gray and Juvia are close to each other and hold a small conversation where Gray tells her that it's thanks to the girl from Lyon's guild that they are able to move again. Juvia says it would have been better if it was Wendy.
In Crocus, the Fairy Tail Mages are attacked by Atlas Flame as the other guilds attempt to take down other Dragons by using their superior numbers. Despite their attempts, the Mages are able to inflict little damage, making them doubt they will be able to win.
While Natsu continues his fight with Future Rogue, Future Rogue states that the Mages' efforts are pointless, as humans are unable to defeat Dragons, he then calls for Motherglare to attack; it does so by producing eggs and sending them plummeting into the streets below. Upon hitting the ground, the eggs hatch into small Draconian entities. Upon seeing this, Laxus hits Atlas Flame and orders the Fairy Tail members to focus on the hatchlings while he and the Thunder God Tribe deal with the fiery Dragon.
Gray Pushes Juvia Out of the Way
At the Bar Sun, Meredy stumbles across Juvia, asking if the Water Mage has seen Ultear anywhere. Replying that she hasn't, Juvia and Meredy are interrupted when Gray rushes them and flings them to the ground, barely saving the duo from one of Motherglare's minions, which had crept up from behind. Soon joined by Lyon, both females are told to focus, whilst Gray approaches Juvia, telling her that he needs to tell her something with a serious expression. Immediately assuming he is confessing his love, Juvia becomes flustered, though before Gray can speak he notices another minion firing an attack at Juvia's back. Lyon shouts Juvia's name while she's distracted. Pushing her out of the way, Gray takes the blow full on, the Magic beam hitting him straight through his chest. As he coughs up blood and begins to fall to the ground, more of the miniature Dragons appear, firing multiple times into his body and tearing it to shreds as Juvia, Lyon and Meredy watch on in shock horror. Juvia has tears streaming down her face and she is trembling. As Gray's destroyed body falls to the ground, Juvia screams his name in pure distress, whilst Ultear simultaneously decides that she has no right to live.
As Juvia, Lyon, and Meredy continue to mourn for Gray's death, Ultear utilizes a spell she learned years ago in order to turn back the world's time in hopes of fixing the problems which arose, Time Ark: Last Ages. Despite her efforts, time is only set back by one minute, much to her dismay. However, she was able to brought back time by one minutes before the miniature dragon attacked Gray, thus preventing his death. The group has a vision of what happens to Gray, all in shock and asking what that was about. Gray wonders if he gets killed and Juvia says she saw it too with a tear in her eye. With the knowledge of the future, the Mages prepare for a counterattack.
Juvia Concerned with Gray's Current Mood
The dragons and future Rogue return to their time, and a few days after the events, all the guilds gather at a dance banquet. Juvia comes up to Gray and tells him that she's entered a new era and has become Juvia 2.0. Gray responds with asking when she became a machine. Juvia attempts to hug Gray, telling him she loves him, only for him to walk away, saying he's entering a new era too and that he will say no to the things he doesn't like, referring to Juvia's clingy and fan girl ways. Juvia does not take this as any rejection and instead continues to blush and love how Gray apparently toys with her affections. Gray says that the new version is even scarier, to which Lyon tells Gray he should not say that. Lyon then admits that there is no room in Juvia's heart for him. When a fight breaks out at the dance on which guild Yukino should be in, Juvia comments that Fairy Tail doesn't need anymore women leering at Gray.
Juvia makes Gray smile
Gray is bothered and upset by how both his teacher and teacher's daughter saved him. He is the only one not smiling and not having a good time as Fairy Tail celebrates it's victory from winning the Grand Magic Games when they are back in Magnolia. Juvia picks up on Gray's attitude, saying his name. He tells her it's nothing, looking away. The celebration goes on, Gray still holds a frown, so Juvia asks him again what's the matter. She doesn't know what's wrong, but calls him out and tells him it's rude for him to have a face like that while everyone else is celebrating. Gray cuts her off, saying that she's right, and instantly a smile forms on his lips. Gray thinks that he has to smile for 'her' sake as well. He finally looks at Juvia, keeping a smile, and thanks her. Juvia slightly fan girls, thinking he became dreamy all of sudden, but there is no negative reaction from Gray. Instead, the two are shown looking up, both have smiles as the celebration continues.
Eclipse Celestial Spirits Arc

Gray and Juvia work together
Due to Fiore's sudden drastic changes in weather, a lot of people start to send job requests to Mages guilds for help with the weather and all other sorts of disasters. Lucy comments on the job that has a problem with heat will be no problem since she can use Aquarius, but Mirajane remarks that Gray and Juvia are already out on that job together. The duo stand in the village with their swimsuits on, commenting on the excessive heat. Standing side by side, they start to use their magic on the village. Gray uses ice geyser, and Juvia uses water slicer to cut his ice in order to spread it, cooling the village down. The two look on, proud of their work as the village celebrates. Juvia attaches herself to Gray's arm, commenting that he's so cool. Gray then tells her not to cling to him for every little thing. [75] The guild gathers together to discuss what is currently going on with the celestial spirits and why their personalities have changed. Erza pairs Gray and Juvia together to investigate the situation.[76]
Juvia thinks she missed something important regarding Gray
Cancer is Gray's opponent, but instead of a normal fight, they have a dancing competition much to Gray's dismay. As he dances, Juvia is walking in the desert getting a feeling that something wonderful has begun. Gray ultimately wins the competition, telling Cancer he will kill him if he tells anyone he was dancing. Gray states he will pretend this event never happened. Meanwhile, Juvia is still walking in the desert but stops and looks at the sky, saying that she has a feeling she missed something spectacular.[77] The water mage then ends up fighting Aries. Aries taunts Juvia with water, but despite how thirsty she is, Juvia says she would rather dry out like a raisin then surrender and betray Gray. After she wins, she wonders if she can get back to Gray now.[78] When everyone gathers together again, Juvia comments she is sad, earning a look from Gray, who is next to her. She feels she missed something important in Gray's life, to which the ice mage blushes and denies it.[79]

As the final battle draws near, many fairy tail members are underground, wanting to help Natsu. Gray wonders where they could possibly go because they can hear them but do not know where the battle is taking place. Juvia suggestively tells Gray that just the two of them go somewhere alone while pointing to a cave that's separate from everything else. He asks what's so special about that place. Juvia wiggles around excited and explains and they can be alone. Panther Lily comments with a smug look that this is not the time to be enjoying themselves. Even so, Gray and Juvia work together again in order to aid in destroying the snake bearer. They end up in a cliched dungeon, and Gray says there's no way that will stop them. He uses his ice magic and then calls out Juvia's name. She responds quickly, using water cane. After they blast a hole through the dungeon, Gray compliments Juvia on her nice work. She responds by saying to be alone with Gray under this romantic starry sky it makes her swoon. Gray sweat drops saying that wasn't the point. They then perform another unison raid.[80]
Juvia wants to be a constellation with Gray
It's decided that everyone must travel into another world in order to stop the eclipse king. Juvia says she wouldn't mind going a hundred years into the past if it's with Gray, and he smiles slightly. They fight together against the eclipsed celestial spirit king until he sends them and everyone else flying through the air with his powerful wind and wave of his arms. Gray grabs hold of some sort of giant rock and then catches Juvia by the hand so she doesn't fly away anymore. They get back on their feet and run to attack the eclipsed celestial spirit king again. Gray says that they can't let that thing flail around again and to aim for the arms. Juvia agrees, but just before she can attack, she gets turned into a constellation, and Gray shouts out her name twice in distress.[81] After the spirit king is defeated and everyone who was once a constellation is free, Juvia runs towards Gray, shouting his name. She hugs him with hearts in her eyes, saying next time they should be a constellation together, while Gray smiles and replies gently back to her.[82]
Tartarus Arc
Gray Decides to Try One of the Buns
As Fairy Tail enjoys some relaxation in their guild, Juvia approaches Gray, startling him when she reveals him her baked tray of breads that have his image on them calling them "Gray-Bun". Gray states that despite looking good and all, he doesn't want to eat his own face. Juvia knowing that has prepared another tray of bread with her image instead calling it "Juvi-Bread", which makes Gray think that he has fallen right into her trap. Seeing their interaction, Cana gave a smirk, turning to Mira and asking her what's going on over there because she thought Gray has shot her down. Mira replies that it's the same as always with a smile on her face. Seeing Gray still hesitant, Elfman happily snatches up a handful of the "Juvi-bread" and stuff it into his mouth commenting how manly it taste while Lisanna tells him to learn how to gauge the atmosphere in the room and Juvia crying over the idea of being eaten out by another man. However, much to her delight, Gray decides to take a piece of bread with a blush on his face and tells her that he'll eat one since she went through all this trouble. This made Juvia overjoyed but she then tells him that he is eating the Gray-bun which made Gray do a choking gesture. Before they can continue, the two are interrupted by Jet running into the guild with some bad news.[83]
After being dispatched to a former Councilor's location, Gray and Juvia regrettably inform Makarov via Communication Lacrima that they were too late to rescue the councilor, also noting the poor condition of the city due to carnage.[84] As the members of Fairy Tail deduce the mechanics of Face, Juvia notes that Tartarus may already know the location of the bomb, due to their lack of interrogation.[85]
Gray and Juvia ride back to the guild, with the former reasoning that Tartarus may have found new addresses in the mean time. Juvia is seen clutching Gray around the waist tightly. As Juvia expresses her apprehension about the situation, Gray tells her that given the opponent they may be facing, one who damaged a town, her fear is reasonable but Juvia states that that isn't it. Taking her hand, Gray tells her that he's with her and that they will certainly win.[86]
"I'm here with you."
As Fairy Tail attempts to find a breach in Tartarus's base, they are ambushed by enemies. Gray is fighting one after another. Once an enemy appears behind him, Juvia jumps in and kicks the enemy away, accusing them of trying to hug Gray from behind.[87]
Gajeel saves Lucy from Tartarus member, Torafusa. Juvia protects Gajeel by using water nebula on the Tartarus member, Keyes. Before she can react again, Silver appears and attempts to attack Juvia with ice, threatening the water mage. Gray suddenly comes out and tells him not a chance he would get away with that, and counters Silver's magic with his own ice in front of Juvia.[88] She notices afterwards that Silver has the same perfume as Gray. Silver then launches himself at Gray. Juvia screams out his name, but it's too late. Once Gray gets kidnapped by Silver, Juvia in anger, yells to their enemies, asking where they have taken him.[89]
Silver takes Gray elsewhere in order for their fight to not be interrupted. Gray proclaims that he recognizes his face and his voice. Silver claims to be Gray’s father, but Gray says that's impossible because his father was killed before his own eyes. They start to battle.[90] Meanwhile, Juvia is facing off against Keyes, the necromancer nicknamed "The Black Archbishop". Once again, she has a bad feeling that something is happening to Gray.[91] Back to Gray and Silver, the demon reveals himself to be Deliora, the monster who killed Gray’s family and caused Ur’s sacrifice; that he’s using Silver’s (corpse) body as a holder. Gray becomes enraged, attacking Silver blindly. Keyes tells Juvia that today, the young boy’s story will come to an end. The angered water mage questions what he means. The necromancer continues, saying that he can see it. The power of that calamity once again brings forth despair. And so in the end, the young boy (Gray) will choose the same fate as his master.[92]
Gray thinks of Juvia before he casts iced shell
Gray and Juvia continue to be connected. As she is still being fed information by Keyes, she asks why a wizard who defeats demons would join a guild full of them. Keyes answers it’s because Silver was recognized by the dark king, and Juvia can only think of Gray. Despite continuously being struck by her enemy, Juvia ponders Keyes’s words about Gray making the same choice as his teacher, concluding that he will use iced shell.[93][94] Back to the other battle, Silver appears to have the upper hand as he sends Gray flying into the ground. The man taunts him, asking what’s wrong because he was all fired up a second ago. Gray exclaims he has one option left, iced shell, which is the magic that took away his teacher’s life. Silver thinks Gray is bluffing, however he sees Gray get into position to use it. Memories of his friends and important people flash through his mind, such as Natsu, Lucy, Wendy, Erza, Elfman, Mirajane, Gajeel, Cana, Lyon, and Ur. The last person Gray sees before closing his eyes and apologizing is Juvia, calling his name lovingly.[95]
Remembering Ultear's sacrifice and the fact that he doesn't want to see his friend's tears, Gray halts his attack and does not go through with iced shell. Regardless, Silver seemingly negates the attack by freezing Gray's ice dummies, canceling it out. The real Gray appears behind Silver, subsequently creating a weapon of ice to dramatically boost his throwing power. Utilizing it to throw a steel ball, it rips a hole through Silver's chest, enough to cause him to collapse on the ground. As he lays there, Gray reveals that he knows he is not Deliora, and is aware of his father's presence.[96] Silver starts to explain his story, beginning with the fact he is just a corpse. Juvia is also being told the same information by Keyes. Gray is informed that the necromancer Keyes revived him for the purpose of experimentation, and Silver tells him that he used his new life to exact revenge on all demons for taking his family away from him, that is until he discovered during the Grand Magic Games that his son was alive.[97] Ultimately, he begs Gray to kill him, and just as Gray is about to, he breaks down crying, exclaiming that he can’t do it. Silver and Gray share a loving embrace, to which Silver says Gray has become a good man; that he and his mother are proud of him.[98]
"Take care of Gray"
Using telepathy, Silver contacts Juvia, surprising the water mage. He instantly asks her if she is Gray’s woman, to which she honestly declines, despite steam raising from her head due to embarrassment. Silver ignores her response, getting down to business. He explains to Juvia that her opponent is the necromancer that is controlling the dead chairman. In order to stop FACE, he must be defeated. Juvia questions him, because she knows what that would mean for Silver. With a sad expression and his eyes downcast, Silver understands that Juvia can tell what the consequences are, but it doesn’t matter. That she must do this... For Gray. The task entrusted to Juvia will bring forth the tears of her loved one.[99]
Juvia tries to continue her talk with Silver while being attacked by Keyes, asking if he can hear her. Concluding he is now unreachable, she decides that she doesn't have a choice regarding Keyes, but wonders if it's really for Gray's benefit.[100] Keyes states that they all knew that Silver was acting against them, and his reasons for it. They recognized that his anger and burning desire for revenge are what allowed him to extend his life for so long. Calling Silver a wonderful puppet, Juvia comments that’s disgusting. He continues on to say that father and son, one dead and the other living, shall now cut each other's throats. It will be a story that creates an even more perfect corpse. Juvia calls Keyes a monster; that humans are not his play things. However, the necromancer responds by saying they are research tools. Angered, Juvia shouts that humans don't exist to acquiesce to his whims. As Juvia attacks him again, Keyes claims that he will kill her, and then use her corpse to slaughter all of her friends. She screams that she won’t let him do that, as something catches her wrists.[101] Keyes ensnares her in his body, and dares her to destroy him. He adds that without his master, Silver will also disappear. Tormenting her, the demon asks what’s wrong, telling her to sever the bond between father and son; to erase the boy’s father’s spirit from this earth. With her lips trembling and shedding tears, Juvia says she can’t do it. Keyes replies that is human foolishness; such is the nature of humans. That emotions are but impediments of reason.[102]
Gray crying and thanking Juvia
As Keyes calls humans unsightly impediment bundles of ego, he swallows Juvia into his magical barrier particle body. Her friends look on in shock as she is engulfed by his curse, completely vanishing. Keyes then feels a sudden throbbing inside of him, realizing that Juvia had turned into water. He is horrified that he could be done in by human magic. He hears Juvia say that he cannot sever the bond between humans; that Gray and father’s feelings will surely reach each other. She bursts from his body, utterly destroying him from the inside out. Screaming at the top of her lungs, Juvia says that even if they change form, feelings always remain in the heart. Because that’s what she believes to be the strength of human love. As his skull cracks, the other Fairy Tail members express proud looks; meanwhile the demons of Tartaros are in shock. Juvia is still crying, begging for Gray to forgive her. Silver then speaks to Juvia once more, showing gratitude. She is surprised to hear his voice, but he thanks her again, because it’s thanks to her that his soul is finally able to find peace. She tries to form a sentence through her tears, but Silver interrupts her, telling her not to say anything. He tells her to take care of Gray. Bringing her hands to her face, Juvia promises she will, as Gray watches his father disappear, saying he can rest now.[103]
Following the battle, Juvia all of a sudden coughs up blood, confirming that she’s been poisoned. Before she hits the ground, Lucy catches her, telling her to hang in there. Juvia says that she wants to see Gray, and her friend can only hug her, assuring her that she will see him soon.[104] After Gajeel defeats Torafusa, Gray briefly shows up to slay Tempesta. Unfortunately he does not stick around for too long, leaving before Juvia wakes up. Once awake, Juvia asks if Gray was there, followed by her guilt stricken face. Gajeel tells her that he headed somewhere, as she looks towards the floor.[105] Gajeel, Levy, and Juvia head to Porlyusica’s place in order to deliver the blood for the antidote to cure the poisoned members. Juvia appears weak, mumbling Gray’s name as Gajeel carries her on his back.[106]
Gray and Juvia hug
Juvia finds Gray sitting in front of a tombstone in the northern continent, hesitantly comes up behind him, and immediately apologizes when Gray accuses her of following him. Wanting to tell him for a long time now, Juvia admits that the person who took down the necromancer that was controlling Silver was herself. Shaking, hiccuping, and sobbing Juvia explains that she believes she has no right to love Gray anymore, because she killed his father. With his eyes hidden, Gray makes his way over to Juvia, grabbing her by the front of her coat. Unable to contain his feelings any longer, Gray breaks down and lets his head fall on Juvia’s chest. In Juvia’s arms, tears are now running down Gray’s face as he thanks her. They both then fall to their knees, with a crying Gray telling her that he’s sorry over and over again. Visibly shaking, Gray wraps his arms around Juvia’s waist, while she also holds him, making a comment that he’s warm. Afterwards, Gray and Juvia are standing side by side as Gray vows to defeat E.N.D. no matter what. Juvia agrees, giving him her full support with a smile.[107]
Avatar Arc
A year has passed since the disbandment of Fairy Tail. Members have gone their separate ways. Lucy has been researching over the year, and tried to keep track of everyone. It's notable that Gray and Juvia's pictures overlap on her wall. Natsu and Lucy meet again and decide to go on an adventure to rebuild Fairy Tail. After Natsu, Lucy, and Happy encounter Wendy, the group wonders where to head next. Lucy mentions a town called the village of the rain bringer, where it rains all the time. They wonder if it could be Juvia. She is then seen walking in the rain alone, as she has reverted back to being the "rain woman".[108]
Gray and Juvia living together
Natsu and co. enter the rain village in search of Juvia. The dragon slayer makes a comment that he can smell her, even though the others think the village is abandoned. Natsu runs towards Juvia, who is sitting on a bench with her head down. Thinking Gray has returned, Juvia perks up and hallucinates, picturing Gray saying he's come back for her. She runs towards Natsu, trying to hug him shouting Gray's name. Natsu stops her, making her snap out of her delusion. The group asks how she's been and if she's been living in this village alone. After hearing that, Juvia starts to cry and then faints right on the spot. Juvia has a really high fever and is now resting in bed.[109]
Lucy wonders if this is Juvia's house, but Natsu interrupts and says that he can smell Gray in the house too. Juvia then tells them that she lived with Gray. Her friends give a shocked expression, but she continues to say that just the two of them lived in the house together alone with a grin. She tells the story of how they lived. Gray and Juvia ate together, trained together, and did jobs together. She explains that these were happy days. But then one day everything changed. Juvia has a flashback to her picking up Gray's clothes, and as she does that she sees black marks on his body. Juvia asks him what's wrong with his body, but Gray tells her not to worry and asks what's for lunch. Since that day, he started going off on his own more often until he stopped coming back completely. Natsu comments that Gray is a jerk for leaving without a word. It's been half a year since he last came back to the house. Juvia says that she went searching every day for him, but never found him. At that point she decided to wait instead. She starts to cry and explains it's because this place holds many memories for Juvia and Gray, and so she's sure that he will come home one day. Juvia apologizes and turns over in bed, not facing her friends, saying a reunion should be happy. Natsu looks out the window with a serious face and promises to bring Gray back.[110]
Juvia has faith Gray will come home
The demon slaying marks on Gray's body are eating away at him, as he is now a member of the black magic cult, Avatar.[111] Lucy mentions that she lost track of Gray some time ago, so her and Natsu head to Sabertooth while Wendy stayed behind with Juvia. As she heals Juvia, Wendy makes it clear even with her magic, Juvia's fever isn't breaking. She tells Natsu in her head to bring Gray back as quickly as he can.[112]
Natsu, Lucy, and Happy find Gray, who seems to be possessed, at Avatar's base and try to talk sense into him. While fighting, Natsu mentions to Gray that Juvia is waiting for him. Gray remains silent and almost gets hit by Natsu's attack.[113] The rest of Avatar eventually capture their intruders, and just as Lucy is about to get sliced in half, Gray comes in and contacts Erza, telling her that the infiltration mission has been ruined. Gray breaks them free while remaining on the lacrima phone with Erza. The two explain themselves as they all travel towards the town the purification ritual Avatar has planned will take place. It turns out that Erza ran into Gray and asked for his help in checking out Avatar. Gray agreed because he wants to defeat END anyway. Natsu comments to Gray that it's wrong he did all this without telling Juvia, and Gray is once again silent with a blank expression. Erza interrupts and says she was the one who stopped Gray from saying anything because the less people who knew, the higher the success rate of the mission. She also says that Juvia could have been in danger. Hearing this, Happy concludes it was all for Juvia's sake but Natsu's mind remains unchanged. Erza feels for sorry what may have happened to Juvia, and says that they didn't think the mission would take this long.[114]
They strip and fight together
Team Natsu is fighting Avatar to stop the purification ritual. Gray faces off against Briar, who is a clone user and can manipulate their alter ego's feelings. Briar makes a clone that confesses love to Gray, and suddenly Juvia appears behind him extremely angry, assuming she is a love rival. Juvia uses water claw on the Briar clone, while Gray stares in shock wondering why Juvia is there. She hugs Gray and tells him she's missed him. Juvia also mentions that she had a feeling Gray was in trouble so she came as fast as she could, to which Gray tells her it's not a big deal. He puts his hands on her shoulders and asks how she got there, and she says that Wendy's sense of smell is really good. Gray stares at her and then reverts his eyes down with a guilty expression and all he can say is that he's sorry. After that, he says he will explain later but for now they must take all their enemies down. Juvia understands as they both strip their shirts off in sync preparing for battle. The two fight Avatar side by side.[115] Following Avatar's defeat, Gray apologizes for causing everyone so much trouble, to which Juvia replies that as long as he's safe, she's happy. Later, Gray finds Frosch cute and gives the exceed a hug. Juvia then thinks she has another love rival.[116] On their way back to Magnolia, Gray asks Gajeel not to tell the higher ups about "them". Juvia says that her and Gray living together was a secret, with a happy look on her face. Gray corrects her saying that's not what he meant, but rather he was talking about him and Erza's mission.
Alvarez Empire Arc
Gray and Juvia work together
Fairy Tail has been reunited after the one year disbandment. Many members are at work rebuilding the guild again. Gray is on a ladder hammering some wood and asks Juvia, who is standing below him to hand him a nail. She excitedly uses her water magic to bring the nail to him. Gray tells her not to get it wet. Seeing their interaction, other members of the guild start to comment on what Gray and Juvia's relationship is because they heard they were living together. Rumors included them getting married, having kids, but Gray cheating on Juvia with Lucy or Erza, etc. Hearing the rumors, Gray freaks out and asks how far they are going with this. Sweating, he plays off living with Juvia as them just crashing in the same place together, while Juvia is smirking in the background.[117] Doranbolt explains what happened to Makarov and Fairy Tail sends out Team A to rescue him. Juvia asks Cana if she's seen Gray, and she jokingly says to the water mage she drank him with her booze. Juvia takes that seriously and stretches Cana's mouth looking for him. Mirajane interjects and tells her that Gray left with Natsu and Lucy a while ago. Juvia imagines Gray and Lucy together and starts to comically hyperventilate, but a smirking Gajeel puts his arm on her head and tells her they are forming the B Team to find Laxus.[118]
While searching for Laxus, Juvia wonders why she is with this team, but Mirajane says it can't be helped because Gray left before them.[119] At one point, the team is relaxing in the hot springs and Juvia is embarrassed to join the other girls. Lisanna comments they are all girls so what is to be embarrassed about, and Mirajane think it's funny because Juvia is so confident in front of Gray. Therefore, Levy calls Gray's name, tricking Juvia as she leaps into the hot springs saying she "accidentally" dropped her towel. Cana wonders what her problem was again.[120] Gray and his team rescue Makarov and Team B aids them by saving them via airship. When she sees Gray again, Juvia rushes over to him and is glad he is alright. They then return to the guild with their friends.[121]
"I'm grateful to have you. You're always by my side."
Back at the guild, Makarov is named the master again and gives information about Alvarez, and Fairy Heart. Mavis then appears and tells the story of Fairy Heart, and the story of her and Zeref. Unfortunately it is a tragic love story, and Juvia feels sorry for Mavis. She cries, getting a shocked reaction from Gray, and says Mavis had to fight the person she loved.[122] Fairy Tail must take down the Alvarez Empire, and Zeref; prevent the 12 spriggan and their emperor Zeref, from getting Fairy Heart. It's now the calm before the storm and the night before they plan to invade Alvarez. The members of the guild are spending their time freely. Before the battle of Fairy tail vs Alvarez begins, Juvia approaches Gray who is standing on a balcony eating a chocolate bar, and he offers her some which she takes in embarrassment. With a smile, Gray says he is grateful to have her with him and notes how she is always by his side. Juvia is modest and tries not to take credit, and Gray tells her that once the battle is over he will give her an answer. This is presumed to be about her feelings for him and their relationship. Her eyes are wide and she blushes in surprise. He continues on and tells her for now to let him focus on the fight. Juvia smiles knowingly and tells him she will. Gray says that he has some tricks up his sleeve, and the scene ends with Mavis smiling over the two.[123]
"Where are both of your clothes?"
Gray and Juvia continue to fight the enemies of the empire side by side. The Strauss siblings find the duo and lend them a hand as well. Ajeel of the Spriggan 12 creates a sand whirlpool that engulfs the city, causing Fairy Tail to stand their ground. Juvia holds onto Lisanna for support while crying out for Gray.[124] Once the sandstorm disappears, everyone gets back into action. Gray's team is left to face another Spriggan 12 member, Wahl Icht. Juvia runs forward first activating her water body, but the robot is able to knock her down using steam that causes her side to burn. Juvia cries in pain, while Gray calls out her name and curses. In order to help her, he starts an ice make attack but is stopped by a robot who uses fire. The rest of the group seem to have problems as well. It's revealed that Wahl can analyze his opponent's strengths and weaknesses and creates robots to perfectly counter them.[125] After battling for a while, Gray and Juvia switch opponents so that Gray can fight the steam user and Juvia can fight the fire user to defeat the enemies with ease.[126] Once all the robots are defeated, Gray and Juvia stand proudly together half naked, commenting that they finished things up. Lisanna asks the two where their clothes are, because they both stripped.[127]
Following that, everyone meets back up at the guild to discuss their next plans. It's revealed that Mermaid Heel and Lamia scale are headed south, and that's where Gray, Juvia, Laxus, Wendy, and Natsu must go too. Gray comments that he hasn't seen Lyon's ugly mug in awhile but Juvia remarks she would prefer not to see him. They then realize that Natsu is missing.[128] During their travel to the south, the group stops to rest. Juvia shows Gray a heart shaped sleeping bag for them to share but Gray won't sleep in it because it's too hot.[129] The next day, Fairy Tail comes to Lamia Scale and Mermaid Heel's aid. Gray and Juvia appear in front of Lyon rushing through the front lines to take out the enemies. Lyon still thinks Juvia is cute.[130] The trio continue to fight Alvarez troops. Two enemies appear catching Juvia off guard. Gray turns around to her, screams her name, and to look behind her. Juvia is saved by Meredy.[131] While fighting against Ur, who was brought back by Neinhart's Historia magic, Lyon speaks of invaluable experiences. Gray recalls all the moments that gave him a push further into his path of overcoming the traumas of the past and growing into the person he is today. His moment with Juvia where he sobs into her chest at the end of the Tartaros Arc is one of those important moments he remembers.[132]

Juvia Stares at Gray's Body
Fairy Tail has an indoor pool. Makarov decides to open the indoor swimming pool of the guild to the public and states that he's going to get everyone to prepare for attractions so that the customers may have a good time. Makarov insists that everyone is having fun and decides to show Lucy Juvia's attraction, the Juvia Slider. Makarov explains that with the help of Juvia's magic, the water courses are limitless. At first, Lucy is enjoying the ride but Juvia gets distracted by Gray's body, causing Lucy to tumble into the pool. Lucy then suggests to Makarov that he put Juvia's attraction somewhere far away from Gray. At the end of the chapter, Gray and Juvia are in the water together.

Juvia's Room
A mysterious request is posted on the guild's request board. Lucy decides to investigate and ends up in Fairy Tail's Ladies Dormitory, Fairy Hills. Upon seeing Juvia's room, Lucy notes that it is unexpectedly normal. Juvia asks Erza and Lucy what business they have with her, to which Erza says Lucy is only looking around. There is a Gray doll in Juvia's room as well. She prepares tea for her guests, and Erza says the tea is nice. Juvia replies that's because its name is "something Gray" with a dreamy look on her face. Lucy tries the tea and instantly spits it out due to it being too spicy. Juvia puts her hand over her mouth with a smirk, wondering if she had mixed up tea and super chilli soup.

Fairy Tail Teams A and B settle their “bet” from the beginning of the games (whichever team loses has to do whatever the other team says). Since no one technically “won”, it ends with Fairy Tail B victorious in a game of rock, paper, scissors. Juvia thinks to herself that the day has come to make Gray fall for her. She picks Gray as her victim, naturally. His “punishment” seems to be Juvia feeding him with a spoon. She tells him to open up and say “ah”, to which he does what she says with a blush on his face. Unfortunately, Juvia ends up choking Gray because she is too nervous. Gray isn’t very happy, asking her what that was for. She then offers him water from her body, and Gray refuses to drink it. At the end, Gray says he can't look Juvia in the eye anymore. The water mage exclaims “no way!” with a bummed expression on her face.
Welcome Back, Frosch
Gray and Juvia See Frosch
While on a search for his guild, Frosch meets Gray and Juvia who are seen walking together. The two notice the exceed and ask what he is doing. Frosch replies that he is shopping which earns a compliment from Juvia since he is doing it all by himself. When Frosch suddenly starts crying, Gray and Juvia are startled and ask him what's wrong. He then admits to the two that he's actually lost. Gray then suggests that he could bring him back to his guild. This act earns him a praise from Juvia, saying that Gray is so considerate. But Frosch declines Gray's offer because he wants to do it by himself. Gray strips and pats Frosch on the head, telling him "good luck". He then lets him go off on his own. Juvia is seen with a smile holding Gray's discarded clothes for him.[133]
413 Days

The chapter starts off with Juvia in the shower in her room at the Fairy Hills girl's dormatory. She's washing herself with a "Gray" like sponge as she talks to herself about how he knows every nook and cranny of her body with a flustered and dream like face. Juvia gets out of the shower and uses a towel with the words "Gray-sama love" on it and a picture of him with a thumbs up. She starts to get dressed and we see all of her Gray merchandise she owns. Juvia kisses her big Gray doll goodbye and says she needs to go.
Juvia tells Gray it's their anniversary
When Juvia reaches the guild. Erza notices she's in a good mood and so she asks what's going on. Juvia puts her hands on her face saying it's the 413th day anniversary of when she met Gray with a blush on her face. Carla makes a comment saying that's an odd number for an anniversary, while Erza asks if it's a happy day to be sure. Juvia confirms that it is. And so Erza asks Juvia how she will celebrate the occasion to which Juvia replies she's doing nothing because she is fine with it being simply a happy day. Erza tells Juvia that isn't right and she should make Gray a happy man by giving him a present because it's an anniversary. Juvia then imagines herself giving Gray an anniversary cake with Gray's happy reaction telling her to get married. Juvia pictures herself and Gray getting married, while Wendy says that escalted quickly.
It's starting to get late and Juvia wonders if Gray is still in the guild. She starts looking around with a scarf behind her back. While doing so, she starts to have halluncinations of Natsu and Lucy talking dirty to each other and Gajeel and Levy kissing. When she snaps back to reality, Gajeel tells Juvia that the ice prick is outside. The water mage sets outside and calls Gray's name. He looks over with a bottle of alcohol in his hand but still greeting her. Juvia starts blushing and shows Gray the scarf she made him, telling him it was rushed so it probably isn't very good but it's handmade for him. Gray attempts to walk off bidding her goodnight, but Juvia latches onto him telling him to wait. They start to go back and forth; She tells him she made this scarf just for him, he says he doesn't need one, and she says it's cute. He tells her not to make him look like that flame-brain (Natsu), while Juvia says it's getting cold outside. Gray looks directly at her and says the cold doesn't bother

him because he is an ice mage. Juvia falls to the ground mumbling that today is their anniversary, and that he doesn't have to wear but keep it to remember. This makes Gray stop walking away, so he questions her. She explains that today is the 413th day since they met, and Gray says he has never heard of anyone celebrate that anniversary. Juvia says it doesn't matter as long as today is a happy day. Gray says sorry, maybe next time.

Juvia is sitting alone by a river with her face pressed to her knees when Erza walks by and states this is unlike her because she is usually so optimistic. In response, Juvia starts to wail and clings to Erza's leg saying she didn't know that today was such a sad day for Gray. There is a flashback of Lyon passing by Juvia right after Gray left and telling her today is the anniversary of his teacher's (Ur's) death. Juvia speaks her feelings to Erza, saying she told Gray it should be a happy day and yet she hadn't a clue of what today really is. She wonders what she should do now, and Erza apologies because she pushed her to do it (get a present for Gray). Juvia disagrees and says that it's her own fault, while the scarlet haired mage tells her that Gray probably won't take it to heart as it's just a date. Even so, Juvia feels terrible. Erza sits down, comforting Juvia, telling her that if their are those who lost their lives on this date, then surely some are born on this date as well and that each day carries different weight to each individual. She continues and highlights what's important is how you feel on this day called today. Hearing that speech, Juvia continues to cry into Erza's shoulder.

Gray is walking alone around Magnolia looking down with a sad look on his face. He notices it's starting to snow, and instantly remembers a time when he was a little boy. In the flashback, Ur asks Gray if he's cold. She wraps a scarf around his body, telling him it will keep him a bit warm. The ice mage then looks back and starts to run. He's frantically looking for the scarf Juvia made for him. Juvia is seen looking up and touching the snow with a tear in her eye, as Gray is digging and digging through the snow to find the scarf. When he finally locates the item, Gray picks it up and stares at it before putting it around his neck with a blush on his face. He states that the scarf is actually pretty warm as he starts to walk again. But unlike how he was walking before, Gray has a smile on his face this time. Unbeknownst to Gray, Erza sees him with the scarf on, and his smile, making her smile knowingly too.

The following day, Juvia apologies directly to Gray for yesterday. Gray is blushing and looking away while saying he was the one out of it then, and he's sorry. Juvia then pulls out an apology gift which is actually a hug pillow of herself in lingerie which freaks Gray out. As Erza watches, she comments, "there they go again."

Ichiya creates an "ultimate perfume" that spreads around Magnolia. When sniffed, this perfume will transform your face into Ichiya's own. Those infected can spread the "disease" to others just by sniffing them. A few Fairy Tail females are working as maids at 8 Island Magnolia for the grand opening of the restaurant. Juvia is on break with Wendy looking at a magazine. She shows Erza the magazine and it has a ranking of the hottest male wizards. Juvia makes a comment that Gray is listed there and that's why it's superb. Erza wonders why Ichiya isn't listed because he always talking about his attractiveness. All of a sudden, infected Jet and Droy appear in the restaurant and sniff Levy. Terrified, many members run out of the place, including Juvia.[134] Juvia is walking around with Wendy and Carla, noticing the town is filled with Ichiyas. Gray runs to them asking if they are alright. Juvia replies now there is a hot guy she wants to be rescued by. Gray wonders what's going on while she asks how the guild is. He tells the water mage it's gotten real ugly over there, referring to all the Ichiyas. The conversation continues as Gray asks if anyone was able to avoid it. Wendy and Carla make a note that they were separated from Lucy and Erza. Juvia hugs Gray and tells him that she's scared. Saying her name, Gray tells Juvia not to worry while returning her hug. After that, he turns into Ichiya, saying to count on him to smell her lovely perfume. Juvia screams as Wendy and Carla run away.[135]

Once everyone is cured, Gray and Juvia are sitting next to each other at the guild. He comments he was worried for a little while, and she states the Ichiya virus was truly frightening. Their conversation ends with Gray saying the perfume has been banned and Juvia agreeing. [136]
Fairies' Christmas
Fairy Tail members which include Team Natsu, Juvia, Gajeel, Levy and the exceeds gather at Lucy's house for a Christmas party. They chug their alcohol and celebrate all night. Among the conversations, Juvia tells Gray not to strip right now.[137] The celebration turns into chaos once the girls become intoxicated once again. Natsu and Gray try to escape the madness but are stopped by Erza. Juvia is a depressed and sad type of drunk, so she is crying, and is upset that Gray is trying to go home and leave her all alone. Lucy and Levy interact with Gajeel and Natsu, while Juvia is crying about all the snow falling everywhere.

Gray who is next to her, asks why she is getting so worked up about it. Juvia gives Gray a bone crushing hug, crying as she says it's just so sad. The trapped ice mage says he doesn't care about that. Seeing the interactions, Erza comments to herself that these couples are acting lovey-dovey and making her feel like a third wheel. With that mindset, she makes everyone play the guild master game, a game wherein a guild master is chosen by a random draw of sticks every round. The others are given numbers which nobody else knows, and the Master has the right to make any person with the number they choose perform any action.[138] Erza proves merciless as she orders her friends to perform embarrassing acts, many of which involve getting naked. In the game, Gray is forced to stare at Levy and share an embrace with Lucy, to which he is relieved these are easy tasks. Levy agrees, and Lucy is also fine with it as long as it doesn't go any further. But Juvia is distressed as she questions if Levy is now a love rival and why does it always have to be Gray doing these things in the game.[139] Erza is the guild master once again and orders the specific number to strip down on all fours and shout out the name of the one they love. Gray strips and gets down on his hands screaming out Ur's name. Juvia comedically crying says her heart is in pieces. She is then ordered to go out shopping in nothing but a swimsuit.[140]

After more torture, Gray finally manages to avenge everybody and orders Erza to walk home naked at the end of the game. She leaves the party and as she walks home she runs into Jellal. Erza becomes embarrassed and tries to cover herself up. Jellal puts his coat around her and asks if she's been drinking and Erza admits she has. She explains that everyone was getting all flirty with each other and she felt jealous and left out. While admitting her jealousy, images of the couples appear in her mind as flashbacks. They include Gray and Juvia, Natsu and Lucy, and Gajeel and Levy. Jellal grins and kindly accompanies her home.[141]

Lucy finds a strange request on the guild's request board while looking for jobs. The request says: Female Applicants only. Search & Find what I'm looking for. No reward to be given. Come to Fairy Hills. Mirajane asks Lucy to investigate the mysterious request. Lucy agrees and arrives at Fairy Hills, Fairy Tail's Ladies' Dormitory. At Fairy Hills, an old woman suddenly appears and jumps at her to inspect her body to confirm that she is a female. She introduces herself as Hilda and that she is the client of the job, and also the matron of the dormitory. Lucy, out of curiosity, accepts the job. Hilda asks from Lucy to find a shining treasure inside the dormitory and not to let any of the other girls see it. Meanwhile, Erza looks out of a window and sees Lucy alone, as Hilda had suddenly disappeared. Erza asks her what she is doing there, and Lucy replies that she is just looking around. Erza tells her that she will show her around. Erza begins to show Lucy the girls' rooms.
Juvia's Bedroom
According to Lucy, Juvia's room is unexpectedly normal in look. It has wooden ceiling complete with the Hills' signature carved part, topping a wall which has two arched windows one few inches away from the other, both possessing double curtains, and both overlooked by a shelf which has two flowerpots on it. Flanking the wall left from the entrance is a four-poster bed with an intricately decorated headboard and transparent curtains; sitting on the bed is a plushie representing a stylized Gray, in reference to Juvia's obsession with him. On the wall opposite to the bed is a bookshelf bearing several books, which has a plushie hanging from it, and two heart-shaped pillows sitting on the floor not far. Right beside the bookshelf is a desk, housing more books and stationery, paired with a chair with an intricately decorated back, which has a teddy bear leaning against one of its legs. A small, round wooden table is also present, with a sofa sitting nearby. There is also a picture of Gray hanging on the wall.[142]
Later, the girls are going swimming at the lake celebrating a welcome party for Wendy and Carla. During the party, they started an event called "Fairy Hill's specialty, Fooling Around in Love" and their topic in that event is; "Who is in Fairy Tail wouldn't you mind being your boyfriend?". Juvia's answered was Gray. When Levi mention to Bisca about Natsu and Erza bathed together, Erza told them that she even bathed with Gray which makes everyone shocked even Juvia. When Happy mention about Lucy, Evergreen thought of Natsu whereas Bisca said it could be Gray which makes Juvia angry and she said angrily "Juvia thinks it's Loki".[143]
Fairy Academy - Yankee-kun Yankee-chan!
School is finally over and Lucy walks through the hallways with Wendy. When they leave the school, they find Erza waiting for them by the gate. Erza offers to walk with them and the two agrees. While walking, Erza reveals that the real reason she asked them to accompany her is that she was asked out on a date by and asks them to help her pick a dress. The two immediately agree and pull Erza into a shop.
Juvia Defeated by Gray
After they finish shopping, the three are confronted by Gajeel, Totomaru, Juvia, and Aria, students of Courage Academy. Erza leads the two past the group but Gajeel grabs Lucy's hand, asking her to play with him. Erza takes off her glasses and then pulls out an iron pipe from inside her dress. She quickly beats up all the enemies, even Juvia who became infatuated with Gray when he and Natsu arrived. Erza then sees her date, Seig, who drops the flowers he is carrying after seeing Erza beat up the students. Seig calls her a devil and Erza is lost for words.[144]
The next day, Erza still hasn't recovered from what happened the previous evening and everybody tries to cheer her up. Happy then announces that they have a new transfer student named Jellal. Just then, Aries arrives and informs the class that something horrible has happened. Everyone heads to the school grounds and sees Makarov, Macao and Wakaba unconscious and pinned to a tree. The culprits are Gajeel and his gang from Courage Academy, as seen on a note on Makarov. Natsu the declares war on Courage Academy. Later that day, the five students from Courage Academy arrive at Fairy Academy. Gray is surprised to see that there were only five of them but the group reveals that they have captured and bound Mirajane. Natsu and Gray then charge at the group. Natsu uses some dynamites and hot rocks while Gray uses an ice shaver to attack Sol and Totomaru. Juvia, immobilized by her infatuation for Gray, tries to tell him she loves him but he attacks her too. Gajeel then attempts to attack Natsu with an iron pipe but Natsu stops him by putting multiple bottles of hot sauce in his mouth. Lucy then calls on her strongest friend to help them fight. Erza then goes to join the fray, but falls into a pitfall. Erza, noticing that her dress is ruined; she quickly disposes all of the enemies. Just then, Sieg, Jellal and their eccentric look-alike arrive and call Erza the devil, leaving her dumbfounded. Just then, Lucy's friend, Aquarius, arrives and causes a huge mess. Later that night, Lucy tries to cheer Erza up but Erza tells her that she's okay and the group, with Mirajane, goes to karaoke all night long.
Gajeel and Juvia Joins Fairy Academy
A few days later, Carla announces that everyone who fought with the Courage Academy will be subjected to a special lecture. Carla then gives the microphone to the principal, Plue, who begins to dance. Everybody is dumbfounded by what he is doing and only Natsu and Carla seem to understand him. After that, everything returns to normal, or as normal that it can be in Fairy Academy, and Lucy may have learned to love her new school. There are also two new transfer students to Fairy Academy: Juvia and Gajeel.[145]
Fairies' Training Camp
Some of the Fairy Tail members decided to train on the beach for the Grand Magic Games. Even though purpose of coming there is to train for the Grand Magic Games, Erza tells everyone that they will spend the first day having some fun. Natsu and Gray are eager to swim in the sea, but they are quickly outrun by Jet who rushes using his magic. Juvia shields Gray with her umbrella in order to block the sand from hitting him in the face. He thanks her and she said it was nothing. She also tells him that she bought a new swim suit for the day and she has it under her dress. She wants him to be the first one to see it. However, he ends up ignoring her and racing Natsu to the water. Happy and Carla remind Juvia that they are not there to go man hunting.

While Gray, Jet, and Natsu are having a swimming race, Erza sees that Juvia had not changed and asks her if she is going to. Juvia responds by telling Erza that she won't take anything off unless Gray sees her first. Gray ends up loosing his swim suit in the middle of everything and freezes the ocean. Many members help destroy the ice when Natsu splits in into pieces. When it's all destroyed, Gray is still naked, and Juvia stares at him, remarking that Gray-sama is so manly while blushing and hearts around her.
Drunk Juvia
Later on at night, the guys, Natsu, Gray, Jet, and Droy, head back to the inn they are staying at to find all the girls drunk. The guys notice that the girls ate all the food and ask why they are drinking. Gray yells out to the landlord asking why the sake is there, and Erza throws a bottle at him telling him to shut up, drink, and get them refills. Juvia holds onto Erza, crying out that Gray is hers and all hers.

Juvia latches onto Gray's arm while they are sitting next to each other, offering him a drink. Her breasts brush up against his arm, and he tells her to hold on a second in panic. Juvia becomes emotional again, telling Gray that he wouldn't look at her in her swim suit all day and that she was lonely. To which, he says to wait and hold on again while sweat dropping. She then yells at him with tears in her eyes that she at least wanted him to have a drink with her. She also says that if he doesn't, he might as well drink her. She then gives him a bone crushing hug, water surrounding her bottom. Gray struggles and pleads for someone to help him.

Natsu screams that this is the most critical situation in Fairy Tail. We then see Juvia still on top of Gray, telling him that she loves him. Gray can only say to her to do whatever she wants, he just doesn't want her to melt.
When the girls go to the hot springs later on, they don't remember everything. Although they talk about Natsu and Lucy's relationship, Juvia thinks to herself if Lucy is with Natsu, one of her "love rivals" for Gray will be gone. While the girls converse, Mavis, who is sitting above them, notices Gray, Natsu, and Jet trying to peek on the girls. Erza also realizes that someone is behind the wall, and throws kunais at them. Levy asks if the guys came to peek on them. Juvia defends Gray, and insists that he would never do something like that (ironically its confirmed later in a manga volume extra that Gray actually went to go peek on Juvia, Natsu on Lucy, Jet on Levy). The guys fail at peeking, were hit in their foreheads except for Droy, who was hit in the butt. Gray says he should have never followed Natsu. Jet replies telling him that he was totally up for it though.
The Exciting Ryuzetsu Land
Gray Talks about Juvia's Swimsuit
The Fairy Tail gang along with a bunch of other guilds head to Ryuuzetsu Land on the third day of the Grand Magic Games. While there, Juvia is watching Gray from afar as she remarks that she chose her swimsuit on purpose for Gray to look her way as she looks very cute in it. When he looks at her, she imagines him talking about her swimsuit, and she delightly says yes with a blush. Gray tells Juvia she forgot about the price tag. Juvia says in her head that she's not trained for that as Gray walks off naked.
Juvia Wants Gray to Go on the Love Slide with Her
Gray and Juvia are together again and she asks him to ride the love love slider with her. Gray questions why it's named that. She answers it's because people hold each other while they ride. This causes an embarrassed Gray to blush madly while screaming that he wouldn't go. Once he says that, Lyon pops up out of no where, holding Juvia in his arms and telling her that he would take her. Juvia makes a horrified face as Gray becomes angry. He calls Lyon a bastard and asks where he came from all of sudden.
Juvia Wants to Slide Down with Gray
Gray, Lyon, and Juvia all end up being dragged to the love silde together, with Juvia clinging onto Gray. In the manga version, Gray and Lyon are fighting with each other while Juvia is in the middle with her hands on her face. Once they are at the top of the love slider, Juvia insists that Gray goes with her while Lyon keeps trying to get Juvia to ride with him and tells her to forget about Gray. Juvia is pulling on Gray's arm slightly, and Gray looks as if he's about to give in but is also annoyed by the whole thing. Natsu comes flying at them, resulting in Lyon and Gray falling down the love slide together. Gray is horrified, screaming and asking why is this with him (Lyon). Hinting that he really wouldn't have minded if it was Juvia. She watches them fall down the love slider together, asking herself while picturing Gray and Lyon in a naughty way if this was the rumored boy's love. Lucy asks Juvia what she's doing and she responds with how she just wants to see what they do next. The two girls end up on the love slider together, and Lucy says what will people think when they see them together. Juvia says they will think they are love rivals. Lucy asks how they ended up like this while Juvia continues on about being love rivals and to let go of her. Lucy says they can't let go on this thing. Gray and Lyon are fighting and start to try and freeze each other, but end up freezing the pool and almost everyone else. Natsu sees this and ends up destroying the pool with fire. Gray and Lyon are still hugging each other while on top of Juvia.[146]

Gray and Juvia Separated from the Team
Team Natsu plus Juvia takes a job to seek out an incredible magic user. The team ends up separating, which results in Gray and Juvia walking together alone. Gray mutters that this was supposed to be collaborating works, but somehow they got separated from the rest. Juvia mentions the town is pretty big, and if that's the case, the two of them could do something together. She twiddles her fingers, and before she can complete her sentence, Gray interrupts her, saying he wants to complete the job at once. While talking, he bumps shoulders with Musica from Hiro Mashima's other series, Rave Master.
Juvia Tries to Stop Gray and Musica from Fighting
Despite bumping into him. Gray keeps walking past Musica, until Musica tells Gray to wait. He tells Gray with an angry face that you are supposed to apologize to others when you bump into them. Gray responds, saying that he was the blockhead that was spacing out and that blockheads should apologize at once. Juvia becomes nervous, trying to break the fight up with a simple "ano...". Musica and Gray continue their brawl, both asking if they want a fight. Gray starts to form ice make while telling Musica not to imitate him. Musica also tells Gray not to imitate him as he molds his silver into a sword. Gray's ice make is also molded into a sword. Juvia is still trying to break the fight up, when suddenly, the two boys stop on their own with shocked expressions, probably due to them being so similar.
Musica Tells Gray to Cherish Juvia
Gray and Musica sit at a table, simply chatting with each other and somewhat getting to know one another. Gray is also naked. They know that Gray is an ice artist and that Musica is a silver artist, and now Gray says they can get along since they've been talking, to which Musica agrees. The silver user looks at Gray's necklace (which looks like the Rave stone), so he asks Gray if it's a replica. Gray is confused, and says he bought it from a silver merchant years ago. Musica takes a closer look at the necklace, when Juvia comes running towards them, saying that there is something noisy going on in the town circle. She then stops dead in her tracks when she sees Gray and Musica very close to each other, thinking they are kissing. She gets a nosebleed and passes out. Both boys turn to look at her, and Gray says that she is the noisy one. Musica smirks, and assumes Juvia is Gray's girlfriend. He says to Gray that he has a cute girl there, and tells him to cherish her, while Gray blushes. While fighting the monsters, Musica and Gray both tell each other they are strong. Musica asks Gray why he is naked, and Gray says its just a habit and to not mind it. Juvia, still red faced and on the ground, thinks to herself that she minds. Once all enemies are defeated, Gray and Musica bump fists and Juvia wakes up. At the end of the day when Team Natsu meets up again and is walking back home, Gray comments to Lucy that her walking seems weird (it's because the magic made her panties disappear). Juvia accuses Lucy and asks her if it's a new strategy to get Gray's attention.[147]

Juvia Receives the Potion
It is raining in Magnolia. Under the falling rain, Juvia approaches a mysterious shop where she asks for a way for him (Gray) to notice her. The shopkeeper gives her a potion, and assures her that for 60,000 yen, the one she likes will give her passionate gazes. Initially apprehensive over the price, Juvia is eventually convinced upon hearing the claim that it is completely effective. Juvia then returns to the guild. She is getting ready to give Gray the potion aiming for his gaze to be directed towards her. Upon seeing Gray from behind the wall, Juvia imagines him and her hands start to shake. The following day, Juvia appears behind a fighting Gray and Natsu, remembering how she was too nervous to give him the potion prior. She also remembers the words of the shopkeeper who said Gray should ingest just a little of the potion. After some thought, she gets herself together and prepares to do it. The water mages recalls times she watched Gray from afar, thinking about how impatient she is getting. She makes up her mind that today will be the day it will all be over as her and Gray will become lovers. Juvia releases the potion while trying is calling out after Natsu. It doesn’t hit Gray, but Makarov, the Thunder God Tribe, Shadow Gear, Cana, Elfman, Erza, Mirajane, Wakaba and Macao instead. When it does finally hit Gray, he starts to make his way over to her, but the reaction isn’t the one she expected. Gray goes right passed her and stops in front of Happy. He begins to shout at him, resenting the fact that he can fly and declares him his rival. This doesn’t happen to only him; Macao and Wakaba are fighting over who earns more money, Makarov declares alcohol is his rival. Erza declares a pillar somewhere in the guild her rival, while Mirajane declares Erza is hers. Gray then wants him and Happy to have a flying contest. Juvia watches and wonders if it takes time for the potion to have an effect. It turns out the shopkeeper swindled the money out of Juvia as he doesn't actually know the effect of the potion he sold her because he just mixed random forbidden ingredients in it and after selling the potion, he fled the town. Outside, Happy is still dealing with Gray. Juvia gives him more potion, and he, acting like Natsu, runs off the tower, and when he jumps off the cliff, says “Fly, me...”
Juvia Happy to See that Gray is Alright
The next day, everything is back to normal. Gray is sleeping in the water, when Juvia materializes, holding him in her arms. She cries, thinking her feelings weren't strong enough to reach him and apologizes. Gray wakes up, asking her what happened to him. Juvia is happy that Gray is alright, and Happy appears, saying they're in love with a snicker. Gray then says he knew he felt something wet, and asks how many times he needs to tell her not to soak him. Juvia makes a disappointed face, saying she is shocked. Gray asks what's wrong, but Juvia says she is frustrated. In the heat of the moment, she makes him drink the whole potion. Gray has his strength back, and this time, he declares the horizon as his rival. He races off, while Juvia is left tearing again.
Later, Juvia is consulting another potion master, who tells her that "a potion that creates feelings" is impossible to mix, and Gray finds himself on Galuna Island. The chief believes that Gray is afflicted by the moon's curse, while the girls are happy to see him.
Rainbow Sakura
It's the blooming season of cherry blossoms in Magnolia Town and so Fairy Tail takes a few days off to celebrate and party. This is Lucy Heartfilia's first Hanami and she is excited.There is a shortage of jobs since clients also know of Fairy Tail's resting period during the Sakura season. However, Team Natsu managed to get one since they accompanied Wendy on a job, much to Juvia's dismay as she sulks because Gray left. Juvia says that she can't believe how lonely the guild is without him there. She's upset that she was left behind, but another guild member says that Gray formed a team with Natsu so that's just how it is. She complains that Wendy and Carla went, however it's only so they can get used to Fairy Tail's jobs since they just transferred. Juvia knows that but she's still sad and drowns the guild in water.

The following day is the day of the Hanami. Everyone is out celebrating with the cherry blossom petals flying around them. Natsu tells Gray and Juvia that Lucy caught a cold and couldn't come. Mirajane announces they will now begin the traditional Hanami bingo tournament. Gray and Juvia are smiling at each other, holding their bingo cards. As the game goes on, the two are still next to each other. Gray makes a comment when Erza wins bingo and Juvia says she's close to winning too. She finally has bingo, but at the same time as Elfman and Levy. Makarov says he will give the prize to the person who makes him laugh the most with a single gag. The prize is a pair of tickets to a fancy hotel at Akane resort for 3 days and 2 nights. Juvia blushes thinking about being together with Gray for 3 days and 2 nights. With steam coming out of her ears, nervously she doesn't think she's ready for such a thing. The day after the festival, Makarov is angry that someone (Natsu) dug up the Sakura tree while Gray calls him an idiot. Juvia gently scold's Gray because he stripped his clothes.[148]
Welcome Home, Frosch
While on a search for his guild, Frosch meets Gray and Juvia who are seen walking together. Gray comments he's part of Sabertooth and Juvia says the exceed's name. They exchange greetings, and Gray ask's what he is doing there. Frosch replies that he is shopping which earns a compliment from Juvia since he is doing it all by himself. When Frosch suddenly starts crying, Gray and Juvia are startled and ask him what's wrong. He then admits to the two that he's actually lost. Gray then suggests that he could walk him back to his guild. This

act earns him a praise from Juvia, saying that Gray is so considerate. But Frosch declines Gray's offer because he wants to do it by himself. Gray strips and pats Frosch on the head, telling him to do his best. He then lets him go off on his own. Juvia is seen with a smile holding Gray's discarded clothes for him. A big bulletin board of a flower field is in back of the pair.[149]

Natsu and Happy admire the new pool table that had recently been placed in the guild. Juvia explains that it is a gift from a client. Gray adds that the client got him hooked to the game and shoots, stripping in the process, much to Juvia's excitement. She exclaims that even seeing Gray shoot pool is dreamy, to which Lucy agrees, angering Juvia. As Gray continues to play Juvia continues to watch him, commenting often. After Gray finishes, Juvia asks him to shoot once more, the rest of the guild praising his performance as well. Lucy comments on Gray's ability, angering Juvia once more, who again calls the blond her love rival.[150]
413 Days
Juvia is taking a shower in her room at the Fairy Hills girl's dormitory, using her "Gray" sponge to wash herself. With a blush, Juvia says body care is important for girls, and asks "isn't that right" to the Gray sponge. Juvia gets out of the shower and uses a towel with the words "Gray-sama love" on it and a picture of him with a thumbs up. She starts to get dressed and we see all of her Gray merchandise she owns. Juvia says she will see him later and kisses her big Gray doll goodbye.

As Juvia exits her room, she runs into Wendy, Carla, and Erza. The scarlet haired mage notices she's in a good mood and so she asks what's going on. Juvia puts her hands on her face, blushing as she says it's the 413th day anniversary of when she met Gray, and that it's a special day. Carla comments that's an awkward anniversary, and asks if there's a meaning behind the number 413. Wendy excitedly jumps in, asking if it's a number that's memorable to both of them, for example if they met on April 13th. Juvia denies that, saying it's just like her and Gray met for the first time 413 days ago. So Carla and Wendy ask about yesterday and tomorrow, to which Juvia said those are their 412th and 414th day anniversaries. She continues, saying that every day is an anniversary. Erza puts her hands on Juvia's shoulders, saying that's wonderful and that it's important to make everyday of your life have significance. She says the springtime of one's life is short and she would like to learn from Juvia. Wendy and Carla sweat drop, but Wendy adds she thinks it's admirable how Juvia values each day, as Carla says Juvia has a cheerful personality. The water mage says it's thanks to Gray that she's cheerful every day. Erza asks Juvia if she will celebrate the joyous occasion, to which Juvia replies she's not because she is satisfied just to spend the whole day in a state of bliss. Erza tells Juvia that she can't do that because it's her anniversary, and she should make Gray happy by giving him a present. Juvia then imagines herself giving Gray an anniversary present with Gray's happy reaction, hugging her, and telling her to get married. Juvia pictures herself and Gray getting married, while Wendy and Carla exclaim that's fast development. Juvia decides to try it, but she panics because she doesn't know what to get him. She seeks advice from Erza and asks what would please her, to which Erza says armor and weapons. Juvia imagines Gray opening up that type of gift, saying he is happy and asking her to marry him. However, she doesn't think that gift fits his image.

Juvia asks multiple girls in the dorm what they would like to receive as a present, such as Levy, Cana, and Laki. None of this is helpful, so Juvia sighs wondering if there's anyone that could really help her. She sees Evergreen walk out of her room and asks what you should do to marry the man you love. She turns red, thinking about Elfman and says to Juvia that she is better off asking a man about another man. When doing so Natsu suggests food and Happy suggests fish. Juvia sweat drops saying she doesn't think Gray would be happy receiving fish. Elfman is also of no use, and Gajeel says he would want a white suit and guitar. This causes Juvia to once again imagine Gray receiving that specific gift and proposing marriage to her. She thinks it would look good on him, but Lucy finishes her sentence that it's not really Gray's image. Clothes are then suggested, and Juvia goes into dream world again thinking of Gray dressed in multiple outfits, telling her to marry him. Finally, Mirajane suggests a homemade present, saying that if she wants to express her feelings, homemade is the way to go. Juvia combines that idea with Natsu's food idea, deciding she will make a homemade cake. Back in her dorm, Juvia dresses in an apron to prepare to make the cake. She reads the cook book, and adds all the ingredients in the bowl. Unfortunately she is having a hard time getting the recipe correct and becomes depressed thinking about Gray's reaction at her failure. She imagines herself on the ground as Gray tells her he had no idea she sucked at baking. In her dream, he says he is disappointed and bids her a farewell for eternity as she calls his name. Juvia comes back to reality and doesn't want that to happen, so she uses her water magic to try and make the cake again. In the end she still could not make a good cake. Carla suggests making an accessory; something Gray could wear. Juvia smiles, saying she will give it a shot. She goes back to her room and knits a scarf. While knitting, Juvia again goes into her own delusional world and imagine's Gray's reaction, which is him not knowing she could knit, how happy he is, and to marry him.

It's starting to get late and Juvia wonders if Gray is still in the guild. She starts looking around with the present in her hands. While doing so, she starts to have hallucinations of Natsu and Lucy talking dirty to each other, Gajeel and Levy kissing, Elfman and Evergreen and Happy and Carla being lovey dovey with each other. When she snaps back to reality, Mirajane tells Juvia that Gray didn't come to the guild today. Natsu says he's probably at home, so the water mage sets outside, determined to go there. As she walks around town, she runs into Lyon who asks if she is going to meet Gray. She says she is and he says he is too since he hasn't seen him in awhile. Lyon asks if something came up and Juvia says it's their anniversary so she wants to give Gray a present. Lyon is startled, but before he could say anything else, Juvia rushes off to continue her search. She finally finds Gray and runs towards him, asking where he was today and that she looked all over for him. Gray closes his eyes, saying he was just wandering around the whole day. Juvia starts blushing and shows Gray the scarf she made him, telling him it was rushed so it probably isn't very good but it's handmade for him. Gray attempts to walk off bidding her goodnight, but Juvia latches onto him telling him to wait. They start to go back and forth; She shows him the scarf again and tells him she made it just for him, he says he doesn't need one, and she says it's cute. He tells her he won't wear it, while Juvia says it's getting cold outside. Gray looks directly at her and says the cold doesn't bother him because he is an ice mage. Juvia falls to the ground mumbling that today is their anniversary, and that he doesn't have to wear but keep it to remember the occasion. This stops Gray in his tracks, and he questions her. She explains that today is the 413th day since they met, and Gray says he has never heard of a weird anniversary like that. Juvia says the date doesn't matter as long it's a happy day, it's worth celebrating. Gray says he's sorry, maybe next time. He walks off, leaving Juvia and the scarf on the ground. Lyon runs up behind Juvia and says her name.

As the snow falls from the sky, Juvia is sitting alone by a river with her face pressed to her knees when Erza walks by and states this is unlike her because she is usually so optimistic. In response, Juvia starts to wail and clings to Erza's leg saying she didn't know that today was such a sad day for Gray. There is a flashback of Lyon telling her today is the anniversary of his teacher's (Ur's) death. Juvia speaks her feelings to Erza, saying she told Gray it's their happy anniversary and yet she hadn't a clue of what today really is (that it's so sad for him). She wonders what she should do now, and Erza apologies because she pushed her to do it (get a present for Gray). Juvia disagrees and says that it's her own fault, while the scarlet haired mage tells her that she doesn't think Gray is bothered by what Juvia did. Even so, Juvia herself is bothered by it. Erza comforts Juvia, saying it's just a date. She tells her that if a life is lost today, a life is born today too, and that every person feels the weight of each day differently. She continues and highlights what's important is how you feel on this day called today. Finally, she says she admires how Juvia values each and every day. Erza smiles at her, and hearing that speech, Juvia continues to cry into Erza's shoulder. Gray is walking alone around Magnolia looking down with a sad look on his face. Juvia is also walking alone, but to her dorm. The snow is lightly falling as both Gray and Juvia continue to walk on opposite sides of the town yet their scenes are connected. Gray stops and looks up at the sky, staring at it as we see his breath. Juvia also looks up at the snowy sky in the same way. He instantly remembers a time when he was a little boy. In the flashback, Ur asks Gray if he's cold. She wraps a scarf around his body, telling him it will keep him a bit warm. The ice mage then looks back and starts to run. The scene switches from Gray to Juvia and back to Gray as he's frantically looking for the scarf she made for him. Gray is digging and digging through the snow to find the scarf. As Juvia reaches her dorm, he finally locates the item, his hands red from the cold. Juvia wipes a tear a way from her eye before entering her dorm, as Gray picks the scarf and stares at it before putting it around his neck with a blush on his face. He states that the scarf is really warm and starts to walk again. But unlike how he was walking before, Gray has a smile on his face this time. Unbeknownst to Gray, Erza sees him with the scarf on, and his smile, making her smile knowingly too.

The following day, Juvia apologies directly to Gray for yesterday. Gray is blushing and looking away while saying he was the one out of it then, and he's sorry. Juvia then pulls out an apology gift which is actually a hug pillow of herself in lingerie which freaks Gray out. She also says it's for their 414 day anniversary as well, showing the pillow in his face. He says he doesn't want it so Juvia asks what he wants for present then. They push the pillow back and forth to each other multiple times. Erza watches, commenting "good grief" with a grin. She can't complain if every day is a lively one. Juvia says that's right and that she will keep trying.[151]
Here Comes Kemokemo
Lyon shoves Juvia's picture in Gray's face
Team Natsu visits different guilds in order to find out more information on Kemokemo, a furry animal that appeared by Natsu. While in Lamia Scale, Lyon confronts Gray with a vague question of "when". Gray asks for clarification, while Lyon says obviously when will he and Juvia tie the knot. Gray becomes annoyed saying that he never thought about that, so Lyon replies for the sake of her happiness to think about it now. He repeats the question of when. Frustrated, Lyon pulls out a picture of Juvia and shoves it in Gray's face, asking when the
wedding is and to decide now. Gray retaliates by punching Lyon in the face, saying he has no intention of getting married. They continue their brawl while the rest of their friends research on Kemokemo. Lyon somehow hears that Gray will only hold the reception for relatives only, and becomes even more angry thinking of how Juvia would feel about that. Gray yells that he didn't say anything like that and to not blow his stack over something he dreamed up. They fight until a block of their ice destroys Jura's ancient rock. That's when the Fairy Tail members are kicked out of Lamia Scale.[152]

Juvia hugs Gray
Ichiya creates an "ultimate perfume" ("hot man perfume") that spreads around Magnolia. When sniffed, this perfume will transform your face into Ichiya's own. Those infected can spread the "disease" to others just by sniffing them. A few Fairy Tail females are working as maids at 8 Island Magnolia for the grand opening of the restaurant. Juvia is on break with Wendy looking at a magazine. She shows Erza the magazine and it has a ranking of the hottest male wizards rankings. Looking at his picture, Juvia points out that Gray is in there and it's amazing. Erza wonders why Ichiya isn't listed because he always talking about his attractiveness. Juvia mentions if he doesn't, no one else would and that Gray and the other wizards look totally different from Ichiya. All of a sudden, infected Jet and Droy appear in the restaurant and sniff Levy. Terrified, many members run out of the place, including Juvia. Juvia is walking around with Wendy and Carla, noticing the town is filled with Ichiyas. Gray runs to them asking if they are alright. Excited, Juvia replies that a true hunk came to rescue her. Gray wonders how this happened, while she asks how the guild is. He tells the water mage she doesn't want to know, referring to all the Ichiyas. The conversation continues as Gray asks if anyone was still themselves. Carla thinks that Lucy and Erza are still normal, but Wendy says she doesn't know where they are at the moment. Walking over to him, Juvia hugs Gray and tells him that she's scared. Saying her name, Gray tells Juvia not to worry while returning her hug. After that, he turns into Ichiya, saying he will sniff her and that she has a nice perfume. Juvia screams as Wendy and Carla run away.

Once everyone is cured, Gray and Juvia are sitting next to each other at the guild. He comments what happened wasn't funny because for a while he thought they were goners. Juvia says that the Ichiya virus is a scary thing. The perfume has been banned with Ichiya locked up, and Gray says it had to be done. Juvia adds to that, saying she was worried the supply of oder eating lacrima would run out.[153]

Gray and Juvia Greet Each Other
When Team Natsu returns to the guild after failing their mission to capture a burglar, Juvia greets Gray, welcoming him back. He says hello to her, as she turns around saying that the guild without Gray is like an ocean without water, and that her rival in love is no where in sight. Gray asks her what she's muttering to herself about and that people will think she's weird if she keeps talking to herself. Juvia then shows a look of disappointment as Gray walks away from her. Fairy Tail is attacked by those who want the Phoenix Stone (Carbuncle). One of the enemies (who refers to himself as "Cannon-sama") calls Gray handsome and asks him to spend time with cannon-sama while licking his lips. Juvia takes it as that animal confessing his love for Gray and becomes jealous, telling him to stop trying to win Gray over. The enemy says that he wasn't trying to while Juvia accuses him of lying and shoots a water attack at him.
Gray Protects Juvia with an Ice Shield
He aims canons at Juvia's water body, which go through her. He launches another attack that's about to strike her, but Gray uses his ice magic to shield them both. While the shield took most of the damage, it breaks and causes the pair to go flying.
Gray Saves Juvia
When members of Fairy Tail head to the country of Veronica in order to save Eclair, Gray and Juvia are working together. Gray tells Juvia to hurry as they're running, and she agrees. Juvia also says in her head that despite the situation, she's happy to be paired with Gray. Because she is distracted, an attack almost hits her, but Gray throws himself on top of her, saving her before the attack hits. We then see it's the same enemy with the cannons who attacked the guild earlier. Gray calls him a bastard, while Juvia has her hands over her mouth in shock because Gray is on top of her, saying he is too bold. The cannon guy calls Gray handsome again and says he wants to play. This angers Juvia, and she gets up right away, threatening him if he tries to lay his hands on Gray, she won't forgive him.
Gray Picks Juvia Up and Escapes with Everyone
She calls him a rival in love, and Gray comes up behind her putting his hand out to reach for her shoulder, telling her to calm down. Juvia notices that Gray doesn't have a shirt on anymore, and yells at him, asking why he must strip in front of that guy. Surrounding neighbors hear Gray and Juvia, commenting and labeling their interaction as a lovers/couples quarrel. Cannons are fired at them, and Gray uses his ice shield to protect Juvia once again. After he does that, Juvia uses her water slicers to attack. The enemy dodges and shoots more cannons. This causes Gray to grab Juvia's hand and run with her to safety. They end up in the water. Juvia's head appears first, and then Gray moves above her because she raises the water. Gray is on top of the raising water and freezes it. He tells the enemy that he will pay for wrecking their guild. Cannons are shot, but Gray uses a final attack to win. When he does, he tells Juvia lets go, and she follows with no argument.
Ending Credits
When everyone fights Dyst and the Phoenix in the final battle, Gray and Juvia are seen constantly next to each other. When the Phoenix falls, Gray picks Juvia up and jumps to a safer area with her in his arms. They are both seen together mourning the death of Eclair with everyone else. During the ending credits of the movie, there is a scene at the guild where Gray and Juvia are interacting whilst other guild members watch them together and give extremely big, knowing smiles.[154]

- Many characters in the series have commented on Gray and Juvia's relationship.
- Alzack and Bisca - Back when the two of them were not able to tell each other how they feel with one another, they often-times watched Gray and Juvia together and wished that their relationship could be like theirs. They also like to watch their relationship play out.[155][156][157]
- Lucy - When the candidates of the S-Class Mage Promotion Trial decide to find their best partner, Lucy clarifies to Gray that Juvia didn't want to participate because she wanted to be Gray's partner.[158]

- Cana and Mirajane - When Juvia continues to try and win Gray with her trays of bread, Cana questions their actions since it contradicts Gray's previous rejection of Juvia's feelings. Mirajane then responds that it's the same as always between the two of them.[163]
- Lisanna - When Elfman starts eating a handful of the bread that Juvia made for Gray, Lisanna tells her brother that he needs to learn how to gauge the atmosphere in the room.[164]

- On June 5th 2015, Hiro Mashima posted a Gray x Juvia drawing that received 17,000 favorites on twitter, and Mai Nakahara's (Juvia's voice actress) approval. She tweeted him her enthusiasm (「こ…これはっ！！！！」"Th...this is!!!!"), and he responded with 「謎の絡み方です(；д；)」"Their relationship is a mystery".[173][174]
